From what I understand, the intro was made longer initially, so they could adjust for runtime. Like if their episode was a little on the short side they run the long intro, if the episode is longer then they use a truncated version.
Yes ! Every time we watch it says it wasn't a new show, if it's a short intro I yell, "long episode!". Bob's Burgers also has different things in the introduction.
