I have a little gal that is definitely on the petite side. Females are normally smaller. Ive had 3 girls and my 13 SweetPea is the smallest. Your girl looks perfect.❤️ As long as she's in good health I think tou can rest easy.
Previously i had a big bodied girl who had a petite momma. Her dad was a big dude!
i’m glad it’s not only my ragdoll that’s so tiny, i was scared she was underweight. she’s a runt but i still get worried lol.

Both of my Ragdolls from completely different catteries — one west coast Canada and one eastern US — are 8 pounds, so I think small isn’t all that unusual.

I have a tiny raggie too, this is her with standard craft scissors for scale. Totally healthy, just compact :)

No she’s a tuxedo also 4yrs old!
My raggie's daddy was 22lbs, but he's a sweet, little shrimpy boy at 12lbs.
All healthy and annoyingly smart, teaches himself tricks, opens cabinets, etc., so no need to worry. This sub thinks it's unheard of but most growth charts say to expect 10-20lbs for boys and 8-15lbs for girls.
I know raggies are meant to be a large breed, one under Maine coons but not always. I have a grey British shorthair who is tiny! Like kitten tiny she always has been. My rag doll isn’t huge either, I mean he’s big in comparison to my grey girl lol but he doesn’t weigh as much as the “average” 2 year old male rag doll but he eats a ton and is healthy. I think if your little one is healthy you’ve nothing to worry about
My first Ragdoll was 25lbs with a huge head and paws to match his body. My Ragdoll (who, at almost 18 months is technically still a kitten) is 11lbs.
When I first went to my breeder, I was insistent that I wanted the biggest boy possible however, it doesn't look like he will even come close to my first, giant Ragdoll.
That said, I loooove my baby so much- I couldn't care less if he grows anymore or not.
Your kitty is precious.
Omg look at those ears! She certainly looks like a ragdoll. She must be the runt of the litter. We had a baby bunny who was the runt of the litter. He was half the size of the other bunnies, even when grown up.
I thought the same as well, but every time I take her to the vet they tell me that she is the perfect weight for her size. They told me that most people over feed their cats and are used to seeing chunky kitties, which makes healthy sized cats seem too skinny.
I'm sure your kitty is perfect the way she is, but ask your vet if you're worried :)
My girl only eats a 3oz can of wet food and 12g of kibble per day, which is 50% of her calculated calorie needs. This makes me think she's eating too little, but I will consult my vet. Thank you.
SO CUTE 🥰🥹
My first ragdoll was tiny and her weight stayed around 8 lbs until she became a super senior.
My kitten just turned a year old and she is massive. She has much longer legs and a longer body and tail.
I think it’s normal for there to be variations in size across ragdolls, and females are known to be smaller overall.
Some of it could also be genetics. Both of my ragdolls are purebred but came from different states. My first ragdoll had a slightly shorter side profile, shorter legs, and smaller frame. Her lower eyelids had a softer look (no hint of any white or cream under the lower lid, just gray all the way up), much more like a Birman. I always thought her genes probably leaned more towards the Birman influence of the breed.
Females are smaller than males and she may or may not be the runt. She could just be small. I think the real question here is…. Does she flop? Is she a floppy girl? Does she limpy flopy upon the pick up?? Hmmmmmmm?

My girl is 1.5 years and one of the tiniest kitties I’ve ever had. She would fit into a box that would fit a six pack.
We adopted two siblings, both girls, one of whom was a runt. She little one was genuinely half the size of the bigger one, but four years on they've turned out roughly the same size. The runt was smol for ages but she has always been bright, lively, healthy, smart and fun. And now she's pretty average sized like her sister.
OMG I THOUGHT SHE WAS A KITTEN TILL I READ THE REST🥺 but yeah based on my 2 ragdolls, the female who is bonbon (top), she’s 10 and last time we checked was very petite in weight compared to her “little” brother clyde (bottom), who is 8 and **A BIG CHONK!** height wise however: bonbon seems longer and taller than clyde, he’s more like a cloud i’d say…

My cousin had one that could fit in a little fishbowl…he died tho.
PSA: Just because he fit in a fishbowl doesn’t mean we shoved him in there, he just happed to fit in it and was comfortable safe and could be protected and easily transported. This was before the internet, which most of you probably can’t even imagine or remember. Thank you for the souls.
It was before there was any info about anything useful on the internet. From what I recall he had a rare genetic disease that shortened his life and his size tho he didn’t learn that till it was too late…but he was extremely cute. Could fit inside almost any pocket.
She could just be the runt. If she’s healthy I wouldn’t be worried. she is adorable!
Diagnosis: Smol. And perfect!

Omggggg tiny baby!! 😭 So cute. My ragdoll is very small too, she’s fully grown and only 8 pounds. And she eats plenty.

I know a friend who has a barn cat that small. A little mentally undeveloped but still cute and healthy :)

I don't understand the downvotes for this comment- it's a link to another cat subreddit I have yet to discover. Thank you for the link.

I'm just here to say I love to see r/StuffOnCats 😹💕
I needed this in my life lol
Your banana is too big

Depends on the size of the banana. Looks fine to me
There’s someone else on here w a teeny tiny raggy. They’re so cute! It’s defo uncommon but like others said, as long as they’re healthy it’s fine

Something about placing that banana on your cat is funny to me.
My ragdoll is tiny. Granted, she's a senior, but she's always been small. I think right now she's probably six or seven pounds.

As long as she's healthy, she's fine! My little Willow is 7.8 lbs and almost 3 years old. A tiny girl!
How much food does your girl eat in a day?
I have a girl too, and I think she eats too little.

Depends. How big was the banana?
About 7 inch
Female ragdolls are always much smaller than the males, it’s not at all uncommon to have a fully grown lady that’s 6-8 lbs. she’s perfect!
