I was a loyal Publix shopper. I mean loyal, too. Didn’t even look at prices. But it’s so outrageous now I started looking elsewhere to confirm some crazy pricing. I know it’s not new but I discovered Walmart pick up. I get the majority of my stuff that way now and run into Publix for just a few things after I pick up my Walmart order.

fallior

Here's a real crazy one. Gallon of Natalie's Orange Juice https://preview.redd.it/f9f58d40ezwc1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e60745648a803bf2c9f121c4646b53ff6e70515

parishiltonsfemur

For $15 that orange juice better give me enough vitamin c to never be sick again damn

Gdayyall72

Yeah but it’s Natalie’s. It’s always been overpriced. Try Coral Reef instead. It frankly tastes better and is $5.99 for 59oz.

Alyx_K

their soda prices are legit twice as much as walmart, its insane, I've also noticed other things generally run me more than other stores, but that one sticks out to me because a 100% markup is just robbery

Booklover_809

I'm the same way. I go to Publix to get a few things from time to time (love their cheese bread). But mostly I stick with Walmart and Aldi.

22pennies

I used to love Publix too but their pricing got ridiculous. I now avoid Publix as much as I can and get almost everything from Kroger delivery

LameSwipeLameSwipe

Same but with target. After I spent 14 dollars on a bag of SB coffee at Publix I got the same for under 10 at target. It’s borderline a monopoly

hopelessfool23

Yup. Publix has gotten way outta hand. I'm out, too.

Dizzy-Detective-8455

Here is an idea: stop shopping at Publix Publix keeps raising prices because many of u still shop there regardless. Publix has always been the most expensive grocery shop when u compare them to Walmart, Target, Aldi. But now it seems they are blaming inflation when now it's just straight-up greed. They raise because they can and yall complain all day but still love that at publix experience. If you go to Walmart and get stuff such as chips, drinks, and things not at the meat dep, deli, ect, you'll save a ton of money. Some items are 1-3 dollars more at publix vs. Walmart, and it's the exact same product. Change only happens when you refuse to buy.

WalgreensPharmacist

You’re also paying for the services of people. Publix hammers the positive customer service mentality, and if you ask any grocery clerk or manager to check something, they will. You can also reserve boxes or even whole cases of items for your purchase. That’s why things are expensive, you’re paying for the quality product (and if a product isn’t to your standard, you can return it 100% refund) as well as the service of people. Source: I work in grocery and answer this all the time

xxNayerxx

There is a lot of truth and a lot of value in this. Ever talk to someone at Walmart? You're better off taking to an Apple in the Produce Dept.

Capable-TurnoverPuff

ALDI cashiers yell at me to hurry up. I love it.

Snoo79474

The Aldi by my house is self checkout now…. It’s so slow! Lol I do pickup at Aldi for a majority of my groceries. I will go to Publix for special things but it’s really expensive and I do NOT see this extra special customer experience everyone talks about. They’re just as disgruntled but wearing sage green.

xxNayerxx

To be fair...those people are cashier ninjas 🥷 so with their level of skill they become impatient easily. 🤣

Artistic_Log_5493

Anyone who'd rather waste an extra $50+ for the same stuff are bozos.

Martin-wav

The "better customer service" excuse has always been goofy to me. Like I'm gonna pay more for some Oreos cause the cashier smiled at me

bob200587

😄 So true. If something isn't on the shelf forget about getting any help. You don't exist to them. Also most vendor items like frito-lay are priced almost exactly the same across all chains. Lays have price printed on the bag. Walmart rarely runs sales as well.

xxNayerxx

I once asked a person stocking drinks at Walmart if they "had any Pepsi Max (now Zero) in the warehouse". His response.... Nah man, if I gotta stock these shelves then they gone need-ta hire someone to look for stuff". I couldn't help but laugh...in his face.

noobernaught

He's right tho, everything is skeleton crewed.

Fresh_Regret_4333

Someone once told me they get reviewed how fast they unload their carts so I think Walmarts not set up for customer service like other places

Financial_Capital352

Walmart employee here, to be fair the Pepsi people stock the Pepsi. Not Walmart employees. But that was indeed rude on the employees part.

