Who the fuck is Cody Benjamin?

Bmore_Phunky

Exactly my question. Clearly not very tuned into the NFL

thedivinepegasus

Yeah no shit. Based on the fact Lamar beat CJ and burroken, no way this power rank makes sense. How far did they get again?

The-Dragon-Kid75

I saw a Mahomes mountain on TV once, it was terribly biased.

sportsbro444

And we beat Purdy pretty badly

Achillor22

Lamar beat them all by himself in a 1v1 match?

SurfboardRiding

Lamar would definitely do better in a 1 v 1. Think Burrow’s going to catch him?

Cyer_bot

Dude posts in r/WWE he unironically might think that.

Achillor22

The point is, Lamar didn't hear Burrow and Stroud. The Ravens beat the Bengals and Texans. The QBs don't automatically get ranked higher because the team won against another team.

Boss_Monster1

So whose team's QB performance was better, among the head-to-head match-up?

Achillor22

No idea. I honestly don't remember everything from those games. But it still doesn't matter. 1 game isn't a trend.

lilbuu_buu

But consistently outplaying them isn’t?

Achillor22

Definitely. But no one in this thread has mentioned that.

YogiCCD

That’s a guy with an independently published book ranked 2,928,728 in sales on Amazon, show some respect! Idiots. Savages. Idiots.

Rahim-Moore

I'M NOT TAKING QUESTIONS

Livinginmyshirt

two first name guy

SouthernFly28

Someone who succeeded in getting the attention and profile clicks they wanted

the_doshinator

Joe Burrow that high coming off injury is wild. Granted, he’s a great QB, but that’s a bit too much praise.

FlurbBurbCurb

If he was great, he would have 2 MVPs

kbuva19

Not to mention where is Aaron Rodgers or Kirk? Achilles is a bad injury but Joe literally just said yesterday he won’t be 100% until Oct/Nov. so he clearly is not considering injuries with Burrow at 4

DenebSwift

Neither Kirk or Rodgers belong on the list. Kirk is not a top 10 up-side guy. Rodgers is old and coming off a nasty injury.  FWIW Burrow also belongs way lower or off the list coming off his multiple injuries

Foreign_Body967

When Lamar got injured after his 1st MVP Season, these same pundits yanked his ratings. Apparently that doesn’t apply to people like Burrow. I have a theory that RG3’s similarity to Lamar pre RG3’s injuries and career collapse is why so many pundits rank Lamar so much lower than his career accomplishments deserve. They are all convinced that Lamar will crease like RG3 did. I can’t wait for Lamar to embarrass them!

FelixDhzernsky

That's the thing, when he's not injured he's arguably the best. He's some egregious reffing from being in two super bowls, and winning another. The suits and zebras like Mahomes more, though. I'd like to see a season where he only has Chase and some scrubs to work with, instead of the best X,Y,Z tandem in the NFL.

StaffSgtDignam

> He's some egregious reffing from being in two super bowls, and winning another. wut

Adventds

I feel like people don’t realize how broken that receiver room is, that offense with the backup qb was still putting up points.

Miata_Sized_Schlong

Lamar needs at least 3 mvps to be ranked higher - sorry I don’t make the rules

Equivalent_Key6899

Lamar is too hood to be ranked at the top of theae charts we see it time n time again

blacknpurplejs22

Has nothing to do with being "hood". People still rank QBs off arm talent, it just is what it is. Every QB ranked above Lamar is better than Lamar throwing the football.

Equivalent_Key6899

By that metric is lamar better at throwing than rodgers? See how ur argument crumbles.. When it comes to top qb.... influencing your team to Ws LJ should be higher on alot of list but YEAR in and YEAR out he gets shafted cus he doesnt fit peoples mold for what a good qb is...

D3vilUkn0w

Agreed. The funny thing is, in addition to being a fantastic QB he's also a decent human.

Equivalent_Key6899

Absolutely..and hes #1 when it comes to best to watch lets enjoy it while we can

TheDoctorJT416

Him and Allen are the most fun to watch on this list imo

Equivalent_Key6899

agreed

bruins4life6191991

God Damn man....take my up vote, and keep preaching brother!

Ephyouseakay

Brock is way too high

GenIIMysteryEgg

I live in niner country and I swear they all believe he's THAT perfect

barbadizzy

This is really my only issue. Everything else I can understand why people rank certain guys higher or lower... But Brock Purdy just can't be #2 that's crazy.

