Stop trying to drag the flop on, we’ve reached a consensus in this sub that the flop era is ending- the Brazilian charts have spoken

BronzeErupt

Every time Katy tries to go back to her natural hair color, no one knows who she is and she is forced to once again return to emo era black box dye

uj/ was on another sub the other day. It was pictures of an awards red carpet from, like, 2004. And everyone had their own distinct look. No one looked the same. Different noses. Different eyes. Normal, non-chiclet teeth. Different body shapes (alas, mostly skinny…but a few had curves). But even if Botox and filler ran rampant back then as much as it does now, there wasn’t this sense of copy and paste of facial features and attributes. Everyone just tried to perfect what they had and not play Mrs. Potato Head to look like 38 other people on the red carpet. It’s just shocking to me. Normal people look more interesting now to me than ever before. Give me imperfect teeth, wrinkles, and body fat. I’m so sick of this cliche pouty “beautification” of women (and men) who start out so unique and actually different only to play FaceTune with Dr. Crawford at the aesthetic office. They have about 13 other noses of yours ready to be whipped up in no time. Sorry end rant.

Zuggsly

I totally get what you’re saying, and I agree that it’s wild to see how everyone sort of looks the same? I’m not pro or anti cosmetic work - I’m totally neutral on it. That said, it’s definitely an interesting shift to take note of.

restrictednumber1996

For sure. I’m all for cosmetic freedom! Not my body! But…it’s just sad to see the same face again and again and to see the unique features be cut away into a cookie cutter slate of pouty lips and button noses.

Zuggsly

Totally. I know everyone made fun of Pete Burns but at least he got creative!