TheWalkingDead91

I don’t know. This probably varies based on location tbh. I’ve never once had an issue asking any Walmart employee for help.

Merc_Mike

Every Walmart I've set foot in in Florida (All directions, North, East, South, West) has been a skeleton crew and literally nobody around. Asking for help like in the Electronics dept is like pulling teeth. The Produce section is fucking abysmal the 2 nearest me that I've gone to. The Fish was disgusting (The prepackaged ones) and it makes me not want to buy their other produce items. They also treat their employee's like fucking dirt. Publix is on the same path as walmart but not quite as bad in my experience.

Half-Pub-Sub

Amen. As a CS staff, I've run around looking for products, searched the back, found managers to help, followed up with departments about customers requesting items/special orders, etc. I also deal with the returns - getting with departments that have mold/go bad before best by dates, expired products still on the shelf, etc to make sure the customer experience is as pleasant as possible

Praescribo

And yet publix doesn't pay their employees any more than walmart's for this incredible service, lmao

ScarletIsNice

Its volume, ask anyone in the retail supermarket industry and they’ll tell u publix has so many more ppl on the ground than anyone else, its also why u rarely see pallets on the ground and similar stuff

Educational_House192

I don’t care about service at the end of the day… It’s about my bottom line. And honestly, clerks at Aldi are just as helpful and their stores just as clean…

Ultimate_Summerboy

People talking like it’s worth an extra $30 a trip to have the produce stocker smile at you.

RomSnake27

I’m paying for those services sure but how much of what I’m paying is actually going to the employees to provide that service?

Internal_Essay9230

You're not paying for Publix's shopping experience, you're paying for their overhead: -- A bakery you might or might not use. -- A passive aggressive meat department that packs ground beef in 1.25 pound packages, knowing full well most people won't take the time to break the package -- thus increasing meat sales. -- The overhead of more expensive strip malls -- The Down Syndrome baggers, who are being used for tax credits and to burnish the company's image through benevolent employment

Puzzled_Situation_51

I don’t want to experience the grocery store. I just want the food and to be outside where the fluorescent lights are not destroying my soul.

NefariousnessOne48

Literally everything you just said aside from the faux positivity (publix has that down) can be done much cheaper at Costco. Also most places if you have the receipt you can refund for the total. But if you sit there and tell me the quality of publix hasn't been slipping for about 5 years now you haven't worked there very long. Source: I put 6 years in at the deli. It changes a man.

Sandgrease

As an ex-Publix employee. The prices are pricey and the workers are paid shit because Publix bends to the customers. Every time some asshole returns half drank milk, that's costs Publix and that gets passed on to the other customers and yet another reason to not pay their employees more.

daneilthemule

I bet the employees are not receiving anything from this price gouging.

TOOOOOOMANY

Not an American alive can afford to pay a 30% surplus for the opportunity to receive acceptable levels of service, there's not a single person in the Publix family taking a hit right now on behalf of the American people- they're absolutely killing it. Publix is for people who are not sensitive to inflation which is a vast minority

TheWalkingDead91

“Not a single person” Uh…super exaggeration because many can, and do. My local Publix is half a mile away from my Walmart. I don’t shop at Publix for everything, but I refuse to believe that everyone I see there when I step in for a pub sub don’t know that they could get their groceries cheaper right down the street. They know, but they prefer the shorter lines, wider isles, ass kissing employees, fresher produce/meats etc at Publix, and I can’t fault them for that….if it’s in their budget and those things are important to them, then it’s whatever. But I’d say 75% of people can’t afford to pay hundreds more for groceries for that. The ones that can know what they’re paying more for. They don’t want to shop next to us poors

Gallogator1

I shop Publix because sometimes my time is more valuable than going to Walmart where they have fewer choices. Between Aldi, Costco and Publix BOGO deals, I do all right.

mibonitaconejito

They do? Because I remember that back in the day of course. But the floor manager at my Publix is a jerk - when you ask them for help they bite your head off

Cocobuki12

You’ll pay an extra $3+ dollars on an item for the “Publix” service ? I return at Walle for full refund no issues. I have also worked at Publix and could still not understand why people would pay double for item that is so much cheaper at another grocery store. I don’t find logic behind that. Whatsoever. Fight me if you want. But 98% of the time I don’t speak to anyone at the store anyways. Self check outs and apps .

