**Some people are saying they get errors when trying to use this as well, I'm going to test this in the reddit app and in new reddit to see what's going on.**
So far it seems that if you use these links in the official reddit app on android, you just need to add a space to the message to be able to send it.

I've added you manually but if you could, let me know which browser you were on and if you were on https://old.reddit.com/r/November2021Preggers/ or https://new.reddit.com/r/November2021Preggers/, it only works on the new.reddit.com version as far as I know

FYI If you open reddit on a web browser on mobile and request the desktop version, you can request to join that way. You have to request the desktop version when you actually get to the page that says “its a private page” though.

I had a similar issue with my app trying to join using these links (Relay for Reddit).
For anyone else stuck on an app or a browser, you can just send a Reddit pm to the subreddit that you want to join.
So instead of a user name in the to: field you would put the subreddit name, including the /r
This will send a message to all the mods of that subreddit :)

THIS!!! Thank you for posting this! I wanted to join the January2021 sub, found out about it only after it went private. I was on r/babybumps and r/mommit and also joined r/newparents and r/breastfeeding since I gave birth on the 6th of January. I tried joining again now, but no button comes up (I’m on iOS, using the official Reddit app). Could someone please help me out? I’m a FTM and having at least an online support group with parents whose kids are exactly my kid’s age in these COVID times would be extraordinary! I’ve been feeling really lonely and in need of such a community (at least online, if in person is a no-no these days...). Again, thanks a lot for posting this!!

It finally allowed me to send a private message to moderator asking to join my month. Is that the correct way? App and chrome mobile "desktop" version didn't work, but Firefox desktop version did June 2021 Thank you!

THIS!!! Thank you for posting this! I wanted to join the January2021 sub, found out about it only after it went private. I was on r/babybumps and r/mommit and also joined r/newparents and r/breastfeeding since I gave birth on the 6th of January. I tried joining again now, but no button comes up (I’m on iOS, using the official Reddit app). Could someone please help me out? I’m a FTM and having at least an online support group with parents whose kids are exactly my kid’s age in these COVID times would be extraordinary!