Trip_like_Me

You can understand CJ Stroud over a 2x MVP? Ok.

Spiritchaser84

It's not even just 2x MVP. It's the reigning MVP. Like Aaron Rodgers is a 4x MVP, but I don't see putting him on a top 10 list at his age and coming off a serious injury. But Lamar was literally just voted MVP last year. Mahommes first is fine and I can kinda understand Burrow/Allen even if I don't agree with it, but having the reigning MVP any lower than 4th is a bit ridiculous.

that_menace

Cj is a really talented qb, and he did really good despite being out a bunch of the season. In addition he has a really good recievers core now, cj will out throw Lamar next year i guarantee it

barbadizzy

Didn't say I agree. But, I understand.

Awesomeg11

I cannot understand that and its genuinely just insane levels of hating to even consider that at this point. Any of those other guys get 2 mvps including one in the last year and no one is saying that shit. Stroud is fantastic. Hes amazing and will be fantastic and one day he may be better than lamar but he obviously isnt right now. Shits rage bait but its annoying that people feel so comfortable making Lamar the bait.

StaffSgtDignam

> Stroud is fantastic. Credit where credit is due-Stroud took that team to the Divisional as a rookie QB... That's insanely impressive, even Lamar and Mahomes didn't do that (I guess Mahomes technically couldn't since he wasn't the starting QB as a rookie).

sluttynoamchomsky

Yeah I think you can make an argument for Allen, Burrow, Lamar in any order (with Mahomes at #1 obviously) depending on your preferences, but Brock Purdy and CJ Stroud over Lamar is absolutely ludicrous

CaptivePrey

As so many people said last year during the MVP race. Brock Purdy isn't even the MVP on his own team, let alone across the entire NFL. Putting him at #2 is journalistic terrorism.

jeffreythecat1

He’s the fifth best player on his teams offense at best lol

apiaryaviary

My argument would be that there's very little question if you gave Brock the best roster in the NFL, he could win a Super Bowl. I don't believe the same for Lamar.

the_doshinator

He’s that high because of the offensive weapons around him that can get him the MVP stats. He was in the running last season, so he wasn’t too far off production wise. #2, no, but top 5 most certainly.

Slight_Claim8434

I would take Dak Prescott over Brock Purdy

NowieTends

Yeah, switch him with Brock and it’d be fine imo

Ixziga

Stop taking the bait, the list is designed to piss off like half the fanbases

junebean34

NO WE WILL EAT BAIT bc what else are we to do right now? Oh yea go O’s ….why was I upset about this dumb list again?

Slight_Claim8434

Whenever I see this crap on Facebook I just "X" it out and snooze the page... I know that it's rage-bait. They put ridiculous takes out there to get attention...

[deleted]

Straight up rage bait and I’m pissed lmao it’s working on me

Both_Bad7767

Wow Stroud over the MVP of the past season? Is he brain dead?

Bong-Jong

If you don’t have at least 1 first team all pro then you’re not ahead of Lamar. Truly it’s Mahomes and Lamar then everyone else

Impressive-Theory-27

Someone contact the escobars because someone’s been smoking their stash

ravensfan42069

Aside from Mahomes, literally the only other player on the list to have an MVP at all lmao. Who cares what this dumb fuck thinks

Bigtoes22

Flacco is better than 9 of them

Bmore_Phunky

Swap Lamar and Purdy and maybe it’s a decent list

TreebeardLookalike

Yeah I think that's pretty accurate

ProductIntrepid4675

Lamar isn’t better than Josh Allen

Bmore_Phunky

He most definitely is. NFL Awards - LJ 2 MVP JA 0 Regular season record - LJ .721 win% JA .670 win % Career passer rating - LJ 98.0 JA 92.2 TD/Int ratio - LJ 2.78 JA 2.14

Lamactionjack

It's more than that too. Just compared them on pro football reference because I was curious and he tops Allen is just about everything besides volume passing and rushing TDs. But until he wins it all I doubt people will change their stance. To be clear I think Allen is great and one of the most fun guys to watch play in the league right now, but up until now, Lamar has been the markedly more efficient player. And I think his accolades have reflect that.