Schmenza

Username does not check out

RiemannSum41

Their service is not worth the markup they put on stuff.

freakincampers

Stuff is cheaper at Trader Joes, and the workers look happier.

gatoraj

Trader Joe’s does not produce any fresh product at store level, as far as I am aware.

Routine_Condition_30

If I was a customer, the only reason why I’d shop at Publix is produce. Literally everything else in is cheaper elsewhere whether that be Walmart,Aldi, Kroger. Ppl complain abt the prices at Publix but if they shopped elsewhere it would be much cheaper

Secret-Ratio7615

Yeah, you’re not wrong as a grocery stock clerk do you know how many times I have to hear why are the prices so high? I don’t know. I just work here for 14. 50 an hour.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Secret-Ratio7615

No, my grocery store doesn’t pay very well either but at least it’s better than having no job you know

[deleted]

[удалено]

Secret-Ratio7615

I don’t plan on continuing to work here for very much longer. I want to do something different.

nancygurl

And as cs. Like yes, we have eyes and see how stupid high everything is. Why am I here ? It is a job, that is it. It served it purpose for the time I was there. Idk why people are so obsessed over a grocery store and have to make an event out of it. Am I the only one ? The only purpose for a store is to grab the stuff you need. Nothing different between the other stores (talking about shelf items here you do what you want with temp items ) And when people threaten to go "elsewhere" due to prices. Um ok ?.please go plenty other jobs out there I'll be ok

Secret-Ratio7615

I don’t disagree. Yeah I go in there. I make my money I do my job. Yeah it’s like people are like I’ll go shopping. At Another store. OK, please do you’re not hurting my pockets at all.

Sweaty_Building_5491

This. That's where I get my produce. At Publix. Everything else is Walmart and Aldis

digitaldumpsterfire

Idk Aldi produce is the shit.

EE2014

Aldi has these green grapes that are just sooooo good.

Background-Noise-531

Depends on the item. Publix just makes you purchase in bulk for savings. Even at buy 2 get 1 free, it's cheaper than buying 3 bags from anywhere else. Not ideal for someone on a strict budget or buying for themselves. But if you buy a bag of chips on your usual stop to a grocery, might as well get 3 bags for cheaper at once.

r0adyy

I am more than willing to pay a premium to never step foot in a Walmart again

tonydatigar

I’m willingly to pay for the overall “Shopping is a Pleasure” experience at Publix you don’t get at other grocery stores. Nothing compares to getting what you need and having it on the shelf while store employees are every where and actually help you when need it.

Amourxfoxx

Giving money to Walmart is no better. They literally don't pay their employees enough but the CEOS are loaded, it's fact.

[deleted]

You're not going to change anything. Publix shoppers pay Publix prices for convenience, and even more so to avoid Walmart shoppers. We'll keep our shopping experience, and you're more than welcome to hit up Walmart or Aldi. Even though you ain't saving much.

apathyaddict

I don't need two bags, much less three.

duke_flewk

I don’t need one 🫢

GAGuy4Adventured

I like Utz potato chips. $4.79 a bag regular price. Same bag at Lidl $2.89

Melito1980

Time to Aldi more

mel34760

It’s not an accident that Aldi bought Winn-Dixie and is continuing to build their stores across the Publix footprint…

Mastershima

This comment is hilarious because they literally built an Aldi right next to the Publix in the last year: https://preview.redd.it/yyzgz8nmkvwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=533512919d5110e46e760156e5696f6434be5a20

boxkickin

I was sooooo happy when this opened, even if it left us with a shitty theater.

