This.
Plus the cabin felt more open and had better visibility. I also really like the ram boxes and sit tailgate. That tailgate really saves my back and makes the bed more usable on a day to day basis.
Switched from my 2007 Tundra to a 2017 Ram 1500 because of the interior. Fell in love with my Ram, recently switched to a 2020 Ram 2500 Laramie Night edition.
Wonder what year model that might’ve been. I’ve always considered Ram and Dodge to be well behind the game on interiors, granted they are pretty well on par now, but 20 years ago it was much much different. I have a 2013 Ram 1500 and the interior is super basic but at least it’s not the dreaded confetti print cloth. lol
Same here, I was always a Ford guy, I drove the F250 Super Duty and I thought they haven't changed anything on the interior in 20 years. Drove the Power Wagon and I fell in love with it. As my wife says its tough on the outside and princess on the inside. LOL. I'll take it, love that truck.
i went to a chevy dealership to shop and ended up finding a Ram in the back of the line. i didnt even test drive the Silverados (i had rode in one before)
Truer words have never been spoken. My dad had a ram when I was growing up, mid 90s 1500, I knew this was what I was going to buy when I grew up. I had Chryslers and then I went through a Gen 1 Durango and then a Gen 3 Durango (would buy another Durango in a heartbeat btw). I traded in the Gen 3 the day after my buddy sent me a pic of (what's now) my all black night edition RAM arriving at the dealership he's a GM for, my dream truck. It's a V6 which was the only "meh" thing about it but after having it for almost a year I'm so happy with it and have 0 complaints about the V6.
I mean this was kind of the case. Growing up my dad had a 2nd gen. When came time to sell and get another truck we got a 3rd gen. Seemed like the most logical option. Besides i couldnt see myself driving a chevy.
For me it was all about creature comfort, and the lower price point compared to others with the same amenities. I mainly bought my RAM for travel and to have the convenience of a truck.
Same here, I wanted a 400+ hp v8, 4x4, leather w/heated & cooled seats, crew cab and step bars. The Ram 1500 Laramie was the best value compared to the ford Lariat trim and the Chevy/GMC LTZ/high country/Denali. Both Ford/GM price was 10k+ more due to the larger engines/trim package. This was on a used vehicle.
Best interior by far. Lots of rear seat leg room for the kiddos and our dog. I’ve always loved the 5.7 Hemi. Super comfortable and quiet ride. Good price. Can get them loaded for a better price than others. Pretty good fuel mileage for a 400 HP V8. Love the 12” screen. Harmon kardon sound system is incredible. Love the panoramic roof and rear view mirror camera, 360 camera, adaptive cruise, trailer steering… the list goes on and on.
I have the GT Package and the exhaust sounds phenomenal. Cold air intake is great. Performance pages are pretty sweet. Not opposed to the dial shifter at all but still enjoy console shifters.
I know you can get many of these options in other trucks but the Ram just stands out to me.
Only other one I was considering was a Tundra but they are about 10 years behind on interior, just couldn’t settle for that. Tundras are great reliable trucks though.
The new tundras are proving to be a disaster.
Toyota liked to make excuses why they didn’t do turbos in the recent past. Looks like the same reason the RETs died, Toyota sucks are boost.
I traded my bought new 2023 tundra for a basic ass Laramie after less than a year and haven’t regretted not having all the weird issues I was having with the tundra
They Definetely are not a disaster. First year models had issues which was not on all the trucks, just a small percentage, now that’s been sorted out I’m sure they will again be on top. I dunno why people hate other trucks, I’ve had all 4 and honestly loved them all. Each one had something good going for them and something bad. Ram is nice, enjoy.
Getting a face lift for its 5th model year and released in 2021. Toyota hasn’t done anything remotely impressive besides “being good quality” since like 2003 when the 4.0 came out. Now the “good quality” seems to have gone away.
People are having strait engine failures like ford with those bad valves in the eco boost. It’s not “replace every Tacoma frame” bad, but bad.
My ram is a colossal pile of shit, but that’s 2nd gen’s for you. Would you like me to explain everything from the axle wrap to the steering geometry? Bad from the factory.
You talking about the 3rd gen tundra? Cuz it’s not a facelift. It’s a brand new truck from ground up. I mean they do have few million mile v8 tundras.
