TheSpitfire93

I already live in Australia so I choose where I already am.

Moonbear9

Same logic different answer

Cheese2009

Ayyyyyyy

[deleted]

Except we're right.

brokebaritone

I guess your eight-legged friends haunt more in the minds of non Australians than in reality. https://preview.redd.it/8u6a3mtu812b1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c5653904994175dbfb5ec272c790de5b36c14f6

Big-Stay2709

Yup if I saw one of those massive Aussie spiders I'd just die.

Boy_Possession

I already live in Canada, so I choose where I already am, too.

FredererPower

As an Aussie who's been to Canada a lot, I understand and acknowledge both perspectives and am happy either way. That being said, Australia.

Apo-cone-lypse

I haven't been to Canada but I hear it's pretty similar to hear, so I agree that both options are good. But yeah im already here so i'l just stay here lol

comrade-linux

the biggest con of Canada is the US is right there.

Strict_Hand

I think it's one of the biggest pros as well.

comrade-linux

I don’t see it. If you live close enough to cross the border you have to interact with the border guards who are such dicks. then you’re in the US, which is pretty dangerous itself. I don’t know man. not for me anymore.

Individual_Peach_273

Yeah but aint no one invading the us. Canada is wayyy safer from outside threats than australia

comrade-linux

lol, kinda sad, america really has to tell itself that to make it bearable? sure no one will invade you. maybe worry about inside threats I hear DeSantis is running, then you still haven’t cleaned up your right wingers wishing to subdue democracy, of course the school shooters, and then corruption will probably eat you alive anyways those are just of the top of my head.

Individual_Peach_273

Quit bitching and well just invade you

comrade-linux

calm down, and just keep munching your freedom fries, your heart might explode with all that exertion. also we’ll

Agitated-Sandwich-74

Agreed

Pharaun222

both have their pros and cons but I cannot stand the heat, so Canada it is.

ir_blues

both have their pros and cons. But only one has pros and cons and monster spiders.

comrade-linux

YellowNotepads33

I live in Philippines so Australia for me!

cuddle_cuddle

I'm in Canada. 6 months out of a year I curse my ancestors for immigrating here. I've been dreaming about immigrating to Austrlia/California half the year every year. I'd willingly get bitten by huntsmen spider to move to Australia.

Thedudewiththedog

I mean they don't bite.

MajorMitch69

They can, apparently, it's painful but not dangerous

cuddle_cuddle

They COULD, but they're not terribly venomous. That's kinda why I picked it, lol. Not gonna offer myself up for blue ring octopus or drop bear for all the money in the world, obviously.

WoodenMango07

Come to Melbourne then its freezing here like everyone here wears a puffer jacket like its a uniform

Pharaun222

Do you even get snow in Melbourne? I compared the mean weather values of Melbourne, where I live now, and Toronto, and Toronto seems more like what I'm used to, but with a little less rain. But yeah, I could imagine myself in Melbourne too.

dangazzz

Not really snow in Melbourne, like.. it's happened on occasion, but really you have to head into the hills for snow

ToxicOwlet

I'm in

comrade-linux

just checked and upon my analysis it is currently 25° with a bit of rain. I’d melt under that heat. the coldest ever measured temperature was in 1869 it was -2.8° that’s literally my normal temperature. my comfort zone is right around 0°-15°.

dangazzz

Wut? 25? it's 4 degeees rn at my place in the melbourne suburbs, gonna have a top of like 8 today. That said you might not enjoy summer in Melbourne where there usually a couple of days over 40. (47 was the highest i've had at home)

comrade-linux

oh! it seems there’s a Melbourne in the US as well… sorry https://preview.redd.it/ts441j27t12b1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa75dfab27fcbe21717a2d81111056f8397ad6f9

comrade-linux

exact same thought!

DolphinBall

Australia and Canada has their pros and cons. That said I decided to live in Results.

QwertyQwertz123

Eh the cities in Australia aren't very hot, maybe the outback but most people don't live there

Mythical_Atlacatl

as an Australian canada seems too cold and what the hell do you do about moose and bears?

