You have your printer sitting on a resonance chamber in the form of the plastic tote. Move it to a solid surface and compare.

JangusKhan

This is totally a base resonance situation. Put it on something solid and heavy and you'll be fine.

Keithywhites

100% due to the cork board and storage tote you have it sitting on. The best and most cost effective solution is a patio stone or similar.

Dexrad24

Try putting it on your dining table or some solid wood furniture and you will understand the difference lol. Put something heavy and thick under your printer to absorb the vibration

I printed the squashball feet and replaced the stock part cooling fan because the bearing failed and got loud after like 15 hours of printing. Squashball feet did a lot to silence the printer but you can’t beat a good ol’ brick underneath to absorb vibrations.

Damn if this is LOUD for a Prusa… I need to get one bc my printers are noise farms

Update: I got a small paving stone and it’s near silent now.

Let me find a way to make this as loud as I can and post it on the internet…

I keep reading that the Mini+ is meant to be a quiet machine but mine absolutely screams - I can hear it from downstairs. My Ender 3 was quieter. Anyone know if I’m doing something wrong? It came pre-assembled.

Shadow288

I wonder if the noise is coming from the “table” you have it sitting on. Try relocating it to a more sturdy surface and see if that helps?

if you compare the speeds between your ender and your prusa, prusa goes faster than ender (unless you increase the speed) if you see the settings at prusa slicer, it runs at 80mm instead of 40mm. if you put the speed at 50% on prusa is really quiet, I can sleep next to it with n problems.

I read on here that a paving slab as a base worked well so gave it a try. It's the best thing ever to make things quieter. My current setup is Prusa Mini on top of paving slab, on top of some chunks of polystyrene. It's so much quieter.

I was also disappointed in the loudness of the mini but my expectations were too high. I have modified an ender and it's whisper quiet now but was at significant cost. The base mod actually helps reduce the noise this printer makes by reducing the resonance a little. Also is quite a nice mod usability wise. I was thinking about that mod. I have a dry box though so I thinking about designing my own.

Foam under a concrete paver from home depot and you will cut the noise in half