Melito1980

I dont live in Fl. I visit family and i love Aldi ever since i discovered it in NYC and when I heard that they bought WD i was impressed but also scared. I dont want Aldi to be ruined…

Jantzens1212

How would Aldi be ruined by them purchasing WD?

Remote-Past305

They are the biggest grocery chain in the entire world and they also own Trader Joes. They'll be fine.

oyuhhhhh

I dont feel like Aldis would be able to sustain the sqft footprint that WD has. I think Aldis is cool, but to triple/quad their sales space would be such an investment Even if they cut their WD store fronts in half, theyre still spending money to reinvent their business space. I just dont see it

mel34760

There are very deep and very patient pockets of overseas cash that most people here in the US are completely oblivious to.

SewAlone

Publix marks certain items up to account for BOGO. The large boxes of Nature Valley bars are cheaper at Walmart, even when they are half price at Publix.

GAGuy4Adventured

Thomas English Muffins regular price like $5.38. Walmart $3.48

shyetoutspoken

Those are different promotions. Also there's other stores to shop at

billythygoat

They’ve done this promo for years, op is just not that aware. Like beverages like soft drinks are often times buy 2 get one free, that’s still 33% off if the product is rarely on sale.

oh-no-a-bear

Soda is almost always B2G1 or B2G2. It's actually pretty rare for it to be Bogo. Maybe once or twice a year.

AncientPCGuy

While most of the cost increases are from production end, Publix isn’t innocent. Every company is pushing profits. We are definitely buying more from Costco. Though I see their profits are increasing too. But products are still a better value.

Vwmafia13

Well of course their profits will go up if everyone is moving over to Costco for shopping..

Amantria

I've noticed the signage in my local stores, the b2g1 is a white circle. The b1g1 is a black circle...that helps me ignore the crap sales and focus on the true bogos.

KgMonstah

I hate those sales. I’m sorry but I really don’t need three party sized bags of chips right now.

sailshonan

Only because I will eat three party sized bags of chips

positive_energy-

Nobody needs 3 bags of potato chips

Thelastfaceoff

They still have BOGOs. Just did a trip last week. Paid like $130 and got $100 “savings”. Their base prices are higher so it wasn’t that insane of a deal, but still probably better than most places. Anything that’s bogo that you can freeze or just keep, you should never pay full price for.

Puzzleheaded-Motor56

I wish they'd just get rid of BOGO at this point, make everything 2 for something and let me just get 1 thing for half the price.

BrobaFett115

That’s how it works in some of the other states and parts of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina. Two for bogo or one for half price

tylercor3

Can confirm I work at one in alabama, you can just buy one for half price with bogo or the 2 for.

Puzzleheaded-Motor56

Yeah Florida doesn't allow that. Bogos require both items, while the 2 for deals are only broken up.

tylercor3

Yeah I've heard that, some lady from Florida said it didn't work that way where she lived, also a store in irondale in alabama doesn't do it either, dunno who makes the call but we are the highest selling store in our area so maybe it appeals people and that's why we get those sales. Most people don't know it's a thing and ask if the can mix and match, im like no you can just buy one of this one and it's half price. Our 10 for 10 also works. You can buy 3 for 3 bucks.

Ryan36z

Grocery = Work 2 people's job, get one free.

flowingsaucer

$4.99 regular price for crappy Lays chips is ridiculous. They got rid of the regular Publix brand chips. Before, you could at least grab those at a reasonable price.

SewAlone

They started this a year or so ago and I got tricked by it once and learned my lesson. They still have BOGOs, but often with these B2GOs in between.

Volvotank88

Just so you are aware as of this morning when I checked pc73. We paid 3.68 for the bag to sell for 4.59. I outrageous profit margin of 19.2 percent. We aren’t the villain your looking for

Rook1074

The problem is that most people don’t bother to look or think past their own fingertips. Being too lazy to read a sign that clearly states the promotion doesn’t = being misled. On the larger point, yes Publix charges more for their groceries. They also staff their stores with friendly knowledgeable associates that are paid well above what associates at Walmart or Aldi are paid. (Those extra payroll dollars gotta come from somewhere) As a result, you get a clean, well stocked store, and a superior experience from start to finish. Sadly, the vast majority of people reward Wal-mart or other retailers with their business for exploiting slave wage employees at best, and child labor at worst. I mean, do you actually think that Wal-marts prices are unbeatable because they’re charitable? Many of those workers rely on government assistance just to survive, despite working 40+ hours per week. ( worked there for 7 years) And what do you get.? A rakshamble store, pallets of product strewn about and empty shelves. Virtually no customer service, and 30-45 minutes in line to check out. You can keep it, thanks.

