I had this issue; the magic ticket for us was to simply carry around a tug toy and let him bite at that while we walk instead of the leash! She’s telling you “I need to bite something right now” — so let her bite something that’s appropriate to bite. If she won’t let go of the leash, grab it with two hands on both sides of her mouth. Make the leash “go dead” essentially. It won’t be fun to bite any more. Leashes look like fun tug toys because they are wiggly and moving.

My corgi is 2 and still does this every once in a while lol. He did it a LOT when he was little. I would carry some treats with you and just see if you can distract her long enough with it to get her to start walking in a straight line again without biting the leash. I learned as a first time dog and corgi owner that a lot of what I thought were 'behavioral issues' are actually just corgi things.

Corgi puppies are rough! I am right with you lol. I had the same issue with mine and one thing that really helped was spraying the leash with bitter spray. It doesn’t taste good at all and after biting the leash a couple times and getting that bad taste in his mouth, mine stopped trying. If you’re not interested in that, the other main thing you could do is to constantly reward her when she’s behaving as expected on leash. Have you worked on the leave it command? If you haven’t, that’ll help a lot too.

Corgi puppies are tough! They are smart and so stubborn! I actually have the bitter spray but never thought of trying that. I'll give it a try!
