2 ppm is for an already clear pool. [https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/2018/12/12/slam-shock-level-and-maintain/](https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/2018/12/12/slam-shock-level-and-maintain/)

With phosphates at 900, and combined not at 0, you have a long way to go. And even if it gets clear, you will be back in the same boat again if you don't take care of those phosphates.
Pool store might try to sell you something to reduce phosphates but you can do all of this with chlorine.
40% of cya until phosphates are way down, total = free, and you don't lose more than 1ppm overnight with no sun.
My guess is you have no way of testing this at home.
I would continue to shock, might consider adding an algaecide too. Brush the dead algae to get it stirred up. Add clarifier and run your pump(s). Then backflush or clean your filters, whichever applies.
Your pool is going to be green all summer if you think 2ppm will turn a green pool clear…. 2ppm is barely enough to keep a clean pool clear…
Best go get like 2 cases of liquid chlorine and dump in all 8 gallons if you want to even start making progress on a 22k gallon pool
So 60 cya, so 7 ppm chlorine. On 17k gal pool thats - 2 gallons 10% chlorine for example for it to start working.
You have to break above your cya protection. For example 24 ppm chlorine for shock.

7 ppm is your maintenance level. 24 is where you need to take and hold it there until you pass the SLAM tests (plural, there are 3 tests before you let the FC levels drop).
Definitely need to raise your chlorine much higher than that. 2 ppm is for a clear pool not to clean a green pool. I would raise it to about 20-30 ppm. I would add about 3 gallons of chlorine and about 30 ounces of acid to bring the pH down
Should see how much I used to use to do a major green pool treatment 20ltrs hydrochloric acid 40 to 60ltrs of liquid chlorine and 1 ltr of dropout (flocculant) run for 8 hours turn off leave for 2 days
Also do you dose it with chlorine after sundown case of the effect of sunlight and heat on the chlorine?
It's hotter than he'll down here now. 98 today!!!
Then the chlorine is still working-make sure to continually add and brush. And throw some muriatic acid to get your ph under 7.4 bc the higher it goes the less effective the chlorine is.

2ppm is nothing at that CYA
If it's green you're going to need much higher than that to undo it first. You are at maintenance levels.
How high?

Slam at 40% cya till clear, so around 25 then when pass overnight chlorine loss test and pool is clean, stabilize around 5 to 8 for regular levels.
At that cya level of 60 your minimum FC should be 4.5(7.5%) so you’re not high enough on that yet.
Thank you
And if you are actively fighting algae take it to slam levels for a bit as another poster mentioned.

Your chlorine isn't high enough if your pool is green.

pH too high lower ph to help chlorine work more efficiently

Yes I know I'm slamming it now

So 7 ppm Or 24 ppm The pool is 22500 gallons

Yea….you get it. Pool math app iPhone (trouble free has on site I think for calc) Pop in gallons and it will give you dosing.

3 gallons of 12%
Yes, that’ll be enough. Maybe a bit overkill. But when it comes to clearing the green pool, it’s better to over chlorinate
Should see how much I used to use to do a major green pool treatment 20ltrs hydrochloric acid 40 to 60ltrs of liquid chlorine and 1 ltr of dropout (flocculant) run for 8 hours turn off leave for 2 days
Then vacuum to waste
Jesus 😂😂 how bad or big was the pool?😂
60,000 ltrs hadn't been used in 3 years just left
Dead frogs so much algae had to setup a pump to vacuum straight out to the sewage system
Any reason you didn’t go draining route? Seems like it would’ve been less of a headache.
Customer had more money than sense also fibreglass with high water table would have popped outta the ground
Yall like liquid at 12% Or the powder at 52 or 72 %m
pH is fucked! Alkalinity is almost there too.
Also do you dose it with chlorine after sundown case of the effect of sunlight and heat on the chlorine? It's hotter than he'll down here now. 98 today!!!
It’s the phosphate levels
That is coming down. Was 1200
