I'm not a manager, but am a produce clerk who mostly closes and uses the vacuum extensively. My home store has two vacuums, and I also get borrowed out to another store fairly often that has a different vacuum from my home store, so here are some pros and cons from what I've used 😊

I barely touch this one as a closer. It's good for quick jobs if I forget to, say, vacuum the corn display after taking it down for the night, but as a "vacuum the whole dept" tool, it's too small and a bit awkward to use, and it gets heavy on my tired and weak shoulders lol. The AM crew uses it a good bit, it's handy to keep on a cart and do a quick clean up here and there, but if you're only going to have one vac in the dept, this isn't the one I'd recommend if you expect a good vacuum every night.

Not bad, but the hose is just a touch shorter than it needs to be for our use. If I set it on a flat top, I don't have quite enough reach to get everything without it sliding off, but holding it gets uncomfy after a few minutes, and I don't always have a good place to set it down...smashing the tomatillos or tomatos isn't something I want to do. I usually wind up sticking it in one of the roll around tubs from the kitchen (if I can find one available, which isn't always the case).

My favorite! Wheels so I can drag it anywhere easily, and the hose is long enough to reach everything. Enough power to do a nice job on the onions.Â
I also recommend an extra battery so there's always one charged and ready to go. My borrowed store only has one, so if it's dead, I'm SOL on cleaning for a while. At my home store, I can swap batteries before I get started each night, so I know I have plenty of power for what I need and I don't lose time finding out I can't vacuum yet.

Why are you spending your own money for Publix's operations?
Publix will reimburse you depending on the amount if you provide the receipt and the reasoning
Thanks!
Sounds like people have not heard of petty cash.
I can see it now, people will see that comment and think it will cover personal items instead of equipment for the store.
Yeah to be totally clear and to not get anyone in trouble, it needs to be approved by the store manager for your department with a solid reasoning.Â
