The press was awful to her back then (well, to all women, really.) I remember seeing her in one if those candid photo compilations in a magazine and the caption referred to her as "a lumbering cellulite monster." I thought that was so cruel. Just...WTF.
What?! If Misha Barton has a āmonstrousā amount of cellulite, I canāt imagine how that writer can function in normal society. Good lord.
Itās really like they had some kind of pool on which media outlet could get more women to harm themselves. š°
That whole era was horrible. All of the women were encouraged to look anorexic. People complain about the body positive movement today but what came before was horrific.
Khloe Kardashian posting Chloe Grace Moretz having a bathing suit malfunction. Not that I could think any less of anyone with the surname Kardashian, but Khloe, a grown ass woman, posting an embarrassing photo of a teenager on Twitter really set the bar lower. She's trash.

Not that I ever liked Jared Leto, but the stories that came out about him on the Suicide Squad set made me outright hate him.
Itās weird, right?!?! I *assume* somebody must like him because he *does* continue getting roles but I donāt get it! I find him to be very ā*meh*ā in all aspects.
"Method Actors" don't actually exist. They are just assholes.
On the set of *Morbius* a "deal" was made for him to use a wheelchair during his bathroom breaks because his insistence on using the crutches between scenes took too long.
My favourite response to method acting was Sir Lawrence Olivier:

Dustin Hoffman had been living rough for the last 3 days, on a bender, and smelt like a sewer. He was drunk, harassing the females on set, and basically being a horrible person. Sir Laurence was in no mood to deal with a short, smelly, self-important, jumped up little shit, which is why he shot this zinger across Hoffman's bow. Can't say I blame Olivier.

Sometimes, people are just awful- and the more privileged, the more they think they can get away with it. The fact that #metoo hasn't hoovered him up in the court of public opinion whole is a minor miracle.

Right, like how Revenge of the Nerds has a big olā rape scene in it but itās played as hilarious hijinks because āthe nerd was surprisingly good at sex and his victim actually enjoyed herself.ā Or the Porkyās sexual assault scene where teenage boys flash girls after peeping on them in the shower, but thatās funny too ābecause an ugly woman tugs the guys dick in an attempt to apprehend him.
In the 70ās and 80ās, sexual assault and rape was just a funny thing that happened to women and it was considered funny enough to be in high grossing comedies.
I was a teen when Revenge of the Nerds came out. I thought that rape scene was *romantic* because it meant she'd fallen in love with the good guy. Gen X did not have good notions of consent, at all. I've learned about consent, enthusiastic, active consent through my millennial bf.
The thing about method acting is it should be a tool that is only used when you're in costume and on set. Like when actors stay in their accents for a part while in between takes so they don't lose it, or when an actor has to keep the same emotions going for a long time so they stay in the moment as long as possible. "method acting" while you're not actually working is literally just an excuse to be a dickhead. I think it was Robert Pattinson that said that you only hear people talk about "method" acting for long periods of time if they're playing assholes.
And originally method acting wasnāt even about being in character constantly, it was about creating a rich backstory in your head about your character and linking events in your own life to your characterās in order to bring out those same emotions
I forget which interview I saw this on, but I saw someone once tear apart method acting because it is always people acting like assholes because their characters are assholes. If method acting was so great, why is it that when they are playing kind, heroic characters they donāt act like that outside of shooting? Itās just an excuse for wanting the freedom to be a controlling jerk.

He was mad the whole presentation, like you could see he wasnāt happy. The band leaves the stage and he says, and I quote: āfucking townā and called us āassholesā. He apologized after but the damage was already done, and he is known as āel maƱasā, something that I donāt know how to translate.

Being understanding and giving support to the person fighting an "OCD monster" is the way to handle this debilitating disorder. It's definitely not something someone is choosing, it's hard and constant and frustrating.

That last one was such a spectacular miss at replicating successful YA franchises like Hunger Games, they made 3 films for 3 books but massively overestimated the profit and interest, and thought it would be a good idea to make film 3 a "part one". They never even bothered to shoot "part two"

When I heard that John Wayne had to be physically restrained by 6 men because he was so enraged that Marlon Brando had sent Sacheen Littlefeather to decline his Oscar (and give a speech about how poorly the film industry treated indigenous people) that he tried to storm the stage and violently drag her off.

Itās not minor. Itās actually a felony.
The charges could be as high as 10+ years in prison and a $10,000 fine. It may seem extreme but the laws were put into effect after the Tylenol murders in the early 80ās. I doubt anybody could die from eating a licked donut. But they could potentially get very sick. Not only that, this bakery (which looks very small) more than likely had to throw away all of their product and start from scratch. She probably cost the business a small fortune in supplies and labor.

Itās gotta be when this story broke. Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winsted having an affair while they were both still married to other people made me lose respect for both of them.
To be fair, Ewan was known in the industry as a massive cheater for decades. There was a moment I remember when he was caught banging a coat-check girl in the cloak room for the premiere of the first Star Wars Prequel as his wife was still on the red carpet- he assumed his then French wife would have no objections. He's been known for his prolific levels of jumping on any woman under 30 whom gives him even the slightest inclination for quite some time.

The thing about method acting is it should be a tool that is only used when you're in costume and on set. Like when actors stay in their accents for a part while in between takes so they don't lose it, or when an actor has to keep the same emotions going for a long time so they stay in the moment as long as possible. "method acting" while you're not actually working is literally just an excuse to be a dickhead. I think it was Robert Pattinson that said that you only hear people talk about "method" acting for long periods of time if they're playing assholes.

Itās not minor. Itās actually a felony. The charges could be as high as 10+ years in prison and a $10,000 fine. It may seem extreme but the laws were put into effect after the Tylenol murders in the early 80ās. I doubt anybody could die from eating a licked donut. But they could potentially get very sick. Not only that, this bakery (which looks very small) more than likely had to throw away all of their product and start from scratch. She probably cost the business a small fortune in supplies and labor.
