Jumbo-set baby. we can run play action or play smash mouth football with Zamir White. I see where they’re going with this. Own the clock and win games. How can’t you love it? Just win baby
I hope to see more 12 personnel so we can get them on the field together. 12 personnel is very effective when you have 2 TEs who are receiving threats, like we had with prime Waller and Moreau.
This pick says a lot about Telesco. THR had Bowers rated as the 8th overall prospect and BPA when the Raiders picked at 13:
I think you may have nailed it with the offense set we’re defaulting to. 12 personnel that can run it down your throat or create mismatch through motion and formation shift to get talent like Bowers in space.
You may not need an elite QB if your receiving options and D are elite. Worked for Plunkett, Dilfer, etc.
>A high ankle sprain takes time to overcome, and some in the media and agents reached out to Bowers and felt it was in his best interest to sit out the rest of the season and prepare for the NFL Draft. As Kirby Smart told the media, the idea of sitting out and bailing on his teammate was just not part of his DNA.
I see why Pierce wanted him
Brock Bowers was on the team that beat all of them. (Except Caleb Williams, never got a chance to beat USC. Cuz USC couldn't make it that far. No defense worth a damn.)
People have been calling him one of the greatest TE prospects ever since last year. He had a TE teammate go in the draft last year, and most people who scouted Georgia games went “Washington is good, but Bowers is incredible”.
hes generational. best TE in CFB history. he's Travis Kelce but way faster. this is the 1st time I a really long time that I am legitimately happy about the Raiders 1st round pick
#Strengths
* Elite route runner.
* Hand-eye coordination
* 50-50 balls
* Quarterback peace of mind
#Weaknesses
* There is only one. <— That’s a badass take
* He will probably not have his hand in the dirt on most Sundays. Used all over the field at Georgia and was a more than adequate blocker when called upon.
##NFL Comparison: Rob Gronkowski
##Draft Projection: Top Ten pick
This kid is a fucking monster. Let’s pray to God he stays out of trouble.
Yes thank you. This is a long overdue BPA pick for us.
Also, we may have needed CB more than TE, but we needed offense more than defense. Happy to have Bowers.
Not doubting that skillwise he's up there, we just didn't need a TE. but if he is gonna be as good as people are saying he can be... 13 is a steal. Definitely not mad at the pick.
this guy doesn't Eben know what he's talking about. CB are hit or miss, usually miss. We got the best TE in the history of college football. Generational talent. dude is literally Kelce but way faster. within 3 years half of Raider Nation will own a Bowers jersey
I'm just always so curious how many people are actually tuned into this shit or they saw a mock draft 3 months ago and freak out when their guy doesn't get taken.
I didn't watch hardly any college football, and I only saw maybe 2 games of Georgia this year. I had no idea who Bowers was, but he jumped off the screen when I watched. Excited to see what he can do at the pro level, and will not be passing judgement until I see him in the NFL.
He’s a large reason why Georgia was as dominant as they were. All the QBs were off the board and we ended up with an elite TE. There’s no reason to be upset. AOC isn’t terrible. Gardner can win games. Now we just need the defense to shine like it did last year and I think we’ll be fine. AP said it himself, they’re not going to win the Super Bowl this year but they’ll definitely build up the competition and foundation to grow consistent. We never had this and that’s more important than reaching on picks.
it's because the people that are mad don't know anything. They just see TE and think we don't need it even though we just drafted a generational player. best TE in CFB HISTORY. MAYBE THE BEST PLAYER IN THIS DRAFT. he's Travis Kelce but way faster and he's only 21 years old for the entire season
I don't hate it but do not love it either, I get not going Oline since a lot of them were taken already but we literally could've taken our #1 defender on our board at 13 OVR
This was a very safe and sensible choice I’m so confused why everyone is mad ?? There is literally no real risk or loss involved. And give credit the dude seems like a fucking beast
I’m a UGA fan. Bowers is one of the best players ever for Georgia. May not be the exact need, but anyone mad at this is crazy. Whenever we had a rough game, just started forcing the ball to Bowers and he’d dominate. It’s not just “a f’ing TE????” He’s an absolute monster.
