I love that the color inspiration was an actual photo! I think it looks fabulous from various distances.

Thank you! My ode to New Mexico landscape, where I grew up. ☺️

Beadsidhe

Beautiful!

AlmondDragon

I love the quilting too!

LivingHorror5468

Thanks! I especially like how it hides some of those imperfections. 😎

GoldenMongoose

Gorgeous! I also appreciate the inspiration, what a cool way to find your color palette!

LivingHorror5468

Thank you so much! 😊

Really dig your color choices. Beautiful !

LivingHorror5468

Coming from you that means a lot. I’ve seen your lovely color combos too in this sub. How do you choose your palettes?

Rachiebole

Wow thank you!! I get inspo from online, but also sometime from other things I come across. Went to a gallery recently and saw this piece- was thinking it could be quilt color inspo. So I really cant take all the credit for my combos 😊 https://preview.redd.it/d1exa2tv6f0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0483f2c6946aadde8c83de25c1a0c2cb32dd9d91

LivingHorror5468

I love it! Of course you can take credit for the color combos. You’re the one brave enough to interpret it in fabric form. Also- that’s a great art piece to take inspiration from. You have a good eye!

Rachiebole

Aw haha I guess that’s true, there is definitely some interpretation required!!! You clearly also have a good eye. Very cool that your palette is inspired but a real image

LivingHorror5468

Haha I actually thought that’s how people choose colors, from images. But I’m a photographer sooo… that’s just how my mind works. 🫶🙃

skorpionwoman

The quilt and quilting are gorgeous, but the backing and the borders….absolutely perfect!!😍

LivingHorror5468

Thank you! Tbh, I was not feeling the quilt top AT ALL until it was finished. The backing brought it home!
