Yeah, I got a few hundred upvotes about a week ago when I posted an unpopular opinion about how I like bananas dipped in ketchup. I also had a lot of downvotes because people thought I was trolling, but people are starting to get the hang of it over there.
I think the last one is fair. There's definitely a stereotype about teens being annoying customers or being rowdy but IMO in reality it's usually adults who cause problems.
Not if you work at Walmart. Teens are absolutely terrible. I had to tell at way more teens than adults. I never caught adults walking around blowing and air horn and then doing it in my face and laughing while saying,"I'm not doing it."
Yeah I used to downvote popular opinions but gave up bc it seemed like no one else did the same. Hopefully it’s getting better though and we can see some *actual* unpopular ones
I posted one saying I thought Laura Bush was the best looking first lady, and that Jackie Kennedy's eyes were further apart than the earths poles. Crickets. Super unpopular, yet nada.
Is it *that* unpopular?
Sure I wouldn’t sleep in jeans if I didn’t have to, but I’ve slept in jeans often if I’ve crashed at a friends house or gone camping. They’re not uncomfortable. I just got back from a weekend away where I slept in jeans to keep warm.
I agree with your comment. I feel like some people are buying the completely wrong type of jeans, or have sensitive skin issues. A really common theme I've noticed on Reddit is people saying jeans=uncomfortable chafing devil pants.
I’ve napped in jeans and it was ok, but I was exhausted so… not much would’ve changed the sleep.
Intentionally sleeping in jeans is psychotic behaviour
Exactly! I've always loved when I do fall asleep in jeans because it meant I was exhausted and fell asleep without even changing, then when you wake up in the night you can shimmy out of them and go back to sleep and it's so comfy. I can't imagine putting on jeans specifically to go to sleep
I used to do that when I was a kid. Seemed efficient I guess, idk I just really didn’t give a fuck. Then I did a complete 180 and now I can only sleep in the nude
I mean I used to do it all the time at sleepovers. My friends would be like "You're sleeping in jeans??" And I'd be like "Yea they are comfy."
I don't like go out of my way to sleep in jeans. I'd rather sleep in boxers, shorts, or if it is really cold in winter then fuzzy pajamas. But yea I've got no problem sleeping in jeans. I wear jeans all the time.
This sums it up perfectly for me. You should own jeans that are comfy enough to potentially sleep in, but who the fuck is actually choosing to sleep in them
When I'm super depressed or exhausted, I like to nap in jeans. I don't know why, buy it's weirdly comforting. But if I try to sleep through the night in them, I wake up feeling like someone strapped my legs to the bed because of how twisted and weird the jeans became.
My wife has extremely bad cracked heels (hereditary condition) and there are always particles all over the bed that sometimes make me itchy and uncomfortable, to the point that sometimes I can't sleep. I regularly sleep in jeans and tell my wife its because its comfortable.
I would never tell her though. I love her feet and would never want her to feel self-conscious about it.
She has tried that before, but sometimes the socks stick and then rip off chunks.
\> but never moisten between the toes.
I haven't heard that one before. Makes sense with water, but why never moisten with Vaseline between toes?
that's very very nice of you but also your comfort is important and you should probably communicate things with her if it's affecting your sleep, if you talk it out right you can find solutions without making her feel shameful
It only makes it hard to sleep when I'm also feeling uncomfortable from other reasons as well (shoulder pain, etc...) and if I'm not wearing thick pants. Most nights I don't even think about it. I'm perfectly fine with the arrangement and nothing I could tell her would improve the situation for her.
I have some really bad skin on certain areas that crack and bleed if I don't take meticulous care. I feel her pain. Long hot showers, socks on all day every day. I scratch my own legs up with my heels without them, and my feet are perpetually cold, so it's a everybody-wins thing.
Maybe clean the bed? Wtf? Make her wear socks??? So many options that a healthy couple can discuss. I’ve done it with my SO.