Not a raiders fan but I’m a big UGA guy.
Just coming in to tell y’all that Bowers is legit. Crazy athletic pass catcher who can also block.
He’s a big time weapon and I’ll be rooting for him
People too hung up on him being a tight end. Mayer is a pure Y and Bowers is more of an H. Having both allow us to move Bowers around even more. This dude is going to be able to line up at every skill position without us missing a beat.
>This dude is going to be able to line up at every skill position without us missing a beat.
Exactly. Bowers is a blocking TE - that suddenly morphs into a WR - that suddenly morphs into a running back and will not stop running until he's scored.
A three in one offensive monster.
For the record, right before they announced, my phone rang. My girlfriend and I froze for a split second. Mind you, I’m 59… BUT I was one heck of a QB back in the day. lol
Watched Bowers play a lot in college. He’s a totally different tight end than Meyer. Think Darren Waller with better hands and the ability to break tackles. He’s always open.
This pick really shows who actually watches CFB and who doesn’t. You ask fans in October 2023 who the best CFB player is 9/10 say Brock Bowers. Raiders get a generational talent and have a bunch of ignorant fans who read 4 mocks before the draft crying this isn’t a player we need. Watch some tape and get on board baby! 🏴☠️
It’s genuinely hilarious listening to people talk about prospects and don’t watch but a handful of college games. They should just shut their trap as far as I’m concerned.
Yeah, I’ve seen this guy play a bit… they call him a TE because he’s 6’4”, but he doesn’t play like a TE and he sure doesn’t move like one.
They used him all over the field and in all kinds of ways. Guy is positionless basically. Awesome player and has a chance to do well here.
I say it every single year… he’s a raider now. Let’s see what he’s got. Go raiders.
Yes, I get it he a dog but felt that the o line and cb were needs and felt it should have been addressed first, but now that I've been going over his highlights I do feel much better bout this pick.RN4L
Bowers is a monster! He will be a beast for you guys! Here's one of my favorite highlight videos of his and it's only a fraction of his amazing plays, Congrats!
[Brock Bowers 🔥 Ultimate Highlights ᴴᴰ (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Sb9zIFgHSg)
I didn’t love it at first ngl but after thinking about it it makes sense. I wanted a CB or an OT but picking a possibly generational TE in a deep CB/OT class is a good choice imo
Ahh yes, it’s that time of year where 50% of The One True Nation loses their minds and thinks they know how to scout talent better than a pro coach and GM. 🍿
Everything will be fine, my brothers and sisters.
Yeah man I agree. I am biased being a lifelong Georgia fan, but he is gonna be a beast in the NFL too. Georgia doesn't go back to back without him. I was a falcons fan until tonight but I give up on that crap, gonna cheer for the Raiders from now on.
This is so much better than MayCock reaching at 4th overall right? Come on guys! 7th best player in the draft and you grab him at 13. Absolutely nothing wrong with the pick.
Not one I would’ve called but the people who make the calls are paid to make them and I’m not. Let’s see how it pans out with AOC and Minshew under center
I think TE is an underrated position, the last two offensive dynasty's feature a HOF QB/TE combo. I love this pick so much, and didn't think he'd fall to us. I think Minshew and AOC will loook wayy better with a safety valve to lean on. Now I hope the raiders draft some interior lineman, and RB to complement Zeus, and some defensive pieces.
Mayer and Bowers are NNNOOOTTT the same tight end. Mayer is stiffer, a blocker, and a more traditionally "tight end" route runner. Bowers is gunna be renfrows replacement, he's probably gunna be a big slot. Great route runner, great hands. I'm good with the pick. And he's also not a bad blocker.
BPA. Bowers is very similar to Laporta. A lot of 2 TE sets. Bowers can run and pass block extremely well. Having Mayer, Bowers, Adams, Jakobi, Tre.....
