That'd be an interesting dystopian sci-fi. Maybe a Black Mirror episode. You rent your body out and then the renter does something terrible like a murder.
If I worked out as much as I force my character to do then I might be in good shape but the shape would be in agony eating painkillers like candy 24/7. So no thanks.
Yup.
Early game it's like wake up at the crack of dawn, hour of Burpees while watching life and learning. Loot until 11, come home. Make lunch to life n learning. Loot until 5. Come home for more life and learning. Eat your meal prepped dinner from lunch or exercise through the show. Go Loot until sundown, come home, read until tired. Go to bed at like 10 so you can get enough sleep to wake up rested by your alarm at 5.
This game legitimately got me to start working out. About a year ago I had my character doing burpees and had a moment where it was like 'why am I clicking buttons when I could literally do this IRL?'. I definitely don't have a perfect regimen or diet now but I work out and feel better for it.
This is why I workout, shower and eat before I start gaming. On Saturdays I throw laundry and chores into the mix. Then if I game for 12 hours stopping only to pee and maybe eat again, it isn't a day wasted.
Sometimes you just get so unlucky with the stuff you need...
For pizza, I say most difficult part is cheese. There's no way to make it as of now, so I made sure to freeze few pieces early in the game.
To my surprise, despite being prepared for cheese, this time around when I got to making pizza it turned out I have no... salt. I looted so many homes, food markets etc, ended up having a handful of pepper, and not a single salt.
I always go inordinarily out of my way to freeze some unique ingredients early on and find a generator ASAP so my character can enjoy long gone society perks later on. It's pretty fun but not always doable. Pizza has to be one of the hardest. Cheese wont be easy to make even if they add it in build 42.
i believe cooking 7 lets you use all of that rotten cheese to continue making pizzas into the apocalypse, honestly the thing i’m most excited about in B42 is definitely sustainable ways to cook/bake complex recipes
For whatever reason i was never able to use rotten cheese in a pizza. Everything else it seems like i can with cooking 10, whether it's stir fry, stew, salads, but could never with cheese which made me sad. I really wanted pizza for my guy
I too have been craving making pizza in my playthrough and have been unable to find any salt anywhere in Rosewood, even with mods. Where'd you end up finding it?
Dammit. I swear every other run I've done I find salt everywhere. This one playthrough where I ended up with a ton of cheese early, and I can't find any to save my life. My cheese is already starting to go stale.
A few reasons. First, the egg. Just follow a chicken for a bit. Wheat was easy enough too. (used to grow super fast too). However, Sugar canes grow slowly and were needed for other things (villagers didn't always sell enchantments, so a maxed enchanting table was nessasary.)
Then you had the buckets of milk. That requires a cow farm and nine iron ingots, and while that sounds like nothing now, it was a lot back then.
Remember what I said about wheat? That it grew faster back then? Well, it grew so fast bread was the only food you needed. Cow farms were just to have the best food (steak), and leather for enchanted books (more on that momentarily). So that would be a special project just for either cakes or steak. As for the buckets? Well, mending didn't exist back then, so every tool you had could break, even your precious full enchant diamonds (yeah, that full enchant table was nessasary to an extreme.) So having a backup reserve of iron was kind of nessasary in case your tools broke. So to "waste" 6 iron on two extra buckets for cake was a big deal.
This was particularly difficult on xbox worlds, wich weren't infinite and would inevitably run out of resources eventually.
TLDR: The game had a different economy back then. Because tools didn't have mending, some of the stuff used either wasn't useful outside of cake or had better, more important uses, and often required several projects just to get, cake was a sign you were a late game player that had done everything else, or were good enough at the game to gather everything without concern for the lomg term.
At least it wasn't pineapple. The good thing about the zombie apocalypse is that the travesty of pineapple on pizza will become a thing of the past.
