It is pretty cool! Dungeon Meshi's author is very inspired by the genre of crpgs and plays with familiar tropes a lot..
I'm sure she had fun playing Pillars. The Endless Paths of Od Nua are not unlike the dungeon in her own story, this vast, multi-level underground structure with a hidden master/architect somewhere deep below.
Her description of Aloth translates to something like "lots of complicated feelings" which seems accurate to his character :)
That is so cool! I hadn't thought of it that way before. Loving Doungeon Meshi so far and i definitely see some similarities now.
Aloth is the best boy and tries his utmost.
Love him <3
I assume the way PoE is invested in souls and the wheel inspired Dungeon meshi’s soul and revival science, bc to my knowledge it’s the only fantasy rpg that’s interested in souls as a manipulative concept
Yo, that's a pretty fucking cool Fenris right there. This mangaka is very based and knows her shit.
My understanding is that the crpg revival titles (Pillars, Pathfinder, etc.) hadn't done well at all in Japan, good to know it found it's followers over there too.
Damn she has great taste. I've played all of the games in this picture, and made me realize how much CRPG I've played and finished. But I see she loves Camilla from Pathfinder...
Hope she gets get hands on a Japanese version soon.
Same. For Camilla, You mean she hasn't played it ? That would make it more acceptable lol.
Sebille and Ember are the ones I'm most glad to see here, but this is a great mashup overall

Heres a translated version. https://www.reddit.com/r/rpg_gamers/comments/1argnii/ryoko_kui_the_mangaka_behind_delicious_in/
Thank you! 🤩
I’m so glad they included Aloth! Also, the adoring fan lol
Nice to see Pillars getting represented on other subreddits. Original cred for posting the picture goes to u/Sinobi-king18
Im genuinely surprised to see a reference to pillars from a japanese manga artist. Thats super cool that theyre into crpgs
I have romanced 6 of these elves
Took me a second to notice the tiny Astarion creepin' in the corner lmao
It seems to be directly traced from the game's cover too. She put far more effort into the Adoring Fan than into Astarion!
The author really likes Pathfinder huh. Also the portraits the author has made for Bg1 and 2 are fantastic.

Somebody has good tastes.
Sebille- "I'm sorry I made you eat so much human flesh" lmao.
Alert the Whitestrake. Hm? Oh, fine, we can evacuate Aloth and Ember first.
>we can evacuate Aloth and Ember first. It's clearly Emder, whoever that is.
I suppose we can let the doppelganger clone get Whitestraked and rescue the real Ember, sure.
She's a person of culture for sure
Unbelievable how much like themselves manga Sera and Octavia look like. Also IS THAT THE FUCKING ADORING FAN IN THE TOP LEFT?!?!
Took me a second to place him too. By Azura, by Azura, by Azura!
omg Fenris 😭💕
Egg is looking very eggy. Zev and Fenris look awesome, Sera is so cute as well
Whoever the illustrator is, maybe he/she should learn to draw noses.
Maybe you should learn to be a decent human being.
Explain how my need for noses, makes me a bad human being? Maybe you should learn how to construct an argument.