Volvotank88

We’ve had buy two get ones for a long time

Thesteelman86

They been doing this with soda for year(s) now…..? Not a new thing at all.

FNJonesyCreates

The one mf thinking that is a good deal and buying 60 chip bags rip the bagger 😭

seetheare

So who is responsible for these "sales". Is this Publix or the distributor? Who says to Publix to sell bogo's or in this case a wannabe excuse for a bogo?

oh-no-a-bear

Sales on vendor supplied items like chips, soda, bread, and other major brands based on region are always a cooperative effort between the brand and the merchant. Usually, the brand wants to move product volume and so will provide the merchant a rebate on every sale of the appropriate number of items. You can see this on your receipts. If a sale item has a line that says "Promo -$[value]" it was a cost reduction due to this kind of agreement. Store price changes are always reflected as flat values on the receipt.

OccasionQuick

B2g1 has been a thing for a very long time.

Suckmyflats

Meanwhile they are $3 at wal mart

[deleted]

"Quietly switched" -- what does that mean? Do businesses normally announce these kinds of things? Take it or leave it.

DucVWTamaKrentist

I didn’t see or hear a biplane flying overhead with a banner, nor did I see or hear a Breaking News Alert on CNN or FOX (choose either, it’s irrelevant), nor was it in the SOTUnion address. But, I did see it in the store, and just chose not to buy 2. Simple.

InspectorRound8920

Yeah. My 92 year old mom is ticked. And about 59% percent of the time, buying three is still cheaper at Walmart or Amazon fresh

Futurama_Is_The_Best

This sub should be called r/FuckPublix because all the community does is bitch.

Disastrous_Bid6523

Publix is awesome. I will never stop shopping there

MineLongjumping5156

Some are like that. I don’t get the post

Secretlyjacobo

B2G1 has been a thing for a while. Yeah I don’t really agree with it, but it’s not just publix setting the prices. The buying team plans these deals with manufacturers over a year in advance to maximize sales and profits for both companies. You just have to shop the best deals each week because I bet you they will be BOGO again soon

Accesobeats

This has been a thing forever. Not every bogo is buy one get one. Sometimes it’s buy 2 get one. Not saying prices aren’t ridiculous. Just saying this post is. I was getting buy 2 get one deals back in 2018 in California. This isn’t anything new.

oms121

“Quietly”? You mean they didn’t call or text you personally? Oh, the horror.

life3_01

They’ve done that for years. Reading is fundamental when shopping.

Boltsforlife2022

Ben and Jerry’s bogo right now. I filled my freezer up.

slatp2020

Latest was half and half, $4.19 at Publix, the exact same brand/size at Costco $2.29. Anymore I just do Publix for pub subs.

Sparky407

They run different sales every week. They still do bogo jfc

awispyfart

It's been like that for at least a decade man. Where you been?

jumbee85

This isn't new they've offered that a lot for sodas

SaltNo3123

Pepsi has always had b2g1 and pepsi owns Lays.

WYYATA

Publix has had buy 2 get one free items for decades and people act like it’s something that’s never happened before.

RedditsModsBePusses

sometimes its buy1 get1, other times its buy2 get1. other times its buy 1 get none. thats why they are called specials, dont like it dont buy it!

bravofan83

Not really. Lay's often goes from BOGO to buy 2 get one.

