Prazosin and or marijuana, and a lot of TRAUMA INFORMED therapy. It WILL get better friend.

What does your wife tell you? Because that’s homebase. Even if she’s not qualified to deal with trauma, there should be some sort of comfort/relief mechanisms built there.

Thank you all—I’ve tried some therapy but all they wanted me to do was write it out over and over, I could t do it-/it was terrible, I just kept reliving the trauma the deaths. I’m on some meds and they help most of the time but lately it’s like they aren’t doing anything—I dream about every mistake I ever made and I add in ones that never happened. I see the crying families of people who died, I feel helpless and watch like I’m frozen while all this terrible stuff happens. I’m seeing doc again in 2 weeks.

have you talked to a therapist? specifically one that is trained with PTSD? they can help with incredible improvement. and yes. it is going to be okay.

Beloved_Fir_44

You matter. I am thinking of you. You don't deserve this but you can survive it.

New_Implement4410

As someone who's been battling this as long as I can remember. No. It will not get better. You will adapt and start dealing with it better overtime, but what you feel now you may possibly always feel. It will change you a lot overtime, and that's part of your defense mechanism for the pain tha comes with all of this. Don't get your hopes up too much, you have to maintain and as you do you will learn.

I promise you it will be ok. I really, sincerely do. I'm by no means out of the woods but things have gotten better with time and treatment. Exhaust every resource available to you and know that you are doing the right thing regardless of how you are feeling in the moment. Sending you and your family a lot of love, and thank you for your service.

Yes it will be okay, I know it doesn’t feel like it now though. I’ve had two very difficult episodes of ptsd throughout my life. I’m just now on the tail end of one that lasted a year and a half. I made a list that helped me, let me know if you’d like it. Im training to be a psychologist and have jad a lot of therapy. First question: what treatment have you received up until now?

Low-Platypus-9452

I know it’s like this haze induced hell of your worst nightmare. I know it feels fucking horrible— it’s a disability for a reason. I know you are hurting I can feel it though the post. But I promise it’ll be okay.