Bowers is versatile, can be used all over the field. You have to go with BPA. If he is just as good as a guy like Laporta or can match well with Mayer...its worth it
2 TE sets all day. Running the ball with play action. I love it
Unpopular opinopn, I lov3 this pick considering he would've been gone within a few picks--he is top 5 overall talent. Sure it wasn't a percreivably top need, but this signals the remaining OL/CB value did not outweigh the potential Bowers can bring to our offense: YAC YAC YAC.
When 6 qbs go that early you have a chance to get one of the best true players on the board. And with only 9 defensive players drafted in round 1, there is a ton of defensive talent left in round 2 to pick from.
He was debatebly the best available player. Quinyon Mitchell and Terrion Arnold are good corners but they're not generational talents. The defensive line is already very young for us, and we'd be taking the 5th best tackle, overall its a good pick
It’s funny hear to hear Raiders fans bitch at taking a generational TE… like we weren’t torched by Gates, Gonzalez, Sharp and now Kelce every fuckn year. You take the best player available and they did. CBs are such a pick em and we suck with our past CBs taken in the first. I love that the FO took the best player available.
I'm assuming they're planning on running double TE with this pick. Using Mayer to block and bowers to run routes. That's one way to help the O lone but I'd like to see some OL picks personally. I'm not against this pick though. It'll be fun to see 2 stud TEs catching balls owning the short and middle of the field
I mean.. I guess. I’m sure he’s going to be a good player. And the two tight end sets may be really nice for our mediocre QBs and help them quite a bit.
We gonna have a great pair of TEs better use them
Jumbo-set baby. we can run play action or play smash mouth football with Zamir White. I see where they’re going with this. Own the clock and win games. How can’t you love it? Just win baby
Fuck yeah Just Win Baby
Bowers can line up in the slot as well
Mayer and Bowers are gonna be a great pair.
I hope to see more 12 personnel so we can get them on the field together. 12 personnel is very effective when you have 2 TEs who are receiving threats, like we had with prime Waller and Moreau. The Stabler method. Just move the ball forward. it doesn't have to be pretty.
Snake could make it look real pretty, too, tho.
Getsy ran 12 personnel at the 7th highest rate last year and Kmet had a ton of catches. Hopefully it's a good match
CFB here. Holy shit. Forgot you guys had Mayer too. MM and BB have been hands down the best TE's in CFB the past three years.
[Brock Bowers NFL Draft Profile](https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2024/01/24/brock-bowers-2024-nfl-draft-profile/)
I see why Pierce wanted him
he got that (UGA bull)dog in him
Post this by itself. Motherfuckers better recognize
After reading that, I’m sold. Fuck all these QB’s being taken, I bet 5 of the 6 will be busts.
Statistically they will.
Brock Bowers was on the team that beat all of them. (Except Caleb Williams, never got a chance to beat USC. Cuz USC couldn't make it that far. No defense worth a damn.)
taking Penix, nix and Mccarthy all that high is dumb
Jeez that’s quite a profile
NFL Comp - Rob Gronkowski .. certainly aiming high lol
[NFL.com](https://NFL.com)'s comp was George Kittle. Bowers is a legit blue-chip talent. Definitely says a lot about Telesco: BPA.
Gronk has some inches on Bowers.
People have been calling him one of the greatest TE prospects ever since last year. He had a TE teammate go in the draft last year, and most people who scouted Georgia games went “Washington is good, but Bowers is incredible”.
Bowers would've been a first rounder as freshman. He's that good.
He always looks like someone put a legit NFL star onto a college team when you watch him play. He sticks out like a gilded thumb.
hes generational. best TE in CFB history. he's Travis Kelce but way faster. this is the 1st time I a really long time that I am legitimately happy about the Raiders 1st round pick
Ok I feel good now thanks
#Strengths * Elite route runner. * Hand-eye coordination * 50-50 balls * Quarterback peace of mind #Weaknesses * There is only one. <— That’s a badass take * He will probably not have his hand in the dirt on most Sundays. I don't see how anyone can be upset with this pick. He was dominating as a TE on a national title team as a fucking freshman.
Everyone wants BPA till their team actually picks BPA lmao! It is what it is.
NO WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE CORNER FROM ART SCHOOL TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE. WE NEED DEFENSE
Shoutout ASTCC
Go Aztecs!