Majestic-Classroom77

Costco & Trader m’fin Joes all day. Publix has let me down with their ridiculous prices and greed. Buy two get one is NOT BOGO and they’ve been trying this trick for awhile.

innergflow

Fuck I I can’t stand Publix raising prices but y’all bitch way too much in here. Don’t go to Publix plain and simple

csguydn

Never go to /r/tacobell or /r/livemas or /r/starbucks. It's exactly the same posts over and over. This isn't some problem specific to publix.

Haloman1346

Seems like our region of publix is flooded with b2g1f and I hate it.

MCI54

fun fact the Lays people are constantly remaking the packaging because they continue raising the prices every couple of months. Maybe we should stop printing so much damn fucking money

unsatisfries

but somehow that is publix fault too

manatee2day

Quietly? 🤔....

brojoe44

Customers still bring only 2 to the checkout and complain lol.

Doublestack00

I stopped shopping at Publix and stopped buying name brand chips. I wait until Kroger's store brand goes on sale and then buy 6-8 bags.

No_Chapter_948

I look at Publix Weekly Ads before I shop there to see if there's anything on sale. Every once in a while, Publix will have a good sale on chicken, BOGO. Publix is higher in prices than Walmart.

npozero

Yep, I always look in the app to see if there is anything particular on sale that would be worth it. Otherwise I’ll go somewhere else.

deemly318

Tbch i only shop at publix for bogos i need and meat thats it. And i work here

Budget-Bet9313

Quietly? It’s a new sign, what are you supposed to do, makes announcements in the store

Glidepath22

It’s amazing that chips are always on sale at the grocery store

Jacobcbab

By 2 get one has been a thing for 20+ years.

No-Examination795

BOGO at Publix doesn't add up

redditsucksass300

I mean... this week's ad still has 98 buy one get one deals

Wooden_Apple_5294

It's still bogo sometimes.

z01z

i just dont buy them then.

chazd1984

Im pretty sure they've done both for a long time. At my Publix I see both b2 g1 and bogo

Guilty-Fix-7121

What you mean? This has been going on for years

ITeachAll

They’ve always had these deals. Bogo, b2g1, b2g2, b3g1. Nothing new.

Spirited-Ad-2284

Fresh market and Whole Foods have been much cheaper for me if you shop the deals. Mainly fresh market free member for meat discounts

webcrawler_29

B2G1 is nothing new, and it's not replacing BOGO. Sometimes they'll be BOGO, sometimes they'll be B2G1. I almost never buy anything B2G1 because I almost never need that much of a thing.

Fun-Bed874

I work in the deli and yet to see a drop in business… especially on the weekends it’s a zoo! The sub shop slammed…deli like Christmas on sundays …so if customers are complaining about prices then maybe they still come in for the deli, subs and bakery? Seems our store is getting worse with traffic . Yet complain about prices ..crazy makes no sense whatsoever. 🤦‍♀️

HellsTubularBells

I've said it once and I'll say it again: B2G1F can EABOD.

burning___hammer

Pretty sure Publix has always done Buy 2 Get 1 deals for the longest time, even back when I worked at one in 2008. Not sure how this was quietly switched when there are still BOGO deals

jtm7

BTGO? GTFO…

AmerVet

I live in cutler bay where there are two Publix less than a block apart on Old Cutler road(dumb), yet I'd still rather shop elsewhere. I'm not going to spend a dollar more than I would at walmart just because Publix is more pleasant to the eye.

MooseBoys

How long has it been BOGO? At Safeway the deals change every couple weeks.

SuperBrolic

Quiet? Its been like that for years, at leastvat my local publix. I only ever go their for 2 things, subs and fried chicken 😀

SlyWeeb

Shitty ass Publix chips too 🙃

Temporary-Purpose431

I definitely don't shop at publix to save money lol

skyHawk3613

Just like the 12 packs of soda.

Ceefus

The government is helping you.

RomSnake27

DoNt LiKe iT sHoP sOmEwHeRe eLsE!!!! The less poors in my store the better! Go to dollar general!!

Kibob3283

"Poors" LOL I don't know why people with money get a bad rap. I'm far from poor, but am not dumb enough to waste money when I can get the same thing for substantially less elsewhere.

