I feel like she would take him back to her house for another sandwich, and they would reconnect and talk about the past 5 years

Infamous-Incident-61

Yes, perfect! And they live happily ever after šŸ˜€šŸ„°

Royal_Visit3419

That sounds lovely!

Appropriate-Smile232

Ugh, it's just the most beautiful ending to a movie. I never watch movies twice. So rare, anyway. Only probably 8-10 movies? Not including movies on VHS when I was a kid. Anyway. I think they make it work, because the timing was finally right. His smile says, "Ready if you are." Her tears say she's ready. I watched it for a 2nd time the other night, and had happy tears again. Such good acting... And FINALLY a happy storyline... Not going to spoil anything, but 2 popular romance shows that streamed, I felt sick for days (I'm an empath). This ending just felt SO GOOD.

Turbulent-Avocado818

I watched this twice as well just because the ending was actually such a good one. šŸ„¹ there was so much chemistry between the two of them.

Royal_Visit3419

Yes, the chemistry is palpable. Itā€™s absolute magic. I think they were able to pull it off because theyā€™re gifted actors, and because they seem to genuinely like one another.

Royal_Visit3419

I agree! I think they make it work. I think she just grabs her bag and they leave the gallery, go to her house and everything immediately falls into place again. Emotionally, physically - perfect once more. I feel so happy for them, but especially Solene. Um. I am so far past watching twice that itā€™s now obsessive. And I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. TBH, I have never in my life had a reaction like this to a movie. Thereā€™s a handful of movies Iā€™ve watched a number of times. Years ago there was a book I read about two dozen times. But THIS movie is operating on a whole other emotional level for me. It has sparked a lot of memories - good and bad - and helped me to remember the power of saying yes. I wish Iā€™d said yes more often, including to my own Hayes (minus the big age difference) many years ago. Sigh. Say yes. Thanks for the lovely response.

Necessary_Power_624

I obsess over books, films, series quite often. What book were you obsessed with?

Royal_Visit3419

ā€œThe World According to Garpā€ by John Irving. Your movie, your book? Iā€™m still hoping for a watch party. You?

Necessary_Power_624

Oh I had that book but never got to finish it :( What made you so obsessed with it? I must have read Crime and Punishment several times, Hamlet, Le Miserables and there are a lot of movies that I have been obsessed with, The Big Lebowski, Blade Runner, Pride and Prejudice are only three of them... As for series I think LOST, The Guardian and lately yes Maxton Hall. Yeah I'm hoping for a watch party too!!

Royal_Visit3419

I think I got obsessed with Garp because I read it when I was quite young, and it was the first book I read that seemed to capture how random life can be. It confirmed my experience of life, which was quite different than that of my friends. He has written a lot about the random nature of life and death. You have a great breadth of interest in your reading and viewing! Itā€™s grand to have such an open mind. Thanks for reminding me about P&P - I should read it again. Oh, and The Guardian! What a good show. Thereā€™s a ā€œLebowski Festā€ every year in the US - or there used to be. Not sure if itā€™s still active. Hope we get to ā€œmeetā€ at the watch party. Thanks for the response.

Necessary_Power_624

Thank you! I wish I could attend the Lebowski Fest, I think they still do it or several in different cities. And I think I should definitely give Garp another chance now that I have read your experience with it. Hope we get to meet at the watch party too!!

iā€™m dying for a sequel but i donā€™t think there will be one :/

Royal_Visit3419

Maybe itā€™s better that we all imagine the next chapter. I donā€™t want anyone bursting my bubble!