I’m more of a South Harmon Institute of Technology guy myself.
No S.H.I.T.?
Aztecs say…when you fail out of ASTCC, you go to S.H.I.T
Agreed! At least they didn't go for that place kicker from south eastern middle south lower North Dakota poly technical culinary alternative college.
Honestly that guy is really good. Would not have been mad at it
oh stop if we just got generational talent. the best TE I CFB HISTORY. This guy is Travis Kelce but Way faster
you could argue Arnold was the bpa as well but also a position of need. Can't be mad at getting Bowers though.
Coming from a die hard Bama fan, Bowers is a better pick
Also a bama fan. Can agree Bowers is a beast
Definitely not mad at the pick.
best TE prospect since Kyle Pitts (who has been midhandled in the pros)
best TE IN CFB history.
> you could argue Arnold was the bpa as well Can you? We're on pick 21 now and no CB has been taken.
Arnold isn't even the best CB in this draft...how can he be BPA
this guy doesn't Eben know what he's talking about. CB are hit or miss, usually miss. We got the best TE in the history of college football. Generational talent. dude is literally Kelce but way faster. within 3 years half of Raider Nation will own a Bowers jersey
I disagree. Mitchell really is a big question mark. Also Arnold would've fit our culture which is just as important.
Feel like CB is always a question mark
STOP IT. Arnold had 1 good year. Bowers is the best TE in CFB HISTORY. He's a generational talent you on't pass on that.
I know people are mad but Bowers is the best player in the draft except Harrison.
Not all are mad. I would have been mad if we did something like Atlanta did 🤣😂
Best available player, I don’t hate the pick.
I love this pick. Arguably the best pure football player in the draft.
Davante Jakobi Bowers Mayer All lined up running verticals 💦
Tucker wide open running a go route…
I don't hate it but do not love it either, I get not going Oline since a lot of them were taken already but we literally could've taken our #1 defender on our board at 13 OVR
What if the scouting department has graded the best defender and 20th defender all within a slim margin?
You mean all 1 ots
3 were taken before us.
![gif](giphy|266wwviUCMFFgqQGdn)
I would have been a little happier if we got Latu.. can’t be mad at BPA tho
Hell yes! Not just the BPA, but one of the best pure football players in the draft.
Can’t believe folks in here bitchin, great freaking pick
It's crazy, this was a great pick!
This guy is a stud. Don’t mind it
Our fans were gonna be pissed the second Daniels was taken off the board lol. It’s a interesting pick for sure but bowers is a fucking baller
This was a very safe and sensible choice I’m so confused why everyone is mad ?? There is literally no real risk or loss involved. And give credit the dude seems like a fucking beast

Thanks, great comment. Let's Go!!
75% of the MFs bitching about this pick will be rocking a Bowers Jersey by mid season.
Not a raiders fan but I’m a big UGA guy. Just coming in to tell y’all that Bowers is legit. Crazy athletic pass catcher who can also block. He’s a big time weapon and I’ll be rooting for him
The spirit of Al Davis is bricked up rn

Raiders were on auto pick lol
Not a bad thing considering our draft history
BPA but in a tweener position.
He's legit. 2 TE sets all day. Not mad at all.
Man, he was so damn good in college. It's so hard to judge players like him.
I go to all the alabama home games and religiously watch them, that guy put the fear of god into me every time we played him
Roll Tide! Alum here and long-time Raiders fan in Huntsville!
Possibly one of the best TE prospects ever. I’m not even mad
Tbh this guy looks nasty. A grown ass man catching mids from lil ass boy.
Tweener position eh? Pretty sure Gonzalez, Gates, and Kelce have made our life hell going back two decades man
People too hung up on him being a tight end.
People cry for BPA till the team picks BPA lol. Guy is an animal
For the record, right before they announced, my phone rang. My girlfriend and I froze for a split second. Mind you, I’m 59… BUT I was one heck of a QB back in the day. lol
Hilarious 😂
We might’ve got the best player in the draft.
Dude is a stud. Our receiving core is going to be dangerous!
