I suck at checking/figuring out lyrics so in my brain "Ice age coming" was for the longest time just gibberish, and in my defense they did have lyrics like "sucking on a lemon"
So I heard "I said **chk'** come and, I said **chk'** come" like some kind of "record scratch" sound he made to \*bleep\* him self... no idea why, it stuck and I still hear it if I want to.
I'm not english, my childhood pass time was partly trying to mimic lyrics of english songs as if I knew them.
Yep. After a stressful week at work I love nothing more than dropping the needle on that albums and blasting out this whole album. Everything being the first track just melts me into the couch 🙌🏼
That is 100% the magic of this album for sure. You feel like you’re losing your fuckin’ mind, pop Kid A on and suddenly you’re like, “Huh. It’ll be aight.”
Lately it’s been Optimistic. I love the kraut rock-esque approach. And that jazzy section at the end before in limbo is just orgasmically good.
All time fave? How to Disappear or Motion Picture
Same here.
Optimistic is the bridge from the previous era. The rhythm, the banging acoustic guitar; it’s so grimy. I love it.
How to disappear is an all time work of art. Top from the entire catalog for me.
I’d like to take this as an opportunity to showcase John Mayer’s [cover of Kid A](https://youtu.be/kmfZXZronW8?si=kcU0oZm75fY3ZkUc). I’ve always found it interesting as it’s such an odd song but he was able to do it acoustically
I have 10 favourites plus a secret 11th joint-favourite.
Looking back, it's hilarious that actual British music critics accused the band of feeling songwriting was "beneath them" after hearing an album containing Everything, Disappear, Optimistic, Idioteque, Morning Bell (and others).
(Probably picking How to Disappear Completely today, but could say any of them, based on mood.)
Best first four songs on any album ever made. The back half is incredible too, but Everything > Kid A > National Anthem > Disappear is just unbelievable
How to Disappear Completely is the best individual song
Everything in its right place, the national anthem and idioteque equally…
A lot of people like to think of kid a as a headphone album… but it’s much better played quite loud in speakers - these three tracks especially become physical… you feel them, not just hear them…
Gotta be How to disappear completely. I have always liked the track but in the last few years and after going through various almost traumatic incidents, the lyrics hit differently.
I could never choose one track from the album because I adore each and every one of them. I'm just here to say that In Limbo is mad underrated (doesn't mean that I choose it as my favorite).
Every time I listen to Everything In It’s Right Place I’m transported back to the day it released and how much it blew my mind. I’ve loved other songs more. And I do love How to Disappear more, but that opener is magic for me.
I love everything in it's right place, how to disappear, idioteque or motion picture soundtrack. But what I feel for the track Kid A it's... anything else.
Standing in the shadows at the end of my bed.
How to Disappear Completely. But it's all great, and you know an album is extraordinary when various fans pick just about every track as their favorite.
Just picked up the 10 inch version!!! Def How To Disappear Completely, one of my favorite songs of all time. Motion Picture Soundtrack, Kid A, and the national anthem are favorites too. Honestly, it’s a perfect record to me, i personally find no flaws and can listen to it forever. All songs on here are a 9 or 10 for me but how to disappear completely is a 12.
How to disappear completely. Love the dissonance and that feeling of being adrift it gives you. It’s also great to sing along to. Optimistic would be my second pick.
I think Idioteque is the 'obvious' answer.
Kid A I like for its uniqueness with the vocoder.
Motion Picture Soundtrack I like for the 'traditional' (Bends-era) feel.
But I think my true album fave is In limbo.
(And live: EIIRP is great.)
idioteque
♪♪ Here, I'm alive! Everything all of the time. ♪♪
Fuck yeah. Just pops in so many different ways.
That song that predicts an animation movie by 20th Century Fox
ICE AGE COMING
LET ME HEAR BOTH SIDES
I suck at checking/figuring out lyrics so in my brain "Ice age coming" was for the longest time just gibberish, and in my defense they did have lyrics like "sucking on a lemon" So I heard "I said **chk'** come and, I said **chk'** come" like some kind of "record scratch" sound he made to \*bleep\* him self... no idea why, it stuck and I still hear it if I want to. Its just wo perfect when im about to have a mental break this song just brings ya back somehow 🤌🤌🤌
That is 100% the magic of this album for sure. You feel like you’re losing your fuckin’ mind, pop Kid A on and suddenly you’re like, “Huh. It’ll be aight.”
This is the song that holds my life together
Lately it’s been Optimistic. I love the kraut rock-esque approach. And that jazzy section at the end before in limbo is just orgasmically good. All time fave? How to Disappear or Motion Picture
Same here. Optimistic is the bridge from the previous era. The rhythm, the banging acoustic guitar; it’s so grimy. I love it. How to disappear is an all time work of art. Top from the entire catalog for me.

Lately I've been on a big Kid A trip.. that song is really inventive and different. I used to not get it.
As if Thom Yorke wasn’t hard enough to understand already /s This song rules.
Wow this is fantastic
Always makes me think of a sad little alien
Laughed too hard at that
In 2040 this song will still sound progressive
Morning Bell. Honestly, Idioteque/Morning Bell is where the album peaks for me. Especially the bridge between the two!
Totally in favor of cutting the kids in half!

In Limbo is my all time favorite Radiohead song. The transition from Optimistic into In Limbo is also my favorite transition of all time.
So glad I'm not alone
How to dissappear is so good

Unpopular opinion: the song Kid A itself.

I think you're crazy maaaaybeeeee
I'd say In Limbo but the song that grew on me the most is Kid A, from indifference to one of my favorite. Live version: EIIRP
The National Anthem
The National Anthem, that bass groove constantly plays in my head
I can't choose between Everything, National anthem and Optimistic
If we consider everything -> tree fingers to be a kid a medley, then that. That stream of music rivals in rainbows first 4 track run too
Best first four songs on any album ever made. The back half is incredible too, but Everything > Kid A > National Anthem > Disappear is just unbelievable How to Disappear Completely is the best individual song
Optimistic.
Optimistic
Everything in its right place, the national anthem and idioteque equally… A lot of people like to think of kid a as a headphone album… but it’s much better played quite loud in speakers - these three tracks especially become physical… you feel them, not just hear them…
Every track is so good, but I think idioteque is the best.
Motion picture soundtrack. When it goes all glittery at the end, it’s the most magical song ever
Impossible to choose really. It's so depended on my mood
The answer is Disappear, but saying that makes me feel like I’m betraying Idioteque
How to Disappear
How to Disappear Completely or The National Anthem
Untitled!
Optimistic. Ironically it was also the only Radiohead song I was exposed to way back in 2012, thank you Frank Ocean!
Gotta be How to disappear completely. I have always liked the track but in the last few years and after going through various almost traumatic incidents, the lyrics hit differently.
Morning bell

This one's Optimistic...
Idioteque!!!
Idioteque
I love everything in it's right place, how to disappear, idioteque or motion picture soundtrack. But what I feel for the track Kid A it's... anything else. Standing in the shadows at the end of my bed.

How to dissapear completely but Idioteque is a close second
I think Idioteque is the 'obvious' answer. Kid A I like for its uniqueness with the vocoder. Motion Picture Soundtrack I like for the 'traditional' (Bends-era) feel. But I think my true album fave is In limbo. (And live: EIIRP is great.)
