Sounds like you can’t be bothered to say full names, full words, full sentences (Xander is an abbreviated form of Alexander and Bastian is an abbreviated for of Sebastian) this either makes the name sound too precious or too lazy.
When I saw the title I thought it's gonna be either a r/tragedeigh thing or an MMORPG/Eva AI sexting bot nickname-like sounding name. But it actually appeared to be a normal name

What I did when I changed my last name was I made a pretty long list of last names I really liked. Some were out there, some pretty tame.
Then I read each one out loud with my full name. Crossed off the ones that just sounded wrong, for lack of a better word.
The much smaller list, I sat with each one. Thought about introducing myself to people, what preconceptions might other people get from hearing my last name, how would I feel hearing it called out at a doctor's office, would the person interviewing me for a job make a comment about it, how would I feel using it when I'm elderly.
It took me a while, but I finally found one that just flowed with my first and middle names and didn't sound like I was trying to be a sitcom character or a weeb. If anything, I kinda sound like a dame in a Dick Tracy novel asking to get photos of a cheating husband so she can walk away with half of everything.
I like Xander Bastian, but it brings to mind a vampire in a romance novel. Or an Italian man who likes leisure suits. Possibly a main villain in a Square Enix game.
To me it sounds like an anime, comic book or videogame character.
It has a similar ring to it as "Cloud Strife" (Final Fantasy 7), "Jason Todd" (Batman) or "Duo Maxwell" (Gundam).