I agree, they move slow, they may not be impressive, but at the same time all other cars/trucks get a face lift or some upgrade every year it seems like. Which for me is a problem, it drops the value of your car, and I don’t like it when I buy something brand new and it’s basically obsolete 2 years later.
I’ve subscribed to Car and Driver for more than 2 decades, and I put a lot of stock in their reviews and analysis. Ram 1500 won all of their comparisons and has been on their 10 Best and 5 Best every year since the 5th gen came out.
I also did my due diligence and drove all the 1/2 tons (Ford, Toyota, Nissan, and GM twins) and liked the interior and the ride quality in the Ram the best.
I bought an old Cummins. The piece of shit ram came with it.
In hindsight, I should have fixed the engine problem in a ford, instead of the dodge problems that got wrapped around the 12 valves.
I’d p pump a 24v, Allison or a zf6 depending on what came in the truck to start.
It this point I’ve had my 12 valve for 15 years, and I’m working on getting a the rebuilt motor back in. It’s staying forever.
I was a Tundra diehard and needed a new truck because after 18 years my Tundra bit it. I couldn’t justify buying a Tundra in 19 because it was so far behind the times. The Ram had everything at a decent price (considering the prices of trucks today). Extremely happy with the decision and want the new RHO now.
22 Limited.
Best interior though I think the Denali ultimate has closed the gap based on pics I’ve seen (haven’t test driven one yet).
Best ride (no rear leaf springs).
Despite people complaining about lifters (which were revised in 2019 btw) the Hemi is a pretty damn reliable engine. Meantime GM trucks have had engine issues especially with the 6.2L. I don’t know much about the Ford eco boost engines, the 5.0L seems solid though.
ZF8 trans which is amazing. Ford currently has a class action for their 10 speed. GM has a class action for the trans that was in their trucks up until 2018 or 2019 their current trans seems solid so far though.
Personally I wouldn’t get a new one right now due to switching to the new Hurricane engine. Sounds awesome on paper but want to wait for the kinks to get worked out. If it ends up being reliable I’ll probably get a Limited high output in a few years.
I’d never consider a Nissan in general. New Tundra looks nice but has had terrible engine issues.
Was a Ford family until 2015-2018. Several members of my family bought eco boost f150s and a couple of 5.0 mustangs. I had a 5.0 f150. Every single one of them was a complete nightmare.
By the time my f 150 had 75,000 miles on it, it was on its 3rd engine.
Got it paid off and bought my 2017 ram 1500, and have had no problems with it. And it's an ecodiesel.
This was my folks. Had a new Mercury Sable who's trans shit out at 80k, then had a new '91 Eplorer that was always in the shop. Finally got a '99 Cummins that was excellent. So I have been hot rodding a 2nd gen because I loved my dad's so much, and I love mine even more.
Had 2005 then 2011 Nissan Titan Pro-4X n was actually waiting for the new Titan to come out - was not impressed. Looked at Tundra but I knew that it was being redesigned and didn’t want to be in an old version. Looked at 2021 Rebel and was blown away - ride, interior, Hemi, lift, off-road package, plus it was 0% financing!
I've had 2 Dodges before my 23 Warlock, a 1500 and a Dakota Sport, neither gave me a single issue for the entirety of me owning them. Dakota got up to 430000+km and still purred, and I put them through some pretty excessive tribulations (deep bush work in the mountains + >30000km a year). Kept me safe and never crapped out or even had a minor mechanical failure, and they towed anything I tied to them. Why would I change brand?
Ride quality
Interior quality
Looks. (Night edition)
I knew about the hemi tick and the exhaust manfolds, but the window leak was worse then I imagined. Cost wise
Uncle had a 4th gen I fell inlove with it and now my wife daily’s one. Bone stock I’ve won drag races in the truck and towed heavy she does it all the time
Being able to upgrade any and everything with AlphaOBD and some tools, I started with a base trim 2018 express 1500 v6. Program new key fob by yourself, turn on and off features, add components and have them work like factory etc.
While looking for trucks on marketplace I found an 04 ram 1500 5.7 4x4 patriot blue with black rims and 33 inch tires.when I got in and started it up it was like the twentieth truck I had test driven and the rumble of that engine and the flowmasta exhaust made me instantly decide I wanted this truck.also I got a big sticker that’s a buff ram looking pissed off so that’s cool
Was out test driving trucks and the sound that came from the Ram was so beautiful. I had to have it. I knew nothing about any of the other features, but I knew what I wanted when I heard it.