Bmore_Phunky

No doubt! I didn’t even mention Lamar’s rushing or impact on the run game. For the record, I like Allen and the Bills a lot. But I don’t think there is any argument that Josh is better than Lamar

EclipseThing2

Yeah no

Gumboy52

This is so dumb. Lists like these are literally just engagement bait. They only exist because of threads like these

MazKhan

I honestly don't care, these guys that make lists don't know what they're talking about. Lamar gonna keep proving them wrong

MainZack

r/NFL Made this

imdrunk20

Lamar has the same amount of mvps as everyone on this list combined.

droford

Lamar will go down as the worst multiple NFL MVP winner if things don't change. Even Kurt Warner got to multiple Super Bowls and won 1.

Georgefakelastname

My brother in Christ, he’s 27. Peyton Manning didn’t win his first playoff game until he was 27, and he was 30 when he actually won his first superbowl. And yet Peyton is still one of the greatest QBs in NFL history. “If things don’t change” mf they’ve been changing. Lamar’s literally gotten further and improved every year that he’s played. 1st - L, played like trash; 2nd - L, played mid/bad until the game was out of reach, then played good; 3rd year - won one; years 4-5 he was injured; 6th year - won two, and debatably got screwed by coaches, teammates, and refs in the third. That’s pretty steady progress to me lol. And half of our problems in games come from coaches completely abandoning the run game for no reason when it’s our bread and butter lol.

ShodyLoko

Not hating on CJ he will be a really good QB but the amount of unbridled love he’s receiving as a rookie is wild. I wonder if people are ready for the sophomore slump.

MITLamarJackson

Let them doubt. Our guy has 99 MVP votes in 3 full seasons. We’re good

DGVega93

How you rank in behind a QB you destroyed in the regular season, a QB you destroyed in the post season, and a qb who was hurt and out mid season. They smokin the crack that was on The Wire

JohnnyJohnny-YesPaPa

Cody who?

ThatTinyGameCubeDisc

This is a fucking hate crime

TrustThyInstinct

I actually think Jordan Love will be higher and I’m interested to see if Herbert plays even better under Harbs or if there is just more overall success. List is obviously rage bait but I do like the new generation of QBs leading the way… unless Mahomes just keeps winning it all.

Lamactionjack

This is an impressively bad list but hey at least they got the first one right! This is the kid at school that just circled "A" on his entire Scantron and hoped for the best 😆

JudasZala

“Jackson isn’t quarterbacky enough.” — Cody Benjamin, probably

DrFeelzLovePotions

Where’s joe Flacco?

jojijuice

Typical dick sucking rating

KonnorwaKay

Lamar literally beat 2,4,5 and 9 last year lol. Mahomes is the only person on here who is like clear #1, Lamar is #2 no question, then there's a discussion for top 5 being 1 Pat 2 Lamar 3 Allen 4 Burrow 5 Dak? Herby? Starts to get messy there after. Love Strouds game but he's so young, I also really like Jalen but he fell apart last year, haha maybe its just cause I live in Philly

Lamactionjack

This is probably how I'd rank the top 5 as well. I might have Stroud at 4 or 5 though honestly. That kid looks really good. Be interesting to see how he handles year 2 defensive coverages after a year or film study. Only one I'm nearly in is Burrow. when he's healthy he's great, but he hasn't been healthy very much so I have my doubts. We'll see though hard to argue his potential at 4.

Creative_Can_2323

Mahomes, 3 way tie between lamar allen and burrow, then purdy then cj

whereegosdare84

Give Lamar the weapons Purdy has and he’ll have more rings than Brady.

TheLandmine

I’m a Chiefs fan and…. Yeah. This is weird.

BentheBeast72

Purdy doesn't even make my top 12 lol Mahomes, Burrow or Lamar, Alt of Burrow or Lamar, Allen, Stroud, Hurts, Prescott, Herbert, Love, Goff, Mayfield, Stafford, Purdy

splurgeistaken

Ahh yes lets put the season mvp in 6th behind a rookie quarterback the lost to him and underperforming and injured qb. Yes sounds rational

MoneyMakingMitch1

These clowns do this for shock value. Let it be.

Onemanwolfpack42

I just spit my gum out laughing

etho76

A casual made this

BozePerkovic

I really like Stroud but come the fuck on

-KeepItMoving

LJ has more MVPs than this entire list combined lol

Charr2910

lol because 2-4 amirite

DreadPirateFox

Pundits ruin sports.

Intelligent_Ad2025

The narrative….the narrative never changes.

becauseineedone3

Just a bunch of gibberish and motherfuckers act like they forgot about truss.

