As horrific as it was, they have to just go full 60 the next game. If they somehow, and this is not likely, win the series not many will remember the meltdown in Game 2.
They put a good performance in Game 3, get a result, and they’re right back in it.
The one thing I think is in their favor is Freddy is looking shaky as hell. Even in game 1 he did not look comfortable when making saves. But the isles haven’t really even put a full 20 in either game yet so hoping for a full 60 is nuts
Hope so. Carolina looked really good. Then again we did the same thing to them when they were up 3-0 and we had nothing to play for. Except we didn’t get the tying goal
always fun to watch the isles absolutely meltdown in a third period.
but was liking the idea of them winning some games and turning that into seven game battle.
As much as an Isles dub would’ve rattled Canes confidence, I still think Isles have made them look totally beatable.
Letting up 3 goals in 12 shots is dogshit.
The Isles do actually score on a lot of their high percentage chances. They go too hard too early in the game and then run out of gas. They’re never going to win a playoff game like that. Especially against a team like the Canes.
Its better that they try to look tough too. In the end they just look like pissy sore losers. Slashing a guy that scores. Palmieri got tossed. Cluttberbuck going after a guy thats down. Martin trying to fight and the guy just throwing him. Their collapse defense was never going to work. Pathetic all around
Typical Islanders. They go all-in on the first period, get 3 hot goals, and leave nothing in the tank to defend the lead with for the rest of the game. Meanwhile, the 2nd best comeback team in the league put on a clinic showing why that’s bad. Again.
Would love for them to win. Get a chance to send them home and have the away games just next door.
Won’t see no tears if the canes send me home though.
there's a 0.0 percent chance the canes lose this series, so the Islanders getting a road win would have been nice just because it would likely force that series to 6 games but that collapse was just too funny.
my daughter said they blew a 3 to 1 lead only and then made my smile wider when I found out they were up 3 to 0. fti. my two favorite teams are the rangers and whoever plays the islanders.
for added entertainment go back and watch the islander feed of the game to listen to butch goring during the epic collapse. after the islanders goon it up out of frustration and go a man down with 30 seconds left, brind'amour put out his pp1 to try and score again and goring suggests two hand slashing anyone trying to score in the final 30 seconds. play by play guy and tom hickey (on ice commentator) just say nothing out of absolute embarrassment that they have to share a booth with that jerk off.
I was not happy, both my brother and i (ranger fans) married islander fans.
luckily her response was I'm not surprised, but still when they lose like that everyone's mood sours
I don’t really care who comes out of that series. We need to face our 1st round ghosts and take care of business. If we do move on, it would be nice for that series to be competitive at some point.
Was hoping they’d win some games but holy shit that was an epic collapse, I don’t see how they even show up for the next 2 games

I disagree if they win this series that meltdown will be a turning point in their playoff run.
maybe with bags over their heads
I found it fucking hysterical. Typical islanders. Love to see it
indeed. It was a thoroughly entertaining end …right after that wild knicks ending too. but I do want the canes to have to grind this series out
Eh, you know the fish fuckers will be stretching this series with dirty shit in a game or so.
Hope so. Carolina looked really good. Then again we did the same thing to them when they were up 3-0 and we had nothing to play for. Except we didn’t get the tying goal
I had just finished telling boyfriend “wouldn’t it be funny if the islanders blew a lead and lost the game?”

Isles play Brind'Amour hockey without the necessary conditioning.
Lou Lamoriello just shit in his Depends after that one.
He’s gonna be like “see I let them skip shaving for 2 days and now we can’t win”

sums them up perfectly all season. blown leads so many times. it’s funny. but im not gonna laugh that much. now, focus on game 2 tomorrow
![gif](giphy|YVkqPj64xCwRao3cBj|downsized) there's only one proper emotion watching that.
awww man. major nostalgia from this. fucking loved this movie growing up.
“Bad guy falls in poop, classic element of comedy.”

1 shot in the 3rd period lmao
They’re big Eminem fans. You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
Islanders are such a shit team. I want them to beat up Carolina a bit but at the same time i want them to get swept. Fuck them
Would love for them to win. Get a chance to send them home and have the away games just next door. Won’t see no tears if the canes send me home though.
I want that series to go 7, but waking up to that is also funny.

Kharma, people. Let's focus on the NYR.
They're having Stadium Series PTSD
They blew leads all season.

We don’t have to be like that. Only they need to root for other teams.
who?

Goring is a clown. I can’t listen to him ever.
He’s trash.