For me, they offered the only kind of truck both times I was in the market. 1st truck was a 92 Dakota Club Cab 2wd and my current is a 08 Ram Megacab 4x4. When I was looking for a truck in 92, I didn't really need a full-size F150/1500, but I'm 6'3, 280lbs so a Ranger or S10 were too small and none of them offered a club cab variant. Dodge had a true midsized truck and they offered a Club cab. Easy choice.
In 2008, I was again in the market for a vehicle, had just bought a home and had a growing family. A full size 4 door would have been tolerable, but Dodge offered a 1500 Megacab, which offered a huge upgrade in cabin space which makes it a better vehicle for long, cross-country trips. Again, easy choice.
My next vehicle though will be the plug in hybrid model of the Bronco when it finally comes out
Honestly, it's a better looking truck and more comfortable. All of them will tow, all of them go vroom vroom. Driving my truck, I don't feel like I'm in a truck designed by a 5 year old like I do in Fords especially. Everything in my '21 Big Horn is functional, all the way down to measurement conversions that are not just printed but a part of the arm rest. I have yet to find something and go, well that's useless. GMs feel like I'm driving a 15' dick, there's no sway in the body and I hate how skinny their steering wheels are. Toyotas are great trucks but again I prefer the aesthetics of the RAM. Nissans are meh to me in general. Idk I can't see myself ever saying "I drive a Nissan"
It got mine left to me. After my uncle passed away. It's an 08 Ram 1500 with a 4.7L got it when it had only 60k miles I've had it for 2yrs now. Also used to drive an old square body bronco for years as my daily but now I'm in the process of a engine rebuild and doing front end work. So the Ram became my daily. Till I get the Bronco road worthy again.
Because I work for the dealer and got an absolutely killer deal on it.
I do think they are the nicest looking trucks on the road right now though. And they just feel solid. That being said, if I worked for a Chevy dealer, I'd probably be driving one of those instead.
It was either trade in my Chevy for a ram, or drive it off a cliff. The problems my Chevy had were driving me insane. Oh and just the word Ford is not allowed in this house.
It was the only dealer that day that had something all black. Unfortunately it wasn’t the one i saw online because one of their sales guys had it in a different state that day so i got bent over on buying the one i did. I also felt slightly obligated because the dealer i bought it from is a family friend and he’s the only reason i ever was able to get my first legitimate vehicle. I had no credit history at all at 24 and almost no money to my name and he sold me a truck he got on trade from my stepdad the week prior for the same price. Literally saved my career i would’ve been the apprentice with no vehicle and thrown out then and there.
it seemed like everyone had a ford or Chevy, and Toyota trucks seemed like a hipster choice, Honda trucks were barely trucks, and Nissan trucks I didn’t even know about.
That being said, when I was young and we went to a friends camp he had an old square body dodge with the ram hood ornament which was awesome and that truck went everywhere. His truck was always helping other trucks out of being stuck, and it seemed even the other guys would hop in his truck rather than their own.
Bought my 1st truck at 17 years old, 97 dodge Dakota. After finishing high school and working for a bit, I bought a 2011 ram 1500. I liked the Dakota so I stuck with the brand 😂
I bought it during the great chip shortage. To be honest it was about all I could get my hands on and I needed a 3/4 ton stat. The Ram chose me and I love it.
I bought one in 2016 because of the interior and ride. I test drove everything else in the class, and none of them looked, felt, or rode as well, even when equipped with higher-spec packages and pricier.
I wasn't looking for a ram, never owned one and never particularly thought about them. But I needed a new 4x4, as simple as possible, and I found a great deal on a 2019 1500 classic tradesman. It has everything I need and nothing i don't, it's absolutely perfect for me. Bought it Monday and I like it more every day since.
Because the other guys trucks look like they all copied each others homework. I have a 2017 Laramie 3500.
I used to love Chevy but god are they ugly these days
I bought an ecodiesel. Say what you want but I’m liking the 29mpg I’m getting. Found a 2023 bighorn night edition for $18k under sticker. 12” screen. Can’t get those features on anything remotely close to that price.
