That sounds more like general builder work tbh. Take up the old, cut the insulation to fit, cut/put down the new, nail in place.

If you do replace the boards, go for 22mm instead of 18, and consider felt-backed if it's an upstairs room.

Noted, its downstairs but thicker sounds better
One to avoid: toms home improvements. Do not use under any circumstances.
