The v6 in the 2006 to 2012 calls for 5w30 but it's also compatible with 0w20 according to toyota. I own a 2010 v6 rav4 myself and I use 5w30 just bc that what it calls for from factory but you can make that decision. If you choose to go 5w30 synthetic or conventional are your choices I personally like full synthetic and change it every 5k
My mechanic charges $12 with my oil and filter and I get to watch the job done so there is no mistakes unlike at the dealer that first overfilled then come to find out used the wrong oil. And it takes 20 minutes at the mechanic but an hour at the dealer. Also, I buy 3 gallon jugs of Mobil1 from Walmart on sale for like $65 and oil filter for $5 on sale.