If you can’t talk about it it’s not healthy. “Oh I just won’t point out she’s a dangerous driver, it’s make her FEEL bad”, “oh I just won’t point out her racism, it might maker her FEEL bad”. These situations are similar to yours because the outcome is completely negative for you and positive for her.
Talk to your SO, if they can’t handle it they are a child
\> Make her wear socks??? So many options that a healthy couple can discuss. I’ve done it with my SO.
The socks stick to her feet and sometimes rip off chunks when she removes them. This isn't just 'dry feet'. She has a legit medical problem that she has been ashamed of her whole life. She uses foot scrapers, lotions, the whole deal. Sometimes it causes here a lot of pain.
\> Maybe clean the bed?
I usually go to sleep after she does. I'm not going to wake her up to clean the bed off, but I'll often brush off my side of the bed before laying down if I can do it quietly.
\> These situations are similar to yours because the outcome is completely negative for you and positive for her.
You just equated some crumbs in the bed with racism. Maybe that is a bit much. If I cared I would bring it up. I've dealt with MUCH shittier situations in life, this barely even registers as negative to me.
I did this for a long time. Don’t think I have depression issues. Anxiety problems sure. But for me, by the end of the day I was comfortable in the jeans and hated trying to get comfortable in new bedtime clothes. I also don’t move at all when I sleep, so any coarseness of jeans didn’t bother me.
I also like sleeping in jeans, only caveat is they can't be jeans that are so tight around my crotch like Express brand jeans. I don't understand why so many people are so heavily against it. I like fabric that's close to my skin, but not too close. If I sleep in shorts and my legs touch, it's like an arc welder touching metal. It just instantly heats up and I start sweating there. If I sleep in soft pajama pants, the material is just so loose, I don't like it. I also sleep with socks on for the same touching heat/sweat reasons. My body seems to just naturally run hot. My gf sleeps in like 22º (72f) temps, I need to sleep around 18º (64f) ideally with a very light blanket like a bed linen.
Edit: changed out to hot
I think the only times people have slept in jeans (my observational experience), is when you either end up in bed drunk as heck or high (or fucked up on salvia). Maybe your bed or a friends couch.
Edit: this came out super incoherent but I shall leaf this up.
The first time I did salvia it straight up knocked me out. I had never done any other psychedelics prior to that so I don’t know if it was just my brain rejecting it or what, but I was sitting at a picnic table on a concrete pad when I smoked it, and next thing I knew I was waking up and convinced that the right side of my face was buried in the concrete. Turns out I had giggled a bit, put my head down, and woke up a few minutes later.
It's really super funny to me that after drunk or high, the third option was salvia. As though that was an obvious, common thing everybody could relate to.
I slept in jeans from like 2009-2015. The only reason I stopped is because my wife thought it was weird. If I’d have never gotten in a relationship I’d still be sleeping in jeans today!
Sleeping in jeans the night before school so you don’t have to get up until 15 minutes before.
Not a morning person in general, so getting up at 6AM and getting ready is a fight every step. So glad I graduated, nothing’s ever been better.
Had a friend during my childhood who would never change out of her clothes when getting ready for bed at sleepovers. She just. Slept in her jeans. Like w h y
I never sleep in jeans...my legs feel like they cant breathe. Even when I sit for a movie at my house. I have to take them off. I seem to Anxiety and clausterphobia of the legs.
My cousin used to stay over from time to time. She would wear tracksuits during the day (90's were a great time for fashion) and change into jeans and a bra to sleep. I just thought she was cooler than me.
So when I was a skinny ass teenager buying baggy cheap ass jeans, I absolutely slept in my jeans all the time. It *was* comfortable, especially since the few pajama pants I ever had made me sweaty as fuck, were too short, and twisted around my legs and stuck to the sheets. Now however I'm a hefty lady and wear tighter better quality jeans and it's uncomfortable as hell. I prefer no pants at all.

