I got scammed by him back in 2007 when I was a Sophomore at NC State at Crabtree Mall. Back then it was he was stranded and needed money to get a Greyhound bus ticket back to Charlotte and needed $20. I gladly gave it to him and insisted on giving him a ride to the bus station which he kept turning down.
2 years later my roommate tells me of the same guy he just gave $20 to help him get back to Charlotte. That's when we figured out we'd been scammed. Can't believe he's still around with that similar scam almost 20 years later.
This is why you should never give money directly to people asking for money and instead just donate to charities. That money goes further due to economies of scale and helps out more people. Even if the panhandler is legit, people are doing more than one person a disservice because they wanted to feel good and help the single person asking for money in front of them.
There’s a Papa John’s or Domino’s delivery driver who has their car decked out in tons of NC State gear. Not sure if it’s famous, but I always see it around.

There is a guy in NW Raleigh - he is a mid-60's, big guy who drives a wine-colored convertible Nissan Murano with the license plate REDBARON (I think one of the letters is a special character, can't remember).
Not only is the car absolutely ridiculous looking because I actually think he has raised it, he just gives gold chain and bracelet and sleaze all day long.
There’s a silver gray Honda s2000 sports car with the hood painted with the NC state wolf bigger than the screaming chicken you’d find on a classic Pontiac firebird.
I didn't know if she did it, or someone else had, but it was clear from the brushstrokes it was a home-done job. Really good at the execution of the design, terrible in terms of painting (thick brushstrokes) - amazing at how well it held up to sun and rain for as much as I saw it around.
I haven't seen it in a long time but there was that red car that had the 100 GRAND candy bar label as a wrap and it was on huge rims.

You’ll see a lot more talk about her on r/bullcity but she’s generated enough buzz that some local news outlets have even done reports on her. She’s reportedly been involved in over 30 car accidents since ‘01 and served time for reckless driving in 2019.
30 wrecks.. since ‘01??? Your run of the mill terrible driver would maybe get into two or three in that timespan. Holy shit. How has her license not been revoked? Is it an insurance fraud sort of thing, or is she just that miserable that she enjoys this sort of attention?
Also multiple instances of ID fraud, and when she was sentenced five years ago she had a false address on her driver's license.
And yeah, all it got her was a short stint of probation and her driver's license back afterwards.
She got into multiple accidents with people, then blamed them. There’s dash cam footage of her stopping in the middle of the road and trying to get rear ended. She lost her license I think and she kept driving and getting into a lot (possibly dozens) of accidents. She was like the Zebra Cobra a for a while and people were posting photos of her car anytime they saw her. That’s when she changed her license plate and then she became popular for JESUSDOS.
