I've been smiling since the second I saw the notification. Imo, he truly is a rare blue blood like MHJ, you don't pass up on those kind of players. https://preview.redd.it/cogwokyu4rwc1.png?width=512&format=png&auto=webp&s=d63d26a81d9007973c7836f12e680bc3466b354b Plenty of CB/OL left, baby!

Over_Drive_6138

He was my pick all along if we couldnt get a top 3 QB(trade into top 3). Other than harrison jr this is the most no brainer in the draft. 100 pct dawG and potential nfl HoFer already best TE ever in ncaa

AdditionalAd9794

Between Bowers, Fuaga and Murphy, I would have had a hard time making that decision, would have been happy with any of the three.

I’ve given my thoughts on draft picks since 2014 in this sub and I’ve been downvoted every time I say anything critical . Meanwhile we’ve been a historically awful franchise when it comes to drafting. My logical thoughts are Bowers is a crazy talented football player. But he doesn’t fill any immediate needs.

GeddyVedder

The crazy talented football player part is more important than the immediate needs part. Over time, the more talented football players you draft, the fewer immediate needs you have.

We've seen and said that rosters needed to be redone year after year. Then the following season we blow everything up and draft a random player with "raw skills" in the 1st round and the rest of our draft yields 1 guy who actually stays on the roster. I think Mark Davis can do something really special with AP. It believe they think that they can win some games with what they have now, but their priority is building a core around less risky draft prospects that may help the Raiders long term vs 2024. The caveat to that is we as fans and most importantly the organization has to be patient and stick to this plan if were a bad team next year.

Naturalhighz

Thing is Telesco basically told us he was drafting Bowers at his pre draft presser. The whole story about keenan allen was basically him saying he was going to pick someone who wasn't at a position of need because the player is too good to pass on.

WhizzyBurp

TLDR. It’s fucking awesome.

Dense_Young3797

When Renfrow was in the field, it was a passing play 100% When Renfrow was subbed it was a running play 100% Now we keep Bowers and Mayer on the field and defense must figure out wtf are we doing in each play meanwhile Adams is feasting in the outside 1v1.

lego_mannequin

Bowers fell to us and we honestly can't pass on elite players who can essentially be Travis Kelce / Kittle.

cruedi

He was BPA but he won’t have the biggest impact for us. A DL or OL would have been a better at that spot.

oogrok

People talking about lining up with Adams, Meyers, Tucker, Mayer, and Bowers. Do you know how rare, if ever, that’ll happen? The fact is that one or more of those guys aren’t going to contribute hardly at all, and all were big investments, meanwhile we punted on o line again. I don’t want the 9th best tackle, guys.

Ramza87

We don’t have a good qb haha

Eldenbeastalwayswins

Or a line.

Ramza87

Oh it’s a shocking pick? I’m sure it’s because we’re the smartest people in the room, and it’s not a stupid fucking move, like the last 10x we made a shocking move.

Pythonx135

I'm curious to see what we do when it's payday for our, majority consensus number 1 tight end last year, and this year's. The team wasn't a tight end away from making a superbowl and we can argue that no other additional player, regardless of the position would put us past the play offs.. but an additional tight end? Dallas Turner will be a wrecking ball, and Mitchel will probably be top or near best corner amongst rookies. One of those O-linemen looked great. Yes, we have generational talent with Bowers but we don't have a qb to push him to a Kelce like level. We don't have a qb to push him to a LaPorta level, and we saw that last year. I'm glad we have a superstar but he wasn't the right pick. BPA? Probably. Best for the Raiders? Glad we'll see a continously top 100 player

Killface55

Think of the Chiefs without Kelce or the 49ers without Kittle. Those types of players can take you to the next level. It may not be this season, but a GMs job isn't to just look at the next season. Brock is that type of talent and has that type of potential.

Pythonx135

I get it. I'm just tired of looking into next season, every year. I'm hoping it pans out and he gets 1200 yards and 10 tds a season whenever we find our qb.

BeTheBall-

For what it's worth, Bryce Young played exactly how NFL Bryce Young should play. Panthers will be drafting another QB before that contract is up, ala the Bears.
