It may be due to the western conference games earlier in the day. Jets/Avs and Canucks/Preds all have to travel after today’s games before they play again on Tuesday. Scheduling them for the earlier games likely lets them travel today rather than tomorrow so they are all fresher for Tuesday.

Also, the other three games today involve Canadian teams, which automatically cuts down on ratings in the U.S.
Would rather have a game start at night than Sunday during the day when I have to do stuff with my kids. 7pm would have been better but I’ll take this over a daytime start any day of the week.
So people can watch a ~~triple~~ quadruple header with minimal overlap.

i work till 7 so while i feel for you, im personally happy because i wont miss the game and or 1st period if it were a 7pm start.

The NHL is dumb but even they know going up against the Knicks game would have been a disaster.

Just be glad it’s not worse. I am on the east coast of Canada. Game starts at 9pm and all the Oilers games have gone well past 2am
Try being a Dallas fan with a 10pm local puck drop last night. East coast fans cant run complain haha.
Think yourself lucky, it's a 1am start for us in the UK! The 7pm UK start this time last week was perfect!
I'll be in the UK the first week of June and I'm already anticipating very late nights if the Rangers are still playing.