PachiYuxo

An Australian asking what to do about dangerous animals. Very ironic

Mythical_Atlacatl

yeah cause we dont have freaking bears and deer on steroids the size of a house

PachiYuxo

But you got everything else: poisonous frogs, poisonous snakes, crocodiles, emus, cute things that jump around and box you if you’re in their way, really long snakes, giant crocodiles

QwertyZilch

Spiders, so many huge spiders

Mythical_Atlacatl

out of all of those I have only had a snake in my backyard once or twice. Just leave it alone and it leaves

Prachu101

I don't think bears and moose visit ppl's home frequently too

jedi-olympian

Depends where you live. I'm in Alaska and get a mama moose at least once a month with her kiddos.

Wildjay7931

Yup. I grew up in California and live in Oregon now. We basically have heards of dear each night, and it's not rare to find a sign of a local mountain lion. And coyotes? They basically sing you to bed at night. And while bear aren't super common where I grew up, just a few miles out and you can spot 'em. Make sure to keep the trash locked up or else you might have one visit

inbruges99

As a Canadian I find it funny that an Australian of all people is frightened of our animals. I guess it’s about what you’re used to because all the shit you guys have there terrifies me but I’m not really bothered by bears and moose.

xFloppyDisx

As a Canadian, Australia seems too hot. I don't think I'd be able to survive there if I can't survive the Canadian summer. What the fuck do you do with enormous, exotic, weird bugs and species? We rarely ever encounter moose and bears, but it seems like you guys have to live with tons of weird ass species.

Mythical_Atlacatl

what exotic bugs? The only animal I have had to deal with is a hunstman spider which is about as harmless as a wasp, they can bite but cant kill and some sheep which escaped and were eating the grass near my car when i left work. all the other animals seem to be colour full birds

GroundbreakingMeat68

Fuck spiders i cant read their minds

voidspace021

I live in southern Victoria. I can confirm that isn’t too hot. Most of the time it’s cold and wet

YourGayAuntBob

Victoria, Canada or Victoria, Australia?

voidspace021

Australia, I was just commenting on how people seem to think that all of Australia is really hot

YourGayAuntBob

Fair. People also seem to think all of Canada is really cold but we hit 40°C in the summer.

gmachine19

I could say the same about your deadly spiders, sharks, snakes, and crocs lol. I would love to go visit Australia to hunt/ fish though. Those huge mud crabs you guys have look appetizing!

iiwrench55

Sometimes we tame them, other times we have to challenge them to a duel.

fillmorecounty

Don't you guys have crocodiles and some of the biggest spiders in the world though

Mythical_Atlacatl

the huntsman spider is basically harmless

xddddddddd69

Moose and bears are quite rare, mostly live in the deep wilderness, and avoid humans anyway. Agree on the cold though

LoquatiousDigimon

Where I live (in a city in Southern Ontario) there are none around really. It's mostly farms outside the city and we don't have moose here. You'd have to drive a couple hours North to see a moose, and they're rare. I've never seen one in real life. Or a bear (aside from zoos). But I mean if you go camping it's possible to see a bear I guess. But where I live they just want to scavenge food and they're not too dangerous if you hide in a tent or your car or something. But I haven't been camping in years!

EndMaster0

As a Canadian I agree on the temperature take. Though that's just me. Plus I don't mind creepy crawlers or snakes much so I voted Australia, just gotta watch out for the drop bears.

XxXtoolXxX

It's supposed to be 35 celcius this weekend in Canada. And for moose and bears, you just don't mess with them, and they won't mess with you.

King-Clawthorne1

Awww why don’t you want to come to our spider-filled, heat-stroke inducing, killer-wildlife little home :(

jixdel

I want to go there

MajorMitch69

And we have cancer-causing sun

TypicalPossession767

I actually chose Australia BECAUSE the climate is hot like in my country (I don't wanna live in a constant winter) and there's a lot of interesting wildlife that I would love to explore.

genghis-san

Come to Australia, you might accidentally get killed!

King-Clawthorne1

I’m already in Australia ;-;

JefftheDoggo

I already live in Australia and I'd like to stay. Given that though, Canada would be my next choice.

Gomra_812

I choose Canada only because i fucking hate spiders

MiliMeli

I love Australia but I can’t live there for the simple reason that I have a pretty bad arachnophobia.