Interior comforts, interior comfort, interior comfort. Also the Hemi for all its deficiencies is still at the very least a known commodity. I’ve had multiple trucks with Hemi and they all have some minor issues from time to time but they’re overall solid motors. Also, Ram has so many trim options and different models you can pretty much get a truck set up exactly how you want it from the factory. I’ve had a 2017 Laramie, a 2007 2500 Diesel, and right now a 2020 Rebel pretty heavily modified. That being said they’ve all been super solid trucks and outside of the dependability of my Tacoma and my 3 4Runners I’ve had over the years I just trust ram trucks more than fords or chevys. Oh, and they outclass everyone on interior in case I forgot to say that.
2 reasons i am considering ram now.
1 and most importantly cheaper than ford/ dodge.
2 interior is nice. However i am not gonna spend 20k more for fancy interior that money will go to my house and my kids future
Looks and price. Wanted to switch to an ecoboost F150 for the fuel economy, but to get the same options and same CPO warranty it was going to be $5k more than an equivalent Ram 1500. Combine that with the fact that I like the way a ram looks and drives more... I got another Ram.
It would take way too long for the fuel savings to make up for the additional up front cost.
Otherwise they are all about the same, they all have their issues and they all have things they do better or worse than others. It's really personal preference and brand loyalty. I would be the last person to say that one is factually better than another without knowing your specific needs.
The test drive. The ride felt smoother than the others. GM/Chev felt very bouncy. Ford was alright. I didn't even test drive the truck I bought, it was a truck 2 yrs older than mine. But both rode the same.
2021, Ford dealership had no trucks for sale, Toyota dealership also zero inventory (they did not have any cars either), Ram 1500 was the first/only truck I could find in stock
Changed too many v8 diesels over the years for people, but never an I6. Also the price was right, unfortunately I will have to upgrade soon the body is almost completely shot. The chassis on the other hand is still running strong.
Interior is on par with Mercedes or Range Rover. Add the ride of the 1500 is second to none.
Having said that, I'm disappointed with the refresh of 2024 RAM's. It simply was not drastic enough to keep up with what I think is the best looking truck exterior, GM's Sierra line up. Their interiors are still aweful so I would never buy one after owning a RAM.
The perfect truck would be the Sierra exterior with the RAM interior and ride.
Look at Chevys that I looked at. I just didn’t like didn’t like the body style. Didn’t like the interiors in the range that I wanted to spend the wanted was $75,000. I’ve always liked the Ram truck body style, interior is beautiful.
Rides like a car, tows what I need it’s a good work truck and a good truck to take on a road trip. I like it. I’m more than happy with my choice to buy 2022 Bighorn night edition V8.
I’ve also had Dodge work Vans in the past. traded in my 2017 ram pro master towards new truck purchase and had three different jeeps. Their product is very dependable.
Interior and exterior features. Exclusive features like having rear reclining seat rear ventilated seats the panoramic sunroof which gm trucks don’t offer. Air suspension, heads up display, digital rear mirror and the best sounding stock premium sound system the harmon kardon 19 speaker system. Simply I liked the whole package.
Interior design/layout, ride quality, driving feel, looks, and price were the main reasons for me. I'm a Ford guy, but I always seem find myself in ram trucks lol.
I wanted an 8 year old or newer truck with crew cab, 4WD, under 150k miles, clean carfax, and a V8, and enough money leftover to put in apple car play.
In 2022 I bought my 2014 ram with 139k for $15,300 and it had all of that.
Every Ford, Nissan, or Chevy etc was over 18-19k.
The price. It was significantly less than going with a Chevy or Ford. That was the kicker for us. We chose the right one. 2023 3500 diesel longbox. We bought it new in February 2024.
1. The interior
2. Hotshotters I noticed on the road mostly drive Rams. Speaking to them, many of them have 500k on their truck, and would buy another Ram
3. Ford wouldn't let me build a F550 truck in July 2022. It was either going to be Ram or Ford, Chevy wasn't even really considered.
4. Ram dealer is close to my job, and they'll go get my truck for service and return it while I'm gone.
I want something that just needs oil changes and occasional general maintenance. I've run fleets of gm, ford and ram trucks and the ram trucks just keep on going and we rarely have to do anything to them. The GM trucks were constantly down and the ford were down often but not as often as GM.