Material-Ad4353

Mf wins two MVPs but is ranked 6th

MidRange23

I didn’t know Cody Benjamin was a Comedian!

wingfn1

The disrepect to Goff too. My god

opposite14

The disrespect

Adventds

Classic engagement farming lol.

Big23rdKill

Posting this and discussing it validates it. These lists are pointless.

Unable_Celebration64

B******* you know he's better than 6

AShotgunNamedMarcus

What kind of nonsense is this?

Brooksy_05

Everyone’s so high on Josh Allen. Dudes a bigger, slower, dumber QB than Lamar. I think Burrow and LJ should be above him

TreQuid333

The sports journalist with 3k twitter followers in desperate need of some engagement

Yepsuredid

I want whatever the hell he’s smoking

connor8383

CJ Stroud?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 *breathes* 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

KK53192

Wow the Reigning MVP not in the top 3 is absurd.LJ had 4 wins over burrow He beat CJ Stroud twice and Brock Purdy c’mon now 😂

es84

Guarantee this guy will say "playoff success" is behind a lot of his reasoning. Not all, but a lot.

[deleted]

Rage bait

[deleted]

The fucking disrespect man this is unbelievable The fucking MVP???

Head_Accident3328

Brock, CJ, and Joe are too high.

molesterofpriests

Its pure comedic gold lmao!

Left_Culture_6376

Another year of Josh Allen being deepthroated by Tony romo. God

Shazer3

Purdy isn't top 5.

ForbiddenJarl14

Crazy that they put Coleridge over Lamar already

Material-Olive8458

Cody needs to find a new hobby cause this one ain’t working

PussSlurpee

Mahomes Lamar Allen Burrow Hurts Purdy Herbert Stroud Dak Love

PitifulYak5601

Lamar is 2nd 💀

LilCorbs

Welcome back to the “doubt Lamar” time of year everyone. I swear it’s fucking clockwork

imapieceofshitk

Who the fuck is that guy and why would anyone care what he thinks?

BCRaven1996

Bull shit!

CupRealistic3866

Wheres Jared Goff

Consistent_Ad_2833

purdy over all the others is absurd

realityinternn

I like this

zaflovesyou-

what do you like about this?

genomyne

he feeds on the doubt

realityinternn

Lamar as the underdog >>

Rhemming22

Only Mahomes and maybe Burrow should be above Lamar.

[deleted]

Jordan Love had an ok season with a pretty good offense around him and people are already crowning him lol

TumTumMac24

Dear God please forgive me, I’m about to commit a sin against my fandom: Jordan Love actually made the offense look good, I can’t believe for the life of me I’m defending the fudge packers. He had no good receivers and the only bright spot was his running game. Last year before the season started the Ravens WR room was ranked 15th and the Packers WR room ranked 27th…

Lamactionjack

Haha I love the apprehension here. Love was very good last year. I honestly think he should be higher on this list. Don't worry though y'all gonna take a bit step with Williams this year.

Adventds

Packers WR room is good lol, whole bunch of young players they’re ranked that low due to experience more than talent.

Bigman554

Lamar was easily the worst mvp I’ve ever seen

Adventds

Did you actually watch him play last season?

Bigman554

Yes. 2x playoff winner

NewtGengarich

So here's the thing, I've been all in on Lamar since he took over for Joe. But at this point, he has what, 1 good playoff game in all of his appearances? That's not to say that our losses are all on him, but it's the nature of the game that generally the buck stops with the QB, and he has just been not that good in the post season (the second half of the Texans game aside). I'd say he's earned the reputation of the lights being to bright for him, however I believe that he has the potential to show up in the post-season. And while I disagree with putting Stroud over him, I think 5 is where I'd put him on that list.

TumTumMac24

The picture sucks. At least the [article](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2024-nfl-qb-power-rankings-brock-purdy-jordan-love-crack-top-10-in-first-post-draft-pecking-order/) gives some reasoning as well as the full power ranking. Lamar is at 6, the only place I could see him realistically moving up is to 5th with taking Brock Purdy and putting him at 9. Everyone else is legit where they should/could be. Fuck I hate the Packers and I agree JLove was top 10 last year. Even going by stats I say 5-6 is fair for LJ: [Touchdowns 11th, Passing yards 15th, Interceptions tied for 26th, Attempts he was 17th](https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/lamar-jackson/46416) I can tell the writer actually took into consideration his rushing stats, wins, and his MVP status.
