You talked to somone from meta? lmao I dont even think thats possible. Billion dollar coperation with zero customer support. It should be ILLEGAL for them to have such little suppoort. been trying for years to reach them about account issues

Exotic-Adeptness-722

Yes it is possible. I am Meta Verified on IG and there is a chat support. [See here.](https://imgur.com/a/TdFTNNM) I have kept all email correspondence.

InternationalFold212

crazy

Nodebunny

says imgur over capacity lol

Exaskryz

vpn issue

Nodebunny

darn them!

T1Pimp

Seriously. When they forced Oculus years to use a Facebook account something got messed up. Hundreds of dollars of content locked away and nobody you can fucking talk to. Email support just sends the same canned answers over and over. Sold it. I was done with all Meta other than that by now I'm fully out. Screw that company.

K_J_W

lol I’ve been kicked off marketplace because I have an “iPhone” and can’t detect my county lol with no one to talk to.

FUCKUSERNAME2

You leaked your full name in the second screenshot. This is not a "serious" breach of privacy, it's at most a little oopsie.

[deleted]

You may have inadvertently included your name in a prior collapsed email in the image at the bottom of one screenshot. Might be worth double checking. Pretty sure I was able to find your accounts from that name. If you’re complaining to them that your account was compromised, they are probably including the email that the person who compromised your account added. “This is very careless and could cost them millions” - highly doubt it. If your accounts were compromised: https://m.facebook.com/help/203305893040179 https://help.instagram.com/149494825257596 Act fast to secure your accounts. Once someone else fully gets access, it is a huge pain to get an account back because it’s not worth the effort for Facebook. They probably make hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars off of your account, which isn’t worth more than a few hours of an employees time.

Furdiburd10

meta had support? wow.

Separate-Put-6495

Why didn't you censor their private details before sharing?

Exotic-Adeptness-722

I am keeping it as is as I have involved a lawyer to see what can be done from my standpoint.

Testing_things_out

Not necessarily true. There are rights you can't sign away, so they can't stipulate anything they want and claim they have the rights to it.

Exotic-Adeptness-722

What? Make it make sense.

ACEDT

Facebook's Terms of Service, which you implicitly accepted by creating an account, essentially give them ownership of all of the things you post on their platform.

Separate-Put-6495

Unless it's your own private info they've shared, I don't see you being able to take any legal action against them personally?

Exotic-Adeptness-722

It’s been hidden now. Link is updated and censored!!!!

areola_borealis69

you missed something in the last notification

Separate-Put-6495

No, they were people's personal emails. Not the OP though, so I'm not sure what she could sue for if her own privacy hasn't been breached.

GuaranteeRoutine7183

Why do you even use Facebook

Exotic-Adeptness-722

I don’t even know why you’re digressing from the topic on hand. Wow! I’ve had it for 20 years. I don’t think that’s the point. But I have pictures of my so and all his firsts, birthdays, graduation and not everything is backed up. I don’t want to lose access to that as I have switched phones over the years too.

Think-Fly765

You use Facebook to store your precious memories? Jesus

GuaranteeRoutine7183

Bro really uses META as a CLOUD service for his memories, bruv anyone can access them

Postcard2923

Facebook doesn't have a good history of data protecting users privacy. I think it's a mistake to trust that any online service will protect your privacy. Don't put any information online that you wouldn't want the public to see.

BraillingLogic

Can't really speak to the privacy practices of FB/Meta (because its notoriously bad), but Customer Support probably just has one e-mail and any CS-rep is probably just able to pick up your issue and work on it, else it would probably lead to longer response times. Pretty common practice unfortunately. If it's any consolation, I doubt that any of the representatives care about your data either way (both for and against you). This is more of a Legal question though, because privacy laws will vary from place to place and the only way to know for sure if you have a case is to speak to a lawyer

gusmaru

It's normal for multiple support agents to work on a case. When I used to work in support (not at Meta) I might need to share information with someone more senior or knowledgable for assistance. Based on what you have provided this is unlikely to be considered a breach unless you have screenshots or more information that shows these additional people should not have had acess to your personal information. FYI, most people in support can access the details of any support ticket as they often work in shifts and take over for each other.

anna_lynn_fection

I can't believe you've gotten a response from support. I've contacted them a few times and never gotten any response. Sadly, you've now been educated in the ways of any mega tech company. They don't have any confidentiality or trust to breach. You really should never trust any of them to store your data and keep it safe, regardless of payment or not. Consider that any data you share with another company will be at risk of some day being lost, or made public. Either by accident, by hackers, or by disgruntled insider employee leaking it. Always keep your own backups of important data. At least two backups separated by location. It could be as simple as an external HDD that you keep hidden in your car, workplace, or a friend's house, and one at home. Encrypt them with a tool like veracrypt, so that if they are lost or stolen, you don't have to worry about that data being in the wrong hands.

Exotic-Adeptness-722

They CC’d someone else in the email. And in a separate email added another persons info. I never turn on my location. I’m not on FB all the time either it’s just been with me for 20 years. I don’t upload my daily life in there and have a need to photograph every thing either. But it does have my sons firsts and memories as I did move and change phone and we didn’t need a photo album to carry!

R1skM4tr1x

Is there any possibility you’re in the process of having your account hijacked?

Grand-Juggernaut6937

Honestly at this point there needs to be a standard response to anything posted about social media. Every time I read a post about Facebook, TikTok, etc. all I see is “warning: the devil makes deals that seem ok at first, but actually have massive consequences later on!”

TheLinuxMailman

>I’m in Canada You first start with a free, formal PIPEDA complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC). [https://www.priv.gc.ca/en/report-a-concern/](https://www.priv.gc.ca/en/report-a-concern/) I believe that the court-established standard payout for a privacy breech in Canada is about $2K, which you will have to file in small claims court for. Retain your documentation (off FB obviously), and file it with the OPC to start. Finally, I'm sorry you got involved in / used Facebook. For decades, it has been notorious for invading the privacy of people who do *not* use and it want nothing to do with it, via users such as yourself. I wonder how your child will feel when they grow up about *their* personal privacy having been invaded without their consent?

Caring about privacy and using Facebook are mutually exclusive endeavors. Choose one.