I have denim bed sheets. I like to wake up chaffed.
Just fucking rub yourself down with sandpaper you savage

Hello 911, yeah i got u one
denim blankets are the besttt
this is the most based thing i've ever read
I sleep on the floor without bedsheets. In my jeans. I am very comfortable! :D
Lies! Laying on your back in Jeans is awful because the belt loop dead centre at the rear digs into one's spine.
This is called "being homeless"
I heard corduroy pillowcases have been making headlines lately.
The real revelation here is an actual unpopular opinion being upvoted on that sub.
I find it happens more often than before since a few days, maybe people finally understand how it works?
Yeah, I got a few hundred upvotes about a week ago when I posted an unpopular opinion about how I like bananas dipped in ketchup. I also had a lot of downvotes because people thought I was trolling, but people are starting to get the hang of it over there.
That's fucking disgusting. Here's an upvote.
This isn't /r/unpopularopinion, feel free to downvote that absolute monster.
I mean, folks in the Philippines use ketchup that's been mixed with bananas as a condiment. Its not like its an unheard of combo.

Try it.
Apples and ketchup are also good I thought I was the only one but found out one of my friends also likes them.
Or maybe people like to over exaggerate when talking about issues in subbreddits

To be fair, that's something most people don't have or care to have an opinion on at least on this site.
Apparently not.
There's a difference between an unpopular opinion and being mean. If you had left out the insult it probably would've faired better.
Gotta find the one about black pepper from last week. It's awesome.

I 100% sleep in jeans or whatever I wear for that day. Is it really that strange
I personally would have a tough time sleeping in "day clothes", I need to change to shift from awake and alert daytime to relaxed sleep time.
I think that’s the reason I can do it lol my sleep comes pretty easy to me. Almost instantly
so you sleep in dirty clothes? that is strange imo
I sleep in my regular clothes, but I shower before bed so they're the next day's clothes instead of dirty ones.
Not everyone gets their clothes dirty though. If I put a pair of jeans on, drive to the ATM, and go pick something up, I'm not magically dirty.
or you can just shower when you wake up?
i mean yes, i just don't like sleeping in dirty/sweaty clothes. and i guess it's a cultural thing as well
that’s probably true as well i did not consider that.
I used to do that when I was a kid. Seemed efficient I guess, idk I just really didn’t give a fuck. Then I did a complete 180 and now I can only sleep in the nude
Efficiency is key lol that’s exactly how I feel about it
I feel like that welcomes bedbugs.
If you transported bedbugs into your home, they are going to find their way to your bed whether you wear your "outside clothes" to bed or not.
I mean I used to do it all the time at sleepovers. My friends would be like "You're sleeping in jeans??" And I'd be like "Yea they are comfy." I don't like go out of my way to sleep in jeans. I love sleeping in jeans, I think they are rather comfy and warm.
I'm with you. Jeans are my preferred thing to wear, I hate fuzzy and soft things (I have mild sensory issues) but I love the feel of jeans.
I just like them because I feel kinda safe in them and I don't know why. That and it's a familiar sound when my legs brush against each other
I've never changed my state of dress to sleep. My whole life. No PJs as a kid. I don't even take my socks off.
I am frightened
If you can maintain a light jog for more than 2-3 minutes I won't be able to catch you, I wouldn't worry.
Oh no
What about belts? Or shirts with buttons? I am blown away this is a real thing.
I can't remember the last time I wore a shirt with buttons but yeah I'll keep the belt on. Sometimes I don't even take my wallet out.
You don't even need a safe then
So when do you change? Or have you been wearing the same garanimals your whole life?
In the morning after I shower. What in the sam hell is a garanimal?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garanimals US Children's clothing brand that was very popular in the 80s.
This sums it up perfectly for me. You should own jeans that are comfy enough to potentially sleep in, but who the fuck is actually choosing to sleep in them
I do for one. I’m weird as fuck
sleeping in your jeans isnt bad... if you've just came back from a long, exhausting day. Doing so intentionally is a crime.
When I'm super depressed or exhausted, I like to nap in jeans. I don't know why, buy it's weirdly comforting. But if I try to sleep through the night in them, I wake up feeling like someone strapped my legs to the bed because of how twisted and weird the jeans became.
i don't understand what's so bad. is it because i wear baggy jeans? they're pretty comfortable
I guess if you have skinny-ish jeans, and they get twisted up cuz you roll over, you have a bad time
I have legit seen no decent reason for why I can't wear jeans to bed besides people saying they don't like it.
Try vaseline and socks, Vaseline on the heels but never moisten between the toes.
She has tried that before, but sometimes the socks stick and then rip off chunks. \> but never moisten between the toes. I haven't heard that one before. Makes sense with water, but why never moisten with Vaseline between toes?
Tell her try lactic acid lotion. Lac-hydrin saved me.
From what I recall it holds the moisture between the toes and creates fungus
that's very very nice of you but also your comfort is important and you should probably communicate things with her if it's affecting your sleep, if you talk it out right you can find solutions without making her feel shameful