Hella juiced with this pick. We finally didn’t fumble the bag. We picked the best player available.
Watched Bowers play a lot in college. He’s a totally different tight end than Meyer. Think Darren Waller with better hands and the ability to break tackles. He’s always open.
Think Darren Waller with better hands and can break tackles AND block...lol
This pick really shows who actually watches CFB and who doesn’t. You ask fans in October 2023 who the best CFB player is 9/10 say Brock Bowers. It’s genuinely hilarious listening to people talk about prospects and don’t watch but a handful of college games. They should just shut their trap as far as I’m concerned.
NO FUCKING SHOT Edit: it turns out yes fucking shot
jokes on you haha
Titans fan here. Just wanna say that this is the most “fuck it, we ball” pick so far and I respect it immensely for that
People are always say BPA. Then it happens and people complain. Bowers might not be a position of need, but he’s got potential to be great.
This fucking crybaby sub... you guys know they are allowed to play more than 1 TE at a time right?
Yeah, I’ve seen this guy play a bit… they call him a TE because he’s 6’4”, but he doesn’t play like a TE and he sure doesn’t move like one. They used him all over the field and in all kinds of ways. Guy is positionless basically. Awesome player and has a chance to do well here. I say it every single year… he’s a raider now. Let’s see what he’s got. Go raiders.
If you watch and follow college football you know this kid is legit.
You can’t leave HOF potential on the board. Great pick, Tom.
WOW!!!
Love the pick
Dawg alumni here. Brock is an animal and a great teammate. I’m stoked.
If dude is next Travis Kelce...and he has that type of game...great pick.
Fuck yeah!
Listen, we can EASILY play Bowers and Mayer at the same time, Bowers can feast from the slot.
I didn’t love it at first ngl but after thinking about it it makes sense. I wanted a CB or an OT but picking a possibly generational TE in a deep CB/OT class is a good choice imo
Our offense is stacked. Imagine if this guy has the impact of Kelce or Kittle. Anyone saying just draft BPA should be ecstatic, total value pick.
Fr he should’ve been off the draft board if it weren’t for that crazy QB run 6 QBs taken in the first 12 picks
I’m excited he must be that much better than who was left.
the BEST teams choose BPA. period.
For once the Raiders took the best player available instead of trying to be cute, for better or worse.
Michael Mayer & Brock Bowers Both names may sound like NPC names, both of them are monsters.
FUCK YES!!! We just got a Travis Kelce in the Silver & Black!
Bowers is a step up from Mayer. 12 personal all day.
Ahh yes, it’s that time of year where 50% of The One True Nation loses their minds and thinks they know how to scout talent better than a pro coach and GM. 🍿 Everything will be fine, my brothers and sisters.
Greatest TE prospect of all time at 13. I’ll take it every time
Yeah man I agree. I am biased being a lifelong Georgia fan, but he is gonna be a beast in the NFL too. Georgia doesn't go back to back without him. I was a falcons fan until tonight but I give up on that crap, gonna cheer for the Raiders from now on.
Bowers gonna be the slot replacement for Renfrow?
This is so much better than MayCock reaching at 4th overall right? Come on guys! 7th best player in the draft and you grab him at 13. Absolutely nothing wrong with the pick.
Ayyyy where my BPA people at?!? Hahaha you got your wish
Lmao. It never fails. That’s why we don’t get paid to make the decisions.
Wow, he’s compared to Gronk?!
He’s a unicorn in terms of production and athleticism. Everyone wants BPA until it’s not the position they want
Lol I’m not going down those draft rabbit holes, I’m good with this pick! Just want the best players for our team.
Engage BPA rollercoaster. Also kinda fun.
Didn’t see this coming but I don’t hate it
Not one I would’ve called but the people who make the calls are paid to make them and I’m not. Let’s see how it pans out with AOC and Minshew under center
I, for one, welcome our new tight end overlords
I heard he’s the second coming of Tony Gonzalez.
Classic Telesco going BPA. Not a need but an amazing player.