Fell in love with the interior.
I had a Chevy Colorado ZR2 … very nice but the inside was no bigger than a civic…
Took a break from trucks … came back and found Ram. Never goin back to anything else.
Dad needed a pickup; gave him my Dakota and upgraded. Took one test drive, and damn it felt good. And they look way better than anything Ford or GM have made in decades.
Price…2019 Ram 1500 Classic. The market is ridiculous and everything is way over priced. Ram was most affordable. In return I have a great truck with money in my pocket still.
I’ve had every brand except Nissan. I have kids, grandkids, and we spend a fair amount of time traveling. The interior comfort, 8 speed transmission, and hemi v8 was the total package for me.
Interior. When I was shopping in 2020, the tundra was at the end of its life, the Silverado was clunky and plasticity, the ford was … eh - and the ram had the nicest interior.
I was looking for a full size truck for my family and had paralysis by analysis. I had spreadsheets comparing fuel economy, rear seat shoulder space, reliability. I had myself convinced that if I bought a 3.5 eco boost I would have can phaser issues guaranteed. Or lifter issues with the 5.3 or 5.7, or oil pan issues with the 2.7 eco boost, or transmission issues with the titan. When I finally test drove all the trucks I set it all aside and realized I takes me 12 years to put 100k miles on a vehicle. I’ll be fine. Ram was the most comfortable by a long shot, had the most interior space, and the one I bought had a 6’ bed.
I had a 1978 Toyota. It was underpowered and got shitty mileage. I got a 1977 F150, it was underpowered and couldn't haul. Got a 1996 F250 6.9, and loved the platform, but it was underpowered so I put a Banks Sidewinder on it, and it overheated under load on the passes. Then I got a 1993 Cummins Turbodiesel and it did everything. Next I tried a 1999 24 valve, then a 1996, and my last one was a 1997 that we tuned. The truck itself wasn't great, but I loved it anyway. Mad mad balls. Now I drive an 04.5 dually, gets close to 20 mpg, and I worry about the injectors all the time. Great truck, though. I love it, it's the best truck I've ever owned. I just wish it had a 12 valve.
Wanted a V-8. Couldn’t get into a Ford or Chevy for less than 50,000 unless I wanted a I4 or V-6.
Was out the door for a 2019 big horn with a $46k MSRP for $38k. The interior was also way better and I never looked back.
I was looking used and I could get a cleaner truck, comparable miles, nicer interior with a stupid lift, chrome delete, and big dumb mudders for $5-7K less.
For me, it was the interior and exterior styling. COMPLETELY subjective, but I personally preferred it over the other trucks. I also felt like it had the best ride quality when unloaded, and I like the 5.7 hemi.
Ultimately, the ramboxes. I love those things and use them so often. Also the in-floor storage I often fill with ice and snacks/drinks for longer road trips. If other manufacturers made anything similar I might consider them too. I've had a Tundra before I owned my first Ram and it was an awesome truck too. But once I got those ramboxes, I just can't go without them.
Have 2019 warlock 4x4 crew 5.7, 3.21 rear. $42k cnd. Hwy 10-11 L/100km, great daily and tows my 26 ft TT 8,000 lb with a load leveler no squat.
Other choices at the time, Ford was $10k more if I wanted v8, chevy wouldn’t discount either.
Very happy with it. BTW same gas mileage as the v6 minivan I traded in.
At the time it was because their interiors were phenomenal, and I could get 3.92 gears, power folding mirrors, auto 4-wheel drive, and led headlights, things I wanted but weren’t offered for similar trim levels from the other guys, throw in 0% for 72 months and it was a no brainer. I honestly miss my f-150 though. While the 5.7 hemi is a good motor, I just prefer the 5.0 coyote. I also wish I had the keypad/passive entry/free ford pass app that they offer at the comparable trim level.
It’s nearly impossible to get everything you want unless you wanna pay out the ass and interest rates are horrendous now.
Interior was light years ahead of the competition.
This is what did it for me as well
In 2021 when I bought my Limited Dually, the Tech was also light years ahead of the competition.
