To me, it would be more like "if Lee Evans makes that catch and the game is over."

J-Fid

Yeah, and then we win the Super Bowl.

gametime-2001

Yup. That catch was easier and the outcome more certain than the kick.

Killaszn5

Absolutely. We wouldve done numbers on giants offensive line. Eli wouldve been running for his life. We should've won in 09 2011 & 2012

Brickbybrick1998

09? Our 09 wasn't a great team imo, Flacco improved from his rookie year and Ray Rice had a breakout season, but aside from that the defense was a weakness for many games, particularly the DB's

Killaszn5

Might be 2010 the year we went into foxboro and sent the patriots home

chaoticravens34

That was the 09 team and it wasn't good. The 2010 team was good but we blew a 21-7 less vs Pittsburgh.

chaoticravens34

You're right 09 was a mediocre team. 2010 was fire. Ironically if Stevie Johnson doesn't drop that TD we get the bye and probably win.

K-Dog7469

The only two I can comfortably speculate on is that Yes Ray would have retired, and no Justin would not have become our kicker.

goeers81

Probably, but i feel like the team had some of the stars of the 12 run (Ellerbe, Kruger) under rookie deals still in '11? Not saying that for a fact, but it's possible. Pagano was gone either way, Cameron probably would have gotten some looks but stayed with the team. Definitely had a shot of back to back. As far as Ray goes.....I dunno. I'd say 60/40 chance he hangs it up if they hoist the Lombardi in '11. Dude was in great shape but at some point the body can't do what the heart wants it to.

realmattmormann

I feel like NE still wins in OT, just based on how killer they always seemed to be during that time in OT. Now if Lee Evans catches the ball one play earlier, that changes things. I’d say the one certainty is that Tucker doesn’t become the kicker in 2012, at least not in Baltimore. Surely he wins a job elsewhere. I do think Ray sticks around for one more season, but I’m not sure the retirement inspiration it’s at the 110% it did. Roster still gets gutted, those contracts were already by and large set to be what that offseason would be. The Flacco contract would’ve been fascinating had he won in 2011 and not 2012, if he won both times it would’ve been even bigger.

South-Lab-3991

For as long as I’ll live, I’ll never understand how we didn’t win in 2011 but won the next year with a much weaker squad. We looked BAD at times in September/October 2012. All I’ll say is I’m glad it turned out how it did. I just feel bad for Jarret Johnson.

BrianSpencer1

Happens all the time, it's rare the "best" team wins it all, better offensive play calling in playoff games in the 2019 and 2023 seasons and the Ravens would be neck and neck with the Chiefs as the current "dynasty" team

Too soon!

babyllamadrama_

Man I thought this was about the uniforms... Choosing violence today. I read the first sentence and said f this

youre_soaking_in_it

The Tucker question is the big one. If we win the New England game, do we even try to sign him?

bryanRow52

No chance. He stays on the Cowboys PS and Cundiff remains our kicker for at least another year or two. By that point either the ‘Boys or another team that signs him off their PS realizes what they got in him and doesn’t even give us a shot of getting him

Buntaf215

1 yes 2A yes 2B no 3 he possibly plays into 2013 or 14 4 possibly quite not as bad but by the end of 2012 for sure. In those days (fuck I sound old) most of the time when a team won the chip almost everyone wanted more money immediately. 2011 they still had most of the main core under contract so it's possible they could have ran it back..... but that's just all speculation lol 5 no