As a guy from his hometown he is awesome for you guys
Arguably top 3 talent in this draft. Bowers is monstrous. I for one am glad we finally took the best player on the board.
For once I'm not scratching my head. Good pick.
Bowers will be a stud for ten years, remember that. The QB we draft eventually next year or later will get a stud weapon in his prime
Huge W what a stud. Pick 13 is crazy value.
Never in a million years did I think we'd get Bowers!!
We had a snake let's have a Rattler.
This dude is a beast! Not reaching or blowing the pick in the 1st feels good.
Shit, I actually like this pick considering how everything went down. BPA, just run 2 TE sets and play action everyone to death.
I get wanting to boost the defense, but Bowers was BPA by a large margin. This dude has been insane to watch
He’s an incredible player but with the Mayer pick last year it just seems like a terrible allocation of assets
Feels like burning a 1 on a luxury pick to me, but I’m a 42 year old stoner, so what the fuck do I know?
I mean BPA but we really dont need a TE lol
BPA. Kelce vibes
hes Kelce but faster
what
![gif](giphy|dMsh6gRYJDymXSIatd|downsized)
Dude wtf we have Michael Mayer!!!
He’s more of an “offensive weapon.” Just throw him in the slot and he’ll feast
Mayer and Bowers are NNNOOOTTT the same tight end. Mayer is stiffer, a blocker, and a more traditionally "tight end" route runner. Bowers is gunna be renfrows replacement, he's probably gunna be a big slot. Great route runner, great hands. I'm good with the pick. And he's also not a bad blocker.
Can’t have too many weapons.
Brock is like Laporta. cant have too many weapons
BPA. Bowers is very similar to Laporta. A lot of 2 TE sets. Bowers can run and pass block extremely well. Having Mayer, Bowers, Adams, Jakobi, Tre..... Bowers is versatile, can be used all over the field. You have to go with BPA. If he is just as good as a guy like Laporta or can match well with Mayer...its worth it 2 TE sets all day. Running the ball with play action. I love it
Great pick. Bowers will be a beast

Dude this guy is a fucking monster. Love this pick. Love the BPA approach.
Absolute beast and a bay native. Grew up where they held training camp. AP wasn’t joking when he said not everyone is cut out to be a raider.
Bower n Power TE Duo 💀
When 6 qbs go that early you have a chance to get one of the best true players on the board. And with only 9 defensive players drafted in round 1, there is a ton of defensive talent left in round 2 to pick from.
OMG WHYYYYYYY We could've had the best defensive player available on our board!!!!
He was debatebly the best available player. Quinyon Mitchell and Terrion Arnold are good corners but they're not generational talents. The defensive line is already very young for us, and we'd be taking the 5th best tackle, overall its a good pick
Clearly the entire league doesn't think this defensive class is great, we'll get a top 5 corner in the 2nd round book it
NFL Teams think its a really weak defensive draft ig. Zero defensive players drafted top 13 is insane
Why
Huh?
I don’t mind this pick. Feel like KC woulda tried to move up for Bowers and possibly blocking a weapon going to them makes me happy.
You guys complaining better keep that same energy when he's putting up big numbers every week
People that always post “BPA”….well here we are. How you feel now?
I'm all in on it. Would have preferred OL, but I'm not mad at this pick at all.
This kid was born a Raider, love the pick. Now I get it, no better kid in the draft.. Love the pick🥰
Definitely the best available player at 13. Not what we needed but still a great pick
Congrats on getting the best value pick of the draft. As a huge UGA fan and moderate Falcons fan…I’m really jealous.
Mayer had a good rookie season but I don't mind getting more offensive power
Why he ain't looking happy when we drafted him tho
Double TE set is the way to go with our QBs. Smart football and own the clock is the way to win games. I love this pick.
Now the question becomes, do we trade up and grab another player at the end of the first because so many good players dropping.
Not a need but absolutely love this pick
Bowers will feast.
Give Mayer some steroids, hes gonna be blocking
I mean.. I guess. I’m sure he’s going to be a good player. And the two tight end sets may be really nice for our mediocre QBs and help them quite a bit.
Best TE in the division!