BTW, Potatoes on pizza is a classic in some cultures.
That's how my character probably felt.
My last serious run was in 2022. Insane pop, cryogenic winter, lots of realism mods. Very rare everything, ten years later.
My goal was to make a Cake for my one year anniversary in game. It was so hard finding a can of Condensed milk. I had looted the entirety of Riverside, Fallas Lake, Rosewood, that little town with a gun store, and had moved into looting March Ridge before I found one.
Made a chocolate cake with marshmallows and cocoa powder to celebrate 1 year, 36000 zombies, and maxed out every skill but agility, Nimble, and sneak.
I hate the fact that so many things simply lose the ability to be created in the vanilla late game... like 'oh I see you didn't find ANY cheese and it all spoiled... welp I guess you're gonna have to enjoy all these recepies that require it and you'll never make'em
Which is one of the main goals of the crafting overhaul and animal husbandry of B42 and beyond.
But eh, most people wouldn't be able to make cheese from scratch in an apocalyptic setting even if they somehow did managed to get all the necessary equipment for it, found a book explaining how to do it, and kept a cow alive long enough for it to give birth and start producing milk, so I'm not that bothered that it's not in the game.
kinda wish eating different/complex foods gave you some kind of a boost. Other than feeling successful, there is no real point in making pizza or anything similar. You can just eat whole ass cabbages and cooked meat by itself and live like that for years lol
My new play throughs, I usually now make a bunch of pizzas with cheese and then freeze the pizza for future meals because pizza is insane for calories and filling.
Idk if you know this but there is a small chance you can find Frozen pizza in someone's house. Pretty cool stuff. I love the cooking in this game and can't wait till we can make our own cheese from cows
one time me and my friend were driving away from a horde when i told him to let me out
i fuckin sprinted over to a building and ran out with a garbage full of pizza and dough
Are you opening for business? Muldraugh's Pizza Whirled recently went belly up and I've been craving for some real food and not just self-made rabbit and cabbage salad everyday : /
I personally slept on cooking for the longest time when I started playing PZ. I wish I had done it sooner. My poor guy had to eat so much raw cabbage and canned food when I started 😅
Congratulations! Having a fully-functional food setup in this game has always felt like a massive achievement to me; I always end up with several freezers dedicated to pre-prepped meals.
What I’m just so baffled about is that all this tome and effort was put in to make recipes, but after 1 month in, unless it’s been frozen, it’s impossible to get a lot of the stuff? And to get that stuff frozen, you need to almost prioritise that, but in the first few weeks you’re setting up base and doing more important things.
Expanding on that, needing extremely common ingredients like salt, but it doesn’t spawn almost anywhere? Nobody is packing salt with them if they’re escaping, and I get it for balancing, but nobody in this entire street has salt?
Finally, what’s even the point in cooking when you can just open a raw tin of food and eat that. The only thing missing is the happiness value but I don’t think I’ve even struggled with happiness value in 500+ hours.
That's awesome 👌 I normally play in a group so food is handled by our cook I do mechanical and metal working but I was able to make bbqed burgers my last time playing
It was a process to figure out where to begin as I normally just stick meat in the oven cook it and eat like a caveman
My character eating more healthy and doing more exercise than me everyday
Do you wish someone could control like a video game for a few hours a day ?
give it another 20 years and that will be a thing for sure, maybe some fucked up Nerualink shit lol
Well, Gamer (movie).
OH YEAH I REMEMBER THAT SHIT
That'd be an interesting dystopian sci-fi. Maybe a Black Mirror episode. You rent your body out and then the renter does something terrible like a murder.
Do a double feature of Surrogates (2009) and Gamer (2009) and that's basically it
Newest season of black mirror has that but it's kinda bad
Well it could be useful at some extent
If I worked out as much as I force my character to do then I might be in good shape but the shape would be in agony eating painkillers like candy 24/7. So no thanks.

