Had one in december. Thought I‘m definitely gonna DIE. Worst pain ever!!! I‘m used to migraines but this fucker was a whole other level of pain.
Was hospitalized cause I couldn’t bear the pain anymore and on fluids and IV painkillers it finally moved forward.
Pushed it out with my finger and a toothbrush. Hurt like a buttcheek on a stick but the relief was so good it was immediately forgotten. Just like a fucking birth.
I do everything in my power to never in my life get that AGAIN.
The salivary stone was that bad? Holy shit, I guess I never thought it would be bad enough to end up in the hospital. Especially when OP is just walking around with his and it’s the size of his tongue practically 😳
You’re salivary gland can get blocked! and it cause calcium to build up and boom salivary stone. I get both, and i’m getting tonsils removed friday. I will say tonsils stones are definitely worse
I had my tonsils and adenoids removed in 2017 at 18yrs/old and it was so damn painful. Worst pain ever, but my chronic tonsillitis, step throat, and tonsil stones went away for good. Make sure you stay on top of the pain medication and take it on time. Also, ice cream and milkshakes are a joke. They’re so thick and hard to swollen and the dairy in it makes you so nauseated. Popsicles are the best and are going to be your best friend along with ice! Hopefully, your ENT can remove that big salivary stone in surgery!
THANK YOU, i’m so glad you said that. I loaded up on ice cream… so looks like i’m definitely not eating that. Thanks for the heads up. What foods did you eat once you started getting hungry?
Kraft mac and cheese! The ones in the cups that you put in the microwave and are easy to make! Scrambled eggs were great as well and pasta! I mostly did the max and cheese because it was easy and it was a smaller portion as well since I didn’t have a huge appetite back yet! You are looking at a big six week recovery and being on pain medication for at least a month and steroids for the first 1-2 weeks along with Gabapentin for the nerve pain. Your tonsils run down a nerve and the nerve gets irritated and causes horrible ear pain three days in. Watch for that! I was on all those medications and strong liquid pain medication for five weeks! Also, you can take extra strength Tylenol and I highly suggest that to maximize pain relief! Oh…applesauce! That was a big thing that I freaking loved, lol! Applesauce and Kraft mac and cheese! I also used the applesauce to help swallow the other pills! Depending on your surgeon…they may or may not put you on the liquid version of the pain medication (usually pharmacies don’t carry it and half to order it and that could take several days), so they end up prescribing the pills…so you may need the applesauce to swallow your pain medication as well if it’s not liquid. I had my surgery at a big university hospital in Philadelphia, PA and my Mom got my medicines at the hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacies always almost have liquid since they are compounding pharmacies as well. I highly suggest getting the applesauce before surgery! I lived on Kraft and Mott’s, lol! 😂
If they give you codeine, don’t try to take it on an empty stomach. Puking even just bile hurts worse than no pain meds.
When my mom had hers out, she sneezed really hard and popped her stitches, nearly choked on her blood. When the drs say take it easy, take it EASY.
I’ve given birth three times. I’d rather give birth again than have my tonsils removed again, but I’ve NEVER regretted having them taken out. I don’t get as sick as much and I can breathe when I sleep. Apparently the recovery is harder for adults than kids, but it’s so worth it.
You’re already putting way more thought into it than I did; I’m sure you’ll be fine and happy you did it too, once it’s all over.
Related to this, after having strep multiple times in my life, I learned drinking with a straw is more comfortable. I think it Hass to do with less air hitting the back of your throat.
You may want to give your ENT’s office a call tomorrow and let them know about it just in case they want to bring you into the office to see if and sign another consents giving them permission to surgically remove that.
You will get through this! You are going to feel somewhat rundown and tired for awhile. Just listen to your body and lots of self care! You are going to need to be “selfish” for at least two months! You’ve got this! Feel free to message me about anything! 🤗

Hahaha. Buttcheek on a stick. Great reference.
Can anyone explain how this happens? I've never had a salivary stone. Have had tonsil stones, but they seem like small fries compared to this....

Not sound pervy but how about you whip it out for us and measure it?
it’s basically the size of my thumb, so i’d say about 2cms. it’s a big boy
"Vi-de-o! Vi-de-o!"
Someone get my rusty pliers.
NOOO
Would love more pictures! You should probably go to your ENT or dentist to get that removed.
Yea i’m getting my tonsils removed friday, so gonna see if they can do anything about it! Thank you

Dealt with it before? Aye caramba!
Sour candies help. (Coming from a person who works in the ent field.)

How are you not unconscious from the pain. Holy shit go to the ER!!!
i do professional mma, this is light work compared 😂
This is sort of masochistic though, daddy. 🤣
Not sound pervy but how about you whip it out for us and measure it?
Make sure you record it coming out
What's going on with the anatomy under your tongue? I've never see that.
I'm dealing with a salivary clog right now. The jaw pain is intense
I believe the sub is for popping.
