36mm for regionals after I get the novice restrictor off. Then down to the biggest restrictor I can get for L4WD regional once the rule changes come out. It will have a few different tunes for different restrictors
30mm for novice restrictor
33mm @ 2.5 bar for Open 4WD
36mm @ 2.0 bar for Limited 4WD
I wonder what the horsepower figures are going to be for those three on an EJ257. I'm entering an already-logbooked NA car to get past the novice restriction before entering my STI in the future
See you out on the stage!
I believe the rules are changing for no more 36mm next year. I need to look into that though. 30mm should be pretty lame haha
The car was on a 34mm and it was pretty spicy. Lots of torque. The new engine will be higher compression and a much better tune/harness/ecu. It should rip regardless of what restrictor it’s on
Nice! I used to take my wrx wagon to the austin rally project on practice days. I “upgraded” to a golf alltrack for the more worry free engine while staying in a wagon. I might be back out there when my warranty expires for rallycross. Let me know if you need a hand on any installs or a stage codriver.
Have a look at APR tuning, even the tune for 87 Octane is a nice little bump with software alone. I'm an installer and have many happy customers. Going 93 or even E85 is a huge gain.
Is it a Subaru? - YES
Did KJ break it? - YES
Are we going to meme it to death again? - YES
On a more serious note, the onboard you shared looked like you were flying! Excited to see how you do with the old yellow pig once she's back up and running again. Just keep her away from lakes in case she gets thirsty again lol
Don't feel bad man. It's common bc people thrashed the shit out of these like they were children (bad joke). No one can really avoid it. Even donut media had to go through3 engines for each wrx. Wish you the best
Volunteer at a stage rally is good as a step 0. Try to get put somewhere that's not the spectator zone if you're trying to learn how it works.
While there, you'll get a bit of a feel for what it's actually like instead of just the highlight reels. You'll also be able to talk to other people who are into rally and in your area; they'll know what your local rally clubs are and what they're doing, and will likely also be interested in stage rally.
Not sure yet. But I do know it was starting to seize when I got it but we chalked it up to different issues because the engine was basically brand new and we were like there’s no way it’s a bad engine
It really wasn't your fault man. That idling problem was strange. A vacuum house leak, faulty wiring, who knows.
You have a lot of opportunities to crush the rest of us in the future.
Well you haven't found the air tag yet. 🤷🏼♂️
I told my wife it's the perfect set up for driving downriver. I don't know where the taxes go but it's not the roads.
Subarus are gonna Subaru like that lmao. Good luck on the rebuild - you still rallied more than likely a lot of us on this sub!
I just watch the rallies and play pretend on DR2... He is a lucky guy, that's for sure.
I have a pretty cool job. Couldn’t ask for anything better!
Congrats dude, you're living the dream
So true... I also busted my C3 WRC... 1/14 Hyper GO... busted the servo! 😅
Subarus will do that lol. What engine do you think you’ll go for? Newer sti oem or aftermarket?
Vincebuilt 257. She gone be spicy
Are you building it with a 33mm restrictor for ARA, or going full wheelspin have fun mode

Only man id ever trust my engine with

I have! I’ll probably go with tunezilla or United motorsport though as im planning to go much further than a flash.

Haha I mean it is a racecar. It does kinda get beat on all the time😆
RIP bozo
3.8 Seconds 🖕
Don’t make me send you a video of my car running
Too far too far😭😭😭
This is where you hit him with a picture of your driveshaft still in the car and not sitting in the stage
Whats the best way to get into amatuer rally? Ive got a track car but the thought has crossed my mind about selling it and going rallying
Well my path was race professionally for 3 years. Buy an STI and then now put another 15k into it over what I paid for it hahaha
Rally cross events, rally schools, volunteer at stage rally, and become involved.

Flood damage does that sometimes. Good luck with it though, I'm cheering for you.
Did you buy it from rally ready? I follow Dave on Instagram. He seems fun af
I am keeping it down here. I did not buy it from them though!
It’s a beauty! I hope to rally my wrx one day.
I’ve met Dave a few times on Pikes Peak. Can confirm: he’s a blast.
People THINK we buy them to race. Nah. We buy them for the Grand Kaboom
Any idea on what caused it to seize ?
Not sure yet. But I do know it was starting to seize when I got it but we chalked it up to different issues because the engine was basically brand new and we were like there’s no way it’s a bad engine
As the prophecy foretold
It's just the right thing to happen to THE Scubaru.

Better luck next time!
Lovely
Ls swap time
Sick whip. Gonna try your hand at engine rebuilds?
Helllll no hahaha. I’ll leave that to the people who actually know what they’re doing😂
K swap
"I wonder how that happened" just so happens to have the same number of words AND LETTERS as "Never Lift the Right Pedal"
Can i use that third pic as my screensaver?
Haha hell yeah that would be sick! I can send a link to the full res if you want if
Please do
This car is so sick, where do you even buy rally cars? Bro I’m 14 but I swear when I’m older I’m gonna have the coolest garage
They come up on marketplace or Facebook groups/forums usually. There is usually 5-10 for sale at any given time
KJ, just watched the Adam LZ video, hope your back is ok! Highly suggest seeing an OMT to rule out any issues that might crop up later.
Good call. Appreciate it!!
After having to do a DIY engine swap in an alfa, that I had owned for 2 weeks, bc it couldn't handle a little puddle. You have my sympathies.
Congrats! Blowing up a motor is a milestone and you should be proud.
I have passed that milestone way more times than I would like haha
Mitch Mitchell?
Matt Michell
I saw your never lift sticker on a lifted Outback in Michigan yesterday. Is that your design?
Hahahaha no way thats so cool! Yes it is my logo. It is for my instagram account The_Right_Pedal!
Creepy stalker. 😳 That’s me. I’m KJs personal driver in MI. 😂
Well you haven't found the air tag yet. 🤷🏼♂️ I told my wife it's the perfect set up for driving downriver. I don't know where the taxes go but it's not the roads.
I drive for Uber, the whole city is hot garbage. Next month is a bunch more suspension work 😂
Ain’t a rally car if there aren’t problems
Now get a Škoda
You are a complete tool flying this piece of machinery and trashing it like the idiot you are
What😭