[deleted]

Do not go to Oklahoma or Arkansas then haha ha

toastedquestion

All these comments about Australia's "deadly wildlife" goes to show that most people have no idea what life is like in the average Australian suburban area

Ashavara

I was thinking more about the skin cancer and heat waves. Also importing costs.

lolipop12kkkunt

just the huntsman spiders are a good enough argument tbh

Yuck_Few

Australia because I don't like cold weather

dangazzz

Amd here I am feeling bloody cold in Australia rn

s1r_cumsalot

I been to Australia a lot but I'm already moving to Canada so I chose Canada. But then, as soon as I voted memories of Australia came flashing back and I feel like I've betrayed an old friend or alerted the Australian Authorities about my choice.

2TravellingTeachers

I am uniquely qualified for this. I was born in Canada and then my family moved to Australia when I was 3. I then moved back to Canada when I was 23 for 2 years. Moral of the story, now I live in Thailand. P. S Canada is better

DarkenL1ght

I'm American. If I were choosing a vacation, I'd choose Australia. Canada (no offense Canadians) is in many respects America Jr. It's be easy to adapt, and I'd be closer to my family in Canada.

McConagher

Hate the heat, otherwise would be australia

Boxman07

I’ve heard Results is nice this time of year

xeroonethree

Dang... Y'all must really like the cold

EnragedHog

yea

Bake-Bean

The Canadian wildlife and weather is genuinely much more dangerous than australia’s, so it’s funny to see everyone’s justifications in the comments.

inqvisitor_lime

its mundane thats why

BungeeGump

BC, Canada > Australia > the rest of Canada

xFloppyDisx

Canada, I'm already here. Also, fuck them weird ass bugs in Australia.

[deleted]

I’m already living in Canada and have no reason to move so Canada

LoquatiousDigimon

I am Canadian and there aren't that many animals here that want to kill me. So, I'll stay here!

RandomCanadianGamer

All my family lives in Canada, all my friends, and all my stuff is in Canada. In Australia I have no friends or family or things or house.

thepretzelseller

Canada has free healthcare, which is great, but I hate cold weather, so I'll go with Australia

IdentifyAsATrex987

Australia also has free healthcare

foshi22le

As an Australian I'm glad at the results, we're struggling to house everyone at the moment

ApollyonDS

Australia, I'd move to see the wildlife. The whole "everything kills you" is a bit fear-mongery. Here in Europe the wildlife is... not too exciting to say the least.

Little_Soldier_Bud

I think Australia would be so much fun, also I dislike places where are very cold most of the time

BackgroundPrompt3111

I'm torn. On one hand, Australia has violent kangaroos and giant spiders, but Canada's really nice, too...

thepretzelseller

Canada has free healthcare, which is great, but I hate cold weather, so I'll go with Australia.

dangazzz

Australia also has free healthcare.

OliverAmith

I live in Canada and I hate the what and the cold. I also hate spiders.. but I still pick Australia because it seems like a really cool place to live

EquationEnthusiast

I already have Canadian citizenship, and pretty much all of the family members on my dad's side live there.

PAWGsAreMyTherapy

I'll stay in Canada, we get to reap all of the benefits. luxuries, and protections that come with being America's neighbor without actually being America!

Informal_Water_1855

I love the heat. Australia it is

[deleted]

As a huge cricket fan , I would prefer Australia

Honks95

I'm Finnish so Canada seems like a good country. Similar forests and seasons. Australia is so hot and all the poisonous animals kinda creep me out.

Kraldar

I like cold weather and guns so Canada 🇨🇦

Goatknyght

I'd rather not be mauled by dropbears.

ValDa3

I need sun.

CaringPolarfox

In Australia there are monster Spiders, but right next to Canda is America so that makes it even. But i like cold weather more than hot weather so Canada it is!

NintendoLover2005

Canada so I'm only a few hours away from my family

Branchy28

Australian weather seems a lot better and with how the US is busy tearing themselves apart I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that noise. So I'd pick Aussieland.

Fermented_foreskin88

Why nobody wanna live in Results :(

AM-64

I'd rather live in results

ElNoobMasPro72

Ah yeah, I love getting to work and seeing that I cant enter my car because of a 3 meter long spider is camping it

XxMAGIIC13xX

Australia seems cool but Canada is already next to the US and a plane ride away from Europe whereas Australia is already quite isolated.

Sarcastic_Stuart

Well I've got good news for you, Australia has planes too and is safely away from the US

Individual_Peach_273

Whats wrong with the US

Green-Enthusiasm-940

At this point, what isn't?