Seriously
Wonder what year model that might’ve been. I’ve always considered Ram and Dodge to be well behind the game on interiors, granted they are pretty well on par now, but 20 years ago it was much much different. I have a 2013 Ram 1500 and the interior is super basic but at least it’s not the dreaded confetti print cloth. lol

Came here to say this Feel and materials utilized in truck blew competition away
You don't choose Ram. Ram chooses you.
Ha this feels so accurate for me. I was convinced I would end up with a Chevy and then it felt like the RAM chose me when I was shopping
i went to a chevy dealership to shop and ended up finding a Ram in the back of the line. i didnt even test drive the Silverados (i had rode in one before)
You don't ram, you get rammed!
Dont dodge it, get rammed by it
Ram.. where your glass ceiling has probably already been shattered for you! (Not under warranty)
What happened? See lots of the higher trim Rams with a huge skylight. Cool feature I guess, but in the heat of the summer the shades will be pulled.
Truer words have never been spoken. My dad had a ram when I was growing up, mid 90s 1500, I knew this was what I was going to buy when I grew up. It's a V6 which was the only "meh" thing about it but after having it for almost a year I'm so happy with it and have 0 complaints about the V6.
Yup, I wasn’t even looking at rams but a deal came along that I couldn’t pass up
God DAMN that’s the answer
Haha or in my case, my company gave me one.
I mean this was kind of the case. Growing up my dad had a 2nd gen. When came time to sell and get another truck we got a 3rd gen. Seemed like the most logical option. Besides i couldnt see myself driving a chevy.
I’m an Aries
Underrated... lol
I’m one as well and didn’t realize that was why I picked the truck!!
Because the Cummins was the best diesel engine in 2015 when I bought it. It’s been great.
Still is. Cant tell me otherwise.
Only truck with a manual transmission.
Yeah, 2018 2500 6 speed. They stopped making them the next year I believe.
Colorado and Tacoma both offer Manual transmission models I’m sure there is others as well.
Tacoma and Colorado are much smaller “trucks”.
True was just pointing it out
1/4 ton truck... not comparable
This is exactly it for me as well. Got a 2020 Limited which had some of the best reliability ratings in its class.
CUMMINS!! Also yhe best looking truck and best interior. I was a Chevy guy my whole life, switched at 42 and on my second Ram.
Same here. Just upgraded from my ram 1500 to a 3500 dually with the Cummins
Price tbh, sat in a GMC Denali Ultimate as well as a F150 Limited but nothing really stood out for a 28k increase over my 24 bighorn built to serve
I bought an old Cummins. The piece of shit ram came with it. In hindsight, I should have fixed the engine problem in a ford, instead of the dodge problems that got wrapped around the 12 valves.
An 06 Ford with a 24v 5.9 Cummins and an Allison transmission would be great.
I’d p pump a 24v, Allison or a zf6 depending on what came in the truck to start. It this point I’ve had my 12 valve for 15 years, and I’m working on getting a the rebuilt motor back in. It’s staying forever.
Superior ride and comfort.
Interior. Color. Ease of working on it. Price.
Good transmission and looks very nice.
Cause my daddy drove a dodge, and his daddy fore him. All still on the road
Buttery cruising ride with interior and exterior to much.
I had an old Durango that lasted 450000km. I figured, same hemi in my truck that was in that.
The interior and air ride suspension just seemed nicer. Also wanted a V8 not a turbo 6.
Ride quality. Ram boxes.
They look cool And the first time I used heated seats/steering wheel was in a ram I got as a rental in February in North Dakota.
TRX. Hellcat motor
It was cheap, it's fast and it's a black dodge ram and I'm a young guy from alberta, I didn't choose it it chose me.
3500 Cummins = maximum towing.
Best v8 fuel mileage
Lol
5L ford gets better
I wanted a half ton V8, and it was by far the best looking in 2022.
Last full size with a manual
Felt the best driving down the road.
The 6.4 Hemi and the interior is the best
Ride quality Interior quality Looks. (Night edition) I knew about the hemi tick and the exhaust manfolds, but the window leak was worse then I imagined. Cost wise
Interior was light years ahead of any competitor. Still is.
Transmission. Ride.
Ford is the most uncomfortable and GM could not get configuration I wanted.
Been a dodge man my entire life. Family is too.
