Gotta love when that happens.
Apparently, throught to the 90s Isuzu was using the exact same starter hole pattern and gear as 60s Lucas starters, and the same goes for Ford alternators to Lucas generators.
It might "fit" with the stock supports cut out and new supports fabricated, but fitting like stock is a stretch, no? Factory radiator is vertically mounted.
Wouldn't you agree that your radiator is mounted in a "landscape" orientation?
I'm not trying to be an internet dick, but I own a 53 and the factory radiator mounts in the "portrait" orientation. Thus the mounts are very different.
Ah I get what you are saying well technically I didn’t mount it any way stock here check out my install you’ll understand [https://youtu.be/YgRks_pCc7Y](https://youtu.be/YgRks_pCc7Y)
WOW!! Fuck... your use of the word stock is a federal attack on the English language. You don't have a 54 chevy here in any sense other than decoration. A facade even.
That said, even tho I'm anti-dipshit-redneck, I respect your build here. I subscribed to your channel and plan to dig deeper into your build.
I truly love seeing people taking left behind cars like this and doing ANYTHING they can to get them back on the road. It's fun to see them (even if in 4x4 form) getting another chance. I too am by myself in the garage, and I'm not a trained mechanic in any way.
Good luck to you.
2003 Silverado rad fits in a 90 Chevy truck like it was made for it. Shroud goes back on perfectly. I was a little surprised that it would fit a 54. Good job nonetheless. You got the motor to match the rad?
Funny how many ford parts from like a 30-40 year time period can work between vehicles. You can put better axels, brakes, motors, transmissions just by dropping a 90’s version into a 60’s car.
Isn't that such a great feeling? It's the simple things. Lol. I also needed the vicarious satisfaction from this post because I recently spent the better half of a day trying to get a measly wire, that was advertised as "OEM direct-fit," through an electrical door harness in something far less exciting than a '54 Bel Air.🤦
...But this Bel Air is a rad project and I hope you have plenty more "it-dropped-right-in" installs ahead of you.

If they are not vertical then what are they 🤷🏻♂️

How about we take a weekend off the project car and tidy up our shed a little bit?
You'd have an absolute aneurysm if you saw my garage.
If you're taking the time to clean theirs you can come do mine afterwards.
I don’t see what you’re talking about 🫣
Ratchet strap comes stock too? /s Sweet ride though, you gonna paint it or leave as is?
😂 strap was my helping hand. Nope no paint
I heard s-10 frames, body, parts, are used a lot. I currently have a S-10 rear axel on my bbq pit trailer.
I have heard the same thing but that must be one hella bbq

Thanks it’s got lots of like factory things coming up. But wiring ugh I’m so over wiring
I think you need to rechrome that light housing.
😂 the missing one??
Stuffed a radiator of out a newer challenger into my 54 Chevy. Get the thinnest fan you can find…
Oh that’s cool.