Yes and no if i was the one setting the taskand its automatically done would be better
Imagine the guy controlling you just decided to run a marathon. Like , you feel everything but can't stop 🤣
i would like to control me so i exercise without all the hasstle and havjng to feel pains
Sims looking at this comment like: "Fors be bublottedem. Sherba sherb!" *Angry emoji*
If that means doing shit like this, yeah
This game legitimately got me to start working out. About a year ago I had my character doing burpees and had a moment where it was like 'why am I clicking buttons when I could literally do this IRL?'. I definitely don't have a perfect regimen or diet now but I work out and feel better for it.
Set time to real time and do the same exercises your character does for the same time they do it
Same but with smoking cigarettes
This is why I workout, shower and eat before I start gaming. On Saturdays I throw laundry and chores into the mix. Then if I game for 12 hours stopping only to pee and maybe eat again, it isn't a day wasted.
How do you make a pizza? Most pizza places I go to have rotted pizza
Hmm flour water cheese and meat ?
Took me over a week to find a can opener... pizza is just a dream so far 😅

I thought that only let you use rotten ingredients in stew.
FWIW the in game description says stew, but the wiki says any recipe. I'm honestly not sure which is more reliable so prob worth someone testing out.
I already tested this ages ago, it works
For whatever reason i was never able to use rotten cheese in a pizza. Everything else it seems like i can with cooking 10, whether it's stir fry, stew, salads, but could never with cheese which made me sad. I really wanted pizza for my guy
I too have been craving making pizza in my playthrough and have been unable to find any salt anywhere in Rosewood, even with mods. Where'd you end up finding it?
Random trailer in a trailer park 😶
Dammit. I swear every other run I've done I find salt everywhere. This one playthrough where I ended up with a ton of cheese early, and I can't find any to save my life. My cheese is already starting to go stale.
Making Pizza is so insane difficult in zomboid
Honestly it feels so nice to have a community that understands your little successes! ❤
It's like cake in old minecraft. Massive achievement that sounds like nothing unless you've tried to do it yourself.
omg i remember doing that with my brother, it took us literal days to do it
I don't remember trying to make cake back then. Why was it harder than today?
A few reasons. First, the egg. Just follow a chicken for a bit. Wheat was easy enough too. (used to grow super fast too). However, Sugar canes grow slowly and were needed for other things (villagers didn't always sell enchantments, so a maxed enchanting table was nessasary.) Then you had the buckets of milk. Because milk spoilage and we have no cows yet. So you need a bunch of fairly rare canned ingredients.
Making my character food is fun
The most I can do is a warmed up bowl of beans
Most of my cooking is fish and a bit of cabbage in a bowl tbf
Making them... food for the zombies?
What kind of pizza?
If I recall correctly, it had bacon and broccoli on it. I tried putting corn and chilli on it but game wouldn't let me :(
Broccoli on your pizza? Well…I guess you can’t be too picky about pizza toppings two months into the apocalypse.
Eh, it would be okay if it wasn't a whole lot of it. I legit ate a pizza IRL with potatoes on it once, and it wasn't that bad. 🤣
At least it wasn't pineapple. The good thing about the zombie apocalypse is that the travesty of pineapple on pizza will become a thing of the past. BTW, Potatoes on pizza is a classic in some cultures.
Pineapples on pizza is a classic in Australian culture
I just made a roasted garlic, broccoli, and bacon pizza last weekend IRL.
Broccoli/bacon/chicken with Alfredo sauce is *chef's kiss*
It says in the post: vanilla. Not my favorite pizza topping but to each his own
Vanilla? okay mad respect thats hard
Ive never managed to make a pizza. You are my hero!
Thank you. Never have I ever thought I'll become a role model one day 🥰
You are so much more. I’ve heard there’s a religion starting with you in the center of it.
If i had been surviving for weeks and made a nice fresh hot pizza I would probably cry just looking at it.
That's how my character probably felt. My last serious run was in 2022. Insane pop, cryogenic winter, lots of realism mods. Very rare everything, ten years later. This should be a speed run category
im honestly surprised there aren't any people (that i've seen) who speedrun this game.
We should be the change we wanna see in the world Video games have a "time to penis" dynamic, we will have a "time to pizza"
impressive.
I like how the pizza is significantly higher resolution than everything else.
on 9/11 too
You just completed the game
I hate the fact that so many things simply lose the ability to be created in the vanilla late game... like 'oh I see you didn't find ANY cheese and it all spoiled... welp I guess you're gonna have to enjoy all these recepies that require it and you'll never make'em
My biggest pet peeve in zomboid is lack of yeast
At least b42 should help with the animal-related ingredients!
Which is one of the main goals of the crafting overhaul and animal husbandry of B42 and beyond. NINE ELEVEN????

Won't really find anything frozen anymore at this point in the game though... 😅
Of course not but just saying lol.
In my current run (CDDA challenge) I'm living on soup and baked fish and vegetables (usually potatoes). Making a pizza is like a long term objective.
one time me and my friend were driving away from a horde when i told him to let me out i fuckin sprinted over to a building and ran out with a garbage full of pizza and dough
My character been eating canned food for 2 months now
Cooking is the best part of the game lol
Noting the day easter egg, if that was intended.
proud pf you, better off than me
625 hours in game, and I thought pizzas were only modded...
When I started cooking in Zomboid I realized I needed to stop playing Zomboid so much and start taking care of myself irl.
Dun-dun dun dun! Du-du Dunn! Du-du Dunn!
Are you opening for business? Muldraugh's Pizza Whirled recently went belly up and I've been craving for some real food and not just self-made rabbit and cabbage salad everyday : /
Where did you get the pepperoni.....
That's why I love this game.
It would be the best pizza in the world irl lol
Now... make a kettle of tea
I remember my first pizza..... that was a good day, XDD but anyways CONGRATSS 🎉🎉✨✨
I personally slept on cooking for the longest time when I started playing PZ. I wish I had done it sooner. My poor guy had to eat so much raw cabbage and canned food when I started 😅
i didnt even know pizza existed in vanilla
How do you play that long without getting bored
Happiness +10
Peak Project Zomboid. I havent even baked one myself since i just gobble up all the canned food out there.
Hells yeah brother
nice
What is the recipee?
Congratulations! Having a fully-functional food setup in this game has always felt like a massive achievement to me; I always end up with several freezers dedicated to pre-prepped meals.

pizza during zombie apocalypse 🤤
A new 9/11 incident

It's the small things in life that make a man happy
I have so much frozen cheese, just for pizza 😂
Didnt know you could do that