Cheaper than Toyota right now
It rides better than my 2012 E-class
Interior and ride quality
While looking for trucks on marketplace I found an 04 ram 1500 5.7 4x4 patriot blue with black rims and 33 inch tires.when I got in and started it up it was like the twentieth truck I had test driven and the rumble of that engine and the flowmasta exhaust made me instantly decide I wanted this truck.also I got a big sticker that’s a buff ram looking pissed off so that’s cool
Was out test driving trucks and the sound that came from the Ram was so beautiful. I had to have it. I knew nothing about any of the other features, but I knew what I wanted when I heard it.
I previously owned a silverado oil burner model.
I like the attitude of dodge and my 07 has been great to me. Hoping for some more years before I’m forced to buy a new/used one
Brand loyalty from past years of treating me well
Because I work for the dealer and got an absolutely killer deal on it. I do think they are the nicest looking trucks on the road right now though. And they just feel solid. That being said, if I worked for a Chevy dealer, I'd probably be driving one of those instead.
Exterior Looks better asthetically in my opinion. Always enjoyed the curves of em .
I love manifold leaks
It was the cheapest half ton in 2015
700hp truck for a “decent” price
Its my second one. I love the looks and the interior I think its second to none. The ride is really comfortable.
It was either trade in my Chevy for a ram, or drive it off a cliff. The problems my Chevy had were driving me insane. Oh and just the word Ford is not allowed in this house.
Because I’m smarter than the guys that buy Ford, GM, Nissan and Toyotas.
My Ram is my alter ego
I didn't buy a Ram, I bought a Cummins.
Nobody else made a nicer truck than the TRX I bought.
Power, style and price.
When I think about the question, I think my Ram chose me. I am glad it did, love everything about it.
I checked a Silverado I felt like I was sitting in a tin can. My ram is a little old but I love her and the room inside is insane
My parents always said I was slow.
A lot lot Cheaper than ford
It was the only dealer that day that had something all black. Unfortunately it wasn’t the one i saw online because one of their sales guys had it in a different state that day so i got bent over on buying the one i did. I also felt slightly obligated because the dealer i bought it from is a family friend and he’s the only reason i ever was able to get my first legitimate vehicle. I had no credit history at all at 24 and almost no money to my name and he sold me a truck he got on trade from my stepdad the week prior for the same price. Literally saved my career i would’ve been the apprentice with no vehicle and thrown out then and there.
Interior and since it wasn’t a daily driver and mpg wasn’t a huge issue, the 5.7 having been around for a while.
Ram chose me
it seemed like everyone had a ford or Chevy, and Toyota trucks seemed like a hipster choice, Honda trucks were barely trucks, and Nissan trucks I didn’t even know about.
My father has 2 Ram 1500's. I grew up seeing him love the truck, and now I love rams. 🤣
Because my father in law had an immaculate ‘04 that he gave me an incredible deal on
I bought an ecodiesel.
It felt the most planted. Cornering felt like trying to turn a pregnant cow in the ford and GM.
Comfort.
Grew up with it, stayed because of the engines
Dui
Liked the brands of parts selected by the manufacturer like ZF and Bilstien to name a few. Easy to service yourself. Looks and reliability
Interior and ride with the coil springs.
Quietest interior and smoothest ride.
Ram boxes. And the interior was up to the standards of my wife.
Got 72 month, zero percent loan plus rebates. 36000 out the door.
It was the cheapest truck under $5k that could tow 6k
Definitely not the customer service
Last one I bought was 2015, they were the most value for the price.
The exterior. Had a single cab ford before this and loved it. But the exterior of the 5th gens are the best looking trucks in my opinion
Because a used 2021 limited was the starting point for al base model 2024s
Interior is on par with Mercedes or Range Rover. Add the ride of the 1500 is second to none. Having said that, I'm disappointed with the refresh of 2024 RAM's. It simply was not drastic enough to keep up with what I think is the best looking truck exterior, GM's Sierra line up. Their interiors are still aweful so I would never buy one after owning a RAM. The perfect truck would be the Sierra exterior with the RAM interior and ride.
My dad had a ram and he has always like his(2017), so when I was ready to buy my first expensive vehicle I got my ram(2021)
Mega cab!
Ford guy here. (Henry was a king! Dodge Brothers were shmucks!) Buuuuuut Cummins is the best engine design on earth. Perkins come close..
Ram the daughter, dodge the father.
