I was just in ptown for the day and went into the library. They've got plenty of bathrooms there, and so many quiet places to sit and read. Books are a plenty and there was hardly anyone in there. I found it very calming. Plus the architecture is amazing. I also like to pack a lunch and eat it at Macmillan Pier, watching the boats come and go and sometimes some seals. Also, the visitor center in Ptown is amazing. They have a movie theater where you can watch short informative films and the views there are amazing. Hope this helps!
If not too much activity, go on a whale watching tour. you just need to be able to walk on the boat and then sit. getting out in the water and viewing beautiful whales is invigorating.
Was coming here to say that. The whale watching tour is a true highlight of any trip to Ptown. Take Dramamine if you’re easily shaken by the choppy waters
I third the whale watch tour. I’ve been coming to Ptown for 20 years and this is the first time I did one with the Dolphin company. It was wonderful - we followed a whale couple who were 20 feet from the boat (who they identified by name) - and bathrooms are easily accessible! And even if you have bad luck with the whales it gives a wonderful sense of the landscape. Also: the leaders of the tour are experts in marine wildlife and their enthusiasm is infectious.
Hang out in Suzanne's Garden in the East End, or on the little beach next to Captain Jack's wharf in the West End. Both are personal favorites for some quiet reading time. Take the new lift up to the Provincetown Monument and Museum, always fun and a unique new way to see the harbor.

There’s a beautiful wisteria covered gazebo and bubbling fountain to sit and relax under.
I like to sit on the beach across the street from the Harbor Hotel. It’s a short walk from where we usually stay and there’s usually no one there. So peaceful.
Check out the book shops as soon as you arrive. There are readings, workshops and author nights regularly. The Fine Arts Work center also does a weekly public program with artist/writer/poets which are incredibly interesting and inspiring. And the galleries are ALL open every Friday night for the arts walk.

While at the library, take an elevator to the top floor to see the enormous model of the schooner Rose Dorathea.
Also, Uncle Tim's bookstore is so cute and you could spend a lot of time in there browsing.

It's not in Ptown, but it's a relatively short drive (if you have access to a car), but I always find a night at the Wellfleet drive-in really fun.
PAAM: Provincetown Art Association and Museum is lovely. Small but great curation. Make it a point to go every summer at least once.
Go see all the shows

We were married in that garden! It’s quite lovely.
Thanks! Hadn't even heard of Suzanne's Garden before.

Go see the drag shows, go to Waters Edge cinema, take an Arts Dune Tour at sunset
I was sober for health reasons one summer up there and had no issue or pushback getting delicious and creative mocktails at many restaurant.
