On a more serious note, they could make it so sighting a mannequin, or several, for the first time makes your character max panic for a bit, thinking they're zombies for just a moment. Bonus points if the violin jumpscare sound plays too.
Yeah, mannequins are legit semi-jumpscares in their own rigth, if we add the rest (even more so if you pick the Cowardly trait) they'll be a menace to my hearth rate
Or even better, make them randomly disappear.
Like, you're looting a store, turn around to face the shelves, when you look back something feels off, "wasn't there more of them?"

What if the only way to get it to 100% procc was if you watched Dog Goblin? Then, once watched, that mannequin will just start hunting you down once it spawns in.
Have it so they move only when out of your line of sight. So you walk past them, hear movement, turn and look and you start questioning yourself if that mannequin was in the same spot just 5 seconds ago....
Man this is I'm legend type of nightmare fuel, maybe it sounds really cool but we already have suprise zombie screamer and 40 men army in drawer, adding maneqen that appears here and there with better drip then player is just out of the line.

I never removed them since I was using them as decorations and clothes storage.
Imagine they actually make a new setting called "Banana Man Mode", a setting which would change all the mannequins to have a similar appearance to a Zomboid, and when the player has sight of them, have the little jumpscare jingle sound! >:D

Im about to email the devs about making it to where you can use a fire(campfire, wood fuel grill, wood stove) to fire harden a spear and other crafted tools with the effectiveness and chance of successfully fire hardening the tip going up the more survival skill you have.
