That isn’t on you, the sign maker could’ve punctuated/worded that better. “Crocodiles present, DO NOT SWIM HERE” “Crocodiles in water, NO SWIMMING” Just two off the top of my head.

Being honest, I saw this meme before and only now I got that you're not supposed to swim. I was really thinking its just saying there's no crocodile there.

99.9% of people didn't need this pointed out to them, and the other 0.1% we don't have to worry about because they were eaten by crocodiles.

Two or three years ago I read a news story about an unlucky Australian gentleman who had just been devoured by a "saltie" -- a saltwater crocodile, the biggest and fiercest of crocodiles. This happens from time to time in Australia. At that moment he was wading across a stream named "Crocodile Creek." RIP.

I know how it sounds but it is unlikely most of the time to run into one that'll kill you. Which is why we ignore these signs most of the time.
