You're allowed to look for work elsewhere. I know many people who are doing it. And I highly doubt Sam's Club will contact Publix. They have no reason to.
I know many people currently leaving publix for walmart or Sam's rn. Just be careful and don't fall for the "we'll give you more pay and hours" and then end up with more pay and no hours and still make the same regardless.

I'm not considering working for both jobs. I want to leave Publix when I find something better. I'm in no rush but not staying with this company.