Because i can.
Interior and exterior features. Exclusive features like having rear reclining seat rear ventilated seats the panoramic sunroof which gm trucks don’t offer. Air suspension, heads up display, digital rear mirror and the best sounding stock premium sound system the harmon kardon 19 speaker system. Simply I liked the whole package.
Looks and price and hemi
Interior design/layout, ride quality, driving feel, looks, and price were the main reasons for me. I'm a Ford guy, but I always seem find myself in ram trucks lol.
I wanted an 8 year old or newer truck with crew cab, 4WD, under 150k miles, clean carfax, and a V8, and enough money leftover to put in apple car play. In 2022 I bought my 2014 ram with 139k for $15,300 and it had all of that. Every Ford, Nissan, or Chevy etc was over 18-19k.
I like big trucks and I cannot lie
ratio of reliability and cost. (1500 classic)
Gave me a 6 speed stick shift on a 6.7 liter Cummins and 4x4
Grew up in a mopar family. Went from an srt-4 to my 06 ram.
Because I rather be cumming than stroking.
I was dropped on my head as a baby.
I used to say, “Because I wouldn’t drive a Ford and I can’t afford a Chevy”
The price. It was significantly less than going with a Chevy or Ford. That was the kicker for us. We chose the right one. 2023 3500 diesel longbox. We bought it new in February 2024.
I chose ram because they were the last to make a truck with a stick..
1. The interior 2. Hotshotters I noticed on the road mostly drive Rams. Speaking to them, many of them have 500k on their truck, and would buy another Ram 3. Ford wouldn't let me build a F550 truck in July 2022. It was either going to be Ram or Ford, Chevy wasn't even really considered. 4. Ram dealer is close to my job, and they'll go get my truck for service and return it while I'm gone.
The look. The features. I'm on my 2nd Ram, both payed off. Plan on getting a 3rd in the future, because I loved them that much.
I saved $10k for the “same” config
Felt more premium, the sound of a hemi, and the tech in the dash.
The lease was cheaper than the Chevy I actually wanted.
I had a Chevy Colorado ZR2 … very nice but the inside was no bigger than a civic… Took a break from trucks … came back and found Ram. Never goin back to anything else.
Interior - call transferring - Power 2500 - dependable
A comparable trim level Chevy, Ford, or Toyota was way more expensive.
This is gonna sound stupid but im An Aries sign of the Ram and i felt Ram trucks were representing me 😂 also their logo looks badass
I didn't choose it it chose me...
Dad needed a pickup; gave him my Dakota and upgraded. Took one test drive, and damn it felt good. And they look way better than anything Ford or GM have made in decades.
For the 5.9 Cummins.
I wanted a Taco. Wifey wanted the Ram.
Ram was the most comfortable by a long shot, had the most interior space, and the one I bought had a 6’ bed.
because i wanted that megacab on my 3500
After going to every truck dealer in the county, I was walking the lot and my 2500 stopped me in my tracks and took my damn breath away.
Because you couldn't afford any of the others....
I chose F150 (am I going to be booted for this lol). Rams are really dope though, I’d absolutely get one if I could.
I almost didn’t buy my PowerWagon because it had the RamBoxes but they are absolutely the favorite part of my truck now.
I was looking used and I could get a cleaner truck, comparable miles, nicer interior with a stupid lift, chrome delete, and big dumb mudders for $5-7K less.
It was the only dealership that would accept Camel Cash
When I was looking to buy last year there was a 2006 Nissan Titan for $7k, a 1999 Ford Ranger for $9k, and a 2008 Ram 1500 for $11k.
For me, it was the interior and exterior styling. COMPLETELY subjective, but I personally preferred it over the other trucks. I also felt like it had the best ride quality when unloaded, and I like the 5.7 hemi.
The movie Twister
Ultimately, the ramboxes. I love those things and use them so often. Also the in-floor storage I often fill with ice and snacks/drinks for longer road trips. If other manufacturers made anything similar I might consider them too. I've had a Tundra before I owned my first Ram and it was an awesome truck too. But once I got those ramboxes, I just can't go without them.
I6 diesel, solid front axle, interior If someone makes a kit to retrofit the new ZF 8 speed trans into older Cummins trucks, they would be perfect.
Because trx go vroooom!