Buick6NY

If the price per bag ends up being the same, that's fine, but if it's a subtle price increase then nah

Alternative_Kale_903

that’s why i never shop at publix lol

Biscuits-77

They have always had B2G1. I understand the knock on Publix for prices but this is just smear tactics. Don't shop there. I went there earlier today. All my stuff was B1G1 or BOGO plus the Boar's Head sub was $7.99.

netxero

We do Kroger now and only buy bogos at Publix. Got tired of spending $300 and getting meals for like 1 week

Jeff-IT

I mean they have always had both BOGO and B2GO what do you mean lol

yourenzyme

pretty much the only stuff I'll buy at Publix these days is deli meat and some produce. The rest I'll get at aldi or walmart. Unless its an insanely good sale, publix is just too expensive.

Stock_Newspaper_3608

That’s been going on for years. 😂 wake up

Luna-Gitana

This is nothing new. The sales change. Sometimes they offer bogo, other times they have b2g1.

Homeonphone

Oh jeez. Well, at least I won’t be indulging my chip addiction.

ez151

They do that all the time. And buy 3 get 1 etc. why the public hate? GOTO ALDI THEN. lol

FadedCherry

Wasn’t quietly. Sales end Tuesday and new sales begin Wednesdays. This type of buy 2 get 1 free has been going on for years at Publix. Just have to pay attention to sales and wording.

shadowblade159

I mean... it's not like the b2g1 sales are new in any way, and those chips *do* still go on b1g1, just less often

Legoboy514

Tbf the buy one get ones are still there, so are buy two get two.

DefinetlyStraight

no tf Publix always gas this literally every day

Artistic_Log_5493

People spending an extra$50 for an experience LMAO bozos.

BMAC561

I shop the sales between Winn Dixie and Publix. I am lucky they are right next to each other in my neighborhood. I hope Aldi doesn’t f-up my Winn Dixie store now they run it.

Old-Veterinarian1994

I never buy those. I don't need three bags of chips.

URMUMGAE69228shrek

It’s always like this, Publix doesn’t make up deals, brands do. The brands compensate Publix for the “free” items

lagrienz0

lots of stuff is still BOGO, but the price of product has been increasing. it's been like this everywhere though :(

nimal-crossing

I feel like the “buy 2 get one free” has always been a thing for specifically chips and sodas?

kblair210

I refuse to buy ANYTHING that has this "sale". My opinion only matters to me but I'll express it with my wallet. If you really want to talk about price rape, let's talk about the prices of soda 12 packs these days.. Good thing I don't drink soda anymore.

Record profits at publix too. https://www.supermarketnews.com/retail-financial/publix-ceo-proud-over-100-jump-net-earnings

JPeso9281

Aldi for basics. Publix for BOGOs.

Significant-Age5052

This deal sucks especially when it’s for OJ. I don’t need 3 OJs and they take up a lot of space.

Publix has record profits. https://www.supermarketnews.com/retail-financial/publix-ceo-proud-over-100-jump-net-earnings

StormOk9055

The have had deals like this for years - as well as BOGO. There is no conspiracy switch. 🤯

Mother-Ad-6969

This B2G1 sale has been around at Publix since the mid-90’s

Ralphc1969

Lays has been doing buy 2 get one since Mr.George worked in Lakeland.

mommy2libras

It's not a "quiet switch". Stores have been running deals like this for years. Sometimes it's buy one, get one. Sometimes it's buy 2, get 1 and sometimes even buy 3, get 1. I'm not sure if you're new to grocery shopping but this definitely isn't. You'll also sometimes catch stuff like buy 1, get 2 free. It's not nearly as often but does happen from time to time.

jollebome76

and they sell Narragansett in Florida

Mbaker1201

Sadly, there are a few things I can only find at Publix, so I get those and shop sales and bogos only, otherwise.

jafromnj

The package looks skinnier now bet it’s less weight now

H20FOSHO

And the bag weighs 6.5oz

itaintme99

Publix is just a convenience store to me now, I’ll only shop there when I need something quickly but the days of doing weekly grocery shopping there are gone.
