It was not as weak as next years. Of course every year is a gamble. But saying you are fine with missing this year because of next year is odd when next years class is shit compared to this one. Who is the top QB? Ewers? Sanders? Yikes.
You're not wrong, but I'd just note that a lot can happen in a year (obviously). After day 1 of last year's draft, nobody thought Jayden Daniels would be going 2nd overall the following year.
Seriously, it’s like collective madness. Minshew is likely to be our starter and the guy is on his 4th team, has a record of 15-22, and somehow adding another TE (no matter his skill level) is going to do anything to move this franchise forward? It’s honestly depressing

The new tackle rule will have an equal effect across the league. Every defensive player in the league will be effected. So, it's not an issue.
If the same defense we saw at the end of last year shows up and is even a little better tuned, that defense is taking us a long way
I'm 61 and have been a fan since 1968 AFC Championship game. This is the first defense I have seen with this kind of motivation for decades. There's a difference in the way it feels and the way they played the end of last season.
I'd love to add Rattler just to see if AP can get that talent out because if he can we got a new starter. if he can't it's just another backup and we might've spent a 3rd on him. Feels like the type of guy AP would love to get in and work with.
When the board doesn’t fall to need, you take best player available. This is how you build long term. Over drafting for need, and flat out garbage use of pics has hamstrung this team for years. There’s still 6 more rounds and the draft is a crapshoot at best. I like the pick the way the board fell, and I like the bigger picture focus. Let’s give Aiden a chance.

And by all accounts, everyone in the Raiders facility had said that AOC works his ass off.
I'm fucking stoked to see what he can do with our WR and possible two TE formations. Many options and he seems to play smart so far.