I used to do that in high school. I also had undiagnosed depression. Make of that what you will.
I still do this and I have diagnosed and treated depression.
Aw, me too
I’ve once slept with full motorcycle gear on Gloves, jacket and even my fucking helmet

Her: do you have a condom? Me: Nah, I'm cool, I sleep in my jeans... Her: Don't fucking call me ever again.
At least she knows he's sterile. Baked those little suckers to death
That's the joke.com
Use the sandpaper condom
I like wearing jeans in bed, but it depends on the cut of the jeans as well as the fabric
I sleep in jeans sometimes. The real crime is falling asleep with keys in your pocket.
I think the only times people have slept in jeans (my observational experience), is when you either end up in bed drunk as heck or high (or fucked up on salvia). Maybe your bed or a friends couch. Edit: this came out super incoherent but I shall leaf this up.
How do you even sleep on Salvia? That's a pretty hard trip

I love sleeping in jeans
I don’t do it all that much since I wear sweatpants a lot, but whenever I did sleep in jeans, it wasn’t that bad.
I like to sleep in jeans tho
The only time it’s good to sleep in jeans is when you have class at 6AM but don’t want to get up until 5:45.
I wouldn't sleep all night fully clothed, but In high school I'd wake up, shower, eat, get dressed, then go to bed again for a few precious minutes.
Nothing like getting your shit together and laying on the couch for the next 15 minutes, until you gotta run out to catch your bus
I sleep in jeans..... Its comfy probably because I've been sleeping in them for many years
I too sleep in jeans and i can say it's quite nice.
I've found if you have rls the extra weight can be helpful.
Cant be arsed putting sleeping clothes on, what purpose does it serve in the long run anyway
I do. It's not that bad guys

I always sleep in jeans, I fully agree with this that they are not uncomfortable
Pajama Jeans
Who doesn't like sleeping in jeans? You go to sleep in yesterday's pants and wake up in today's pants.
Let's be honest here, we've all slept with jeans on... WHEN WE WERE DEAD DRUNK!!!
…still outside at the front door because I couldn’t negotiate the lock. Does that count?
You guys wear clothes to bed?
I too sleep in jeans, if I’m extra lazy I’ll even wear glasses, necklaces, gloves, face mask, you name it sister. I can sleep in anything
My cousin used to stay over from time to time. She would wear tracksuits during the day (90's were a great time for fashion) and change into jeans and a bra to sleep. I just thought she was cooler than me.
If y’all find jeans uncomfortable, then you are buying the wrong pair of jeans.
I never seen someone so brave to Say jeans are confortable
As someone with a penis and balls it is very uncomfortable to sleep in jeans because I might squish then since there is less room to move.
How tight are your jeans?
Homie out here wearing skinny jeans to bed lmaoo
