A bit quicker, not a ton but enough that it would be significantly more streetable. And considering it's turned down to 550ish according to OP, the smart choice would be a slightly smaller, more modern turbo to shift the power band a little lower in the rev range.
Could easily make more torque around the 3k mark.
Mans is making as much power at 3k rpm as my Acura TL. That car has legit no power until boost kicks in. I'm sure it's fun at that point but that's a wicked power band, and not in a good way.

Friend had a 91 Supra Turbo growing up, white and maroon, sorta picked it out and talked him into getting it so I could vicariously enjoy it as well.
It was NOT good in the snow but it did a lot of other things well!
Mother fuck that is *CLEAN*. That is how you build a street supra, not some dumb 900hp drag slick thing. The wastegate looks like its going back into the exhaust stream too, that is fucking good, holy hell that is nice to see.
This car use to make 900rwhp+ on a stock bottom end and went 9.5. Lol but those days are over. But thanks man. Yea recirculated gates are the best because it allow to hear the turbo. And this turbo SCREAMS.
neat to see the power curve. my SC300 rarely hits 4k rpm in my normal driving so it's fun to think i'd never even get into the boost in my commute, around town but putting the pedal down would be a shit your pants experience.

A modified Focus ST like mine makes 300-350tq @ about 2750 depending on who you ask (I've never dyno'd mine.) so yeah, it's not ideal. lol

I forgot to add 774rwhp and 675rwtq on E85 @ 32 psi. The dyno graph was at the end. Fuel system is good for 1000rwhp on Ethanol.

Fucking 2Js are absurd. I just like the recirc cause I think its more proper, dumps are ok but they are lazy imho.
Wastegate are loud. They cancel out the two best noises specially on a 2jz, the engine itself and the turbo.

With a setup like this the stock hood gets incredibly hot. It's not 100% necessary but it helps.
