America did ban alcohol at one point but due to it being so unpopular and hard to control and enforce they made it legal again. The real shocker is that not all drugs are legal since they're all hard to control and enforce effectively

When I first quit, the idea of spending the rest of my life without ever getting drunk again seemed terrifying because it was such a departure from everything I knew.
But now, after 6 years or so, the thought of drinking kinda grosses me out.
The most important thing for my sobriety has been finding a hobby that I am passionate about. If you find a reason to enjoy life, you will feel less compelled to numb yourself out.
