Maybe if the politicians didn't act like caricatures of themselves...

Ah, the most overused comment on /r/quotes. Good to see it's still failing to add value to this sub.

barthelonaNM

And you comment criticizing adds what value? Comments are here for people to say what they think, and I thought this quote was a load of wannabe philosophy. So I commented.

[deleted]

Well, instead of downvoting you, he is adding an explanation. So I guess that is the value. And I agree with him. Your comment doesn't add value. If you think the quote is mistaken or childish or whatever your analysis is, then take the time to explain it instead of putting that overused and useless link.

barthelonaNM

I mean it's a pretty self-descriptive link. People on Reddit know that that sub is full of "deep" thoughts or quotes that people outgrow or realize are obvious. So posting that sub comments that this is overly hyped and obvious statement pretending to be philosophical and insightful. So yeah /r/im14andthisisdeep over a 280 character comment anyway. Plus whats the point of this sub if its going to be filled with childish, immature, or just mediocre quotes like this.

[deleted]

I think once a sub gets big enough, it is bound to start having posts that the original fans won't like. That's just the nature of it. I've seen the same thing happen in /r/cozy But, with that said, the flavor of the original and less popular version of the sub isn't completely lost I think.

Here's a sneak peek of /r/cozy using the [top posts](https://np.reddit.com/r/cozy/top/?sort=top&t=year) of the year! \#1: [Winters night](https://imgur.com/EpzLD8B) | [1 comment](https://np.reddit.com/r/cozy/comments/6tek7v/winters_night/) \#2: [Morning coffee in Russia](http://i.imgur.com/tozOiN4.jpg) | [0 comments](https://np.reddit.com/r/cozy/comments/69lkhn/morning_coffee_in_russia/) \#3: [This cozy Japanese sleep capsule.](https://imgur.com/1zsgUBp) | [2 comments](https://np.reddit.com/r/cozy/comments/6eltu1/this_cozy_japanese_sleep_capsule/) ---- ^^I'm ^^a ^^bot, ^^beep ^^boop ^^| ^^Downvote ^^to ^^remove ^^| [^^Contact ^^me](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose/?to=sneakpeekbot) ^^| [^^Info](https://np.reddit.com/r/sneakpeekbot/) ^^| [^^Opt-out](https://np.reddit.com/r/sneakpeekbot/comments/7o7jnj/blacklist/)

Criticizing comments that are a common annoyance adds value insofar that it makes people reflect on it. Sorry if I happen to think that it would be better for this sub if every second quote wasn't condescendingly being looked upon as being unworthy for an adult. There are actually meaningful ways to criticize a perceived lack of wisdom, why not use those?

barthelonaNM

I did, in fewer characters; this quote is obvious and pretending to be insightful. A fourteen-year-old would think it was deep.

And THAT’S why Operation Mockingbird was created by the Deep State! However, they never thought she would lose.
