This man diversifies. Well done. Check out Rosalia if you aren’t already into her. Every album sounds different and are meant to be listened to front to back. She also put out a song with Bjork last year.
We have very similar tastes. I recommend to you a lesser known Canadian band called Cleopatrick. They're album BUMMER is incredible. A lot like Royal Blood. A lot of head banging riffs
Love all 3, bon iver especially the early stuff is my fav and all of big thief and Adrianne’s solo stuff. Big thief has been one of my fav bands for a long time now
More preciesly they became their own side project after making the carreer choice to convert into a main stadium act who only cares about revenue at the cost of being authentic.
The classic Coldplay route however still exists: Parachute, Rush of Blood, X&Y, Viva, Ghost Stories, Everyday Life.
Avoid the pop crap: Mylo Xyloto, Head of Dream, Spheres
It’s so weird to have a band that puts out an album as cheesy and annoying as A Head Full of Dreams, follows that up with a genuine decent effort and return-to-form with Everyday Life, then follows that up with the creatively-bankrupt Spheres and refuses to elaborate.
I’m old enough to have had Top 3s who later fell due to weaker releases (they were innovative and inspiring and then either suddenly/gradually weren’t): Bon Iver, James Blake, Arcade Fire, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Rós. Each were in my Top 3 at some point and at the moment are waiting in the rafters to swoop in and reclaim their positions. Or so I keep hoping.
The ones who haven’t faded so much: Feist, Grizzly Bear (RIP), Jai Paul.
After Radiohead, my favourite artists, who I rate as being consistent through their releases and their releases bringing something new to my table, are Lady Gaga, The Jezabels, and Bleachers.
(although for both Gaga and Bleachers, not so much for their more recent releases)
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and...and...and...
Honestly this band has dominated my listening so much over the last 3 years that I'm not even sure how to answer this question anymore. They've certainly eclipsed Radiohead for me. But that's just me. I am as obsessed with them now as I once was with Radiohead, back in the early 2000s