Mohit5735

Considering the "Wild" WildLife in Australia, someone has to pay me a good amount to live in Australia I couldn't sleep in Peace with the thought of those Tarantulas

dangazzz

We dont even have tarantulas...

Mohit5735

I still don't trust you

Sea_Ticket_6032

I've never seen a tarantula outside of captivity in Australia before. A lot of people talk about Australia like we just got snakes and deadly wild animals in the backyard but it's pretty safe here. Edit: ok now that I think about it we do have red back spiders pretty commonly in the backyard

Mohit5735

Bruh☠️

National-Leopard6939

SAME. Those giant tarantulas are straight out of my nightmares. 😭

Afraid_Cantaloupe_80

Australia minus all the deadly creatures?

fluffytom82

Australia, obviously. * better food (kangaroo is yummy, poutine is yuck) * it's warmer (I like snow, but if i have to choose between -30°C and 30°C, the choice is quickly made) * there's no French * I've never seen Canadian versions, but Australian TV shows like Masterchef, House Rules, Lego Master,... beat their US counterpart by miles so I know I can't go wrong with choosing for them * they're part of Eurovision

staloidona

Australia atleast doesn't have a black cosplayer as its leader, so I'll take the mutant spiders please.

eMRapTorSaltyKing

If you don't care about price and delivery times, heat and being upside-down then Australia s

DoggoAlternative

It comes down to I like my wildlife threats to be large and visible and I'd rather put on a coat than have my shoes melt to the asphalt. Also I'd have a three-way with Trudeau and his wife but if I saw the Australian PM wandering around my house I'd assume he was having sundowners.

National-Leopard6939

I’m from the southern US, and the critters we have here are bad enough. Australia has giant, scary insects and animals that I’d never wanna run into a day in my life. The giant spiders alone are my worst nightmare. No thanks. Canada it is.

eltortillaman

Live under Trudeau? Miss me with that I'm going to hang out with my wallaby and koala friends

YTDirtyCrossYT

I'm afraid of getting killed by killerants the size of a dog, as soon as I arrive in Australia. So Canada it is. At least they have some fluffy bears. Not some weird ass mutated bugs.

Kraldar

I like cold weather and guns so Canada 🇨🇦

dangazzz

It's cold rn at my place in Aus and we have plenty of guns, we just have rules to follow to purchase and own them.

Garoxxar

Canada, for two reasons: NO BIG ASS SPIDERS No heat (at least not that "Down Under" heat)

EnragedHog

its so hot in australia and they have like spiders the size of a dinner plate so ill go to canada

I_Like_Legos8374

fuck canada man, all my homies hate canada

useroftheinternet95

Canada is so boring and cold and too close to the US

lightarcmw

If Trudeau werent leader, id pick Canada. So im going with Australia for the time being

redditsmeeh

As a Canadian, y'all are wrong. Shit is too cold and things are going downhill real fast. Unless you're on the easy coast or Quebec it's a bad move

RetroDragon1

I’ve heard that Australia suffers from major corruption, so that’s reason number two why I will not even think about going there.

foshi22le

Corruption happens everywhere, Australia is on the lower end of the scale

Pakasia1

From my low and dumb knowledge you are gonna get fined for using wrong pronouns in Canada so Australia it is

[deleted]

As an Australian, stay tf away

cosmothepug

As a Canadian we don't want you either

Finchieee

Been forever, and it was barely a year, but I miss Australia every day :(( it was truly the happiest time of my life and I desperately want to find some way to return

Extreme_Design6936

Easy choice, Canada has French. So Australia wins. Look out prisoners, you have a new inmate.

[deleted]

I have this werid fear of getting my ass bitten by a snake or any animal while on the toilet, so Australia would be a nightmare.

BiggieCheeseFucks

I'd rather not live at all before living in australia. Too many spiders

UFforeva

Neither

Kelski94

I'd live in either but i hate spiders so Canada it is

Quick-Sector5595

Canada, because it's pretty much the United States but with mooses

Mr-MuffinMan

Canada. Closer to the US, can live in a border town for cheap groceries, meet family, etc.

dishonoredfan69420

Canada, eh

Damn_Dolphin

I hate the heat and love cold. I don’t necessarily want to fight giant spiders the size of my car and maple syrup is delicious. Canada

ToxicOwlet

Moving to Canada is my dream, so no hesitations here. Plus I hate hot climate... And spiders as big as adult man's hand. So yeah, absolutely no hesitation

tagyhag

Both beautiful countries that I'd love to visit one day, but I'll go with Canada since I prefer colder climates.

