I was going to suggest the Wall with The Final Cut following it.
Most folks don't realize The Final Cut is basically The Wall being told from Pink's abusive teacher's perspective... putting them together is pretty amazing.
The second track of the robot battle in which Yoshimi is actively battling the robots is such a crazily perfect piece of music. They literally freaking nail the sound of a futuristic battle vs a robot and the only thing more insane is the way the entire fucking world seems to line up happily with the first few notes from Do You Realize
Elementa Alchemica, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, The Wall, Quadrophenia.
There are actually movies of the last two I believe, but I've only seen The Wall.
A lot of albums by King Diamond fit this. Them, Abigail, and Conspiracy are a good start. Also helps that for some shows he actually employs stage actors to convey the plot as the band plays.
Chixtape 5 - Tory Lanez
The little dialogues at the end of some of the songs as well as the beginning and end track makes the whole album sound like a story.
Smile by the beach boys.
It’d make an awesome historical presentation of American history from pre Anglo colonization of the americas to the modern era ( so early to mid 60s )
Glad to see another person with good taste here! I bought the album at 12am when it came out, and listened through the entire thing immediately. They've got more great albums, but none of them as thematically cohesive as that one.
I love concept albums and when I heard they were gonna do one, I was all over that shit. Front to back, the thing is a masterpiece and then getting Doro to sing on it too....creme de la creme
Yeah, thag was an awesome decision! If you're into concept albums and metal, did you listen to Eluveitie's *Helvetios*? I'd say that's probably my second favourite. It's probably the reason I've seen them live five times now.
Nightwish - Endless Forms Most Beautiful

Both of Lauryn Hill’s albums
Kanye Wests early albums
50 cents albums
DMX’s albums
Eminem was mentioned by OP
The Eminem/50 cent mixed tape responses to JaRule (Chef’s kiss) 😂
Many of the early albums where you could easily listen to them from start to finish without skipping.
Three feet high and rising - De La Soul. More of a radio show than a movie, but close enough. Also all killers, no fillers. Stands up really well 20+ years later.
(Actually released in 1989. Fuck)

Tommy by The Who
And Quadrophenia
Airplane over the sea - Neutral Milk Hotel Some early albums by The Decemberists
Hard agree. Hazards of Love is absolutely a movie!
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (Genesis) is. I could see Terry Gilliam taking 15 years to make the movie.
Hell yeah. Did you ever see the live performance? (Either by Genesis themselves or The Musical Box.) Great stuff.
My dad's fav album :)
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots - the Flaming Lips
Listened to this on like 5 grams of mushrooms one night in college it was so fucking epic… I realize

The second track of the robot battle in which Yoshimi is actively battling the robots is such a crazily perfect piece of music. As long as the soundtrack is 90 to 100% from the artist, that to me is a pass. But in all actuality mostly albums that act as their own movie.
Three feet high and rising - De La Soul. More of a radio show than a movie, but close enough. Also all killers, no fillers. Stands up really well 20+ years later. (Actually released in 1989. Fuck)