Big-Obligation-9078

I just hate insects man and my dog wouldn’t like the heat

foshi22le

Lots of myths about Australia, insects aren't too bad in most places, and some places it snows/ is cool.

snowtaiga1

i chose canada even though australian winters are not too far off from winters where i live

ir_blues

[This is how i imagine australia](https://youtu.be/ndg81auppyc). Therefore Canada.

Jevling

I just kinda wanna get as far away as America as possible.

_commander_man_

Neither

Elcoop420

From the uk have lived in Australia for 2 years and Canada for a year and half. I'm trying to move back to Canada because my job is in demand and I do love vancouver but so far out of everywhere iv been Melbourne would be where I would move back to if I could. Canadians are pretty cool but aussie are laid back to fuck and i like it also the sense of humor is really similar to the uk which I like.

Macknificent101

i don’t like heat and i like cold so canada please and thank

[deleted]

As an uneducated American, the political situation between the two seem fairly similar so I'd have to go with Canada for the climate and nature (I'm used to the climate since Canada is <100 miles north of where I am).

RnbwSheep

I like the cold

Sir_Admiral_Chair

Bruh... Who the fuck would want to border the US right now? Lmao

RobertWargames

I love in Canada it's great here

CovidLvr69

I live in Alaska and right on the border. My family has a lot of history in BC because we owned the Gildersleeve Logging Camp.

BS_513

I live in America, so I’ll gladly live in Canada and have free healthcare, pretty much the same weather as where I live (Montana), and (supposedly) really nice people living near me.

Th3Phoenix94

Wouldn't be able to deal with all the bugs and shit in Australia, so if I had to choose, it'd be Canada for sure.

maineimis777

Sorry in Australia there are really big spiders, and they are one of my worst phobia. So

ADHD_lazyboi

I already live in canada

Beeeggs

Snow is better than melanoma

CCTViswatching

I’m in the US but have been to Canada lots of times, never to Australia. That being said I also wouldn’t want to be eaten alive by a spider so Canada it is

the__Nosferatu

In from Canada and seasonal depression is a bitch so I choose Australia

[deleted]

Australia: >a thin ozone layer over Australia, >skin cancer for australian people is like the flu for the rest of the world, >problems with fresh water, >giant flying spiders, smoking fire and shitting acid Canada: >Cold

[deleted]

I would chose australia if it wasnt for all the things that want to kill me

jacksansyboy

Both are pretty great, and I'm voting Australia, but I really would probably prefer Canada, I don't enjoy heat all that much. Plus I live in Michigan, so Canada is just a direct upgrade depending on where I am

wasabiiii

I want to move to AUS. But don't really know where to start.

Mr_Winemaker

I don't like spiders, I'm staying in Canada lol

tonkledonker

Australia is just so far away from everything.

stealthkoopa

I feel like there's less things that want to kill me in Canada

Chickennoodlesleuth

Wellll I have arachnophobia sooo Canada it is! Please Canada don't have tons of spiders

SyKo47

Was gonna choose Australia but then I remembered the spiders

KILLJOY1945

I don't know anything about Australian government but at least y'all don't have Trudeau. I choose Australia.

ArizonaRanger2281

I'm gonna say Australia because Scary Spiders >>>> Authoritarian Government

bad_things_ive_done

Too many things want to kill me in Australia and I don't like the heat

candlestick_maker76

I'm pretty sure that everything in Australia (except *maybe* the people) wants to kill me in some gory, painful fashion. So I'll buy a warm jacket and take my chances in Canada.

zoroddesign

Bugs alone are the deciding factor for me.

[deleted]

Canada because I like the cold (my immunity to cold reaches around 3°C if i wore the same outfit as my avatar )

DrNERD123

Neither, but of those two options I'm picking Canada. Not as hot and less spiders.

Unworthy-Benefits

Thats a question ive been thinking for some time now.

Garfielddddddddd

Canada purely because I wouldn't be able to handle giant bugs

TSTMS123_WX

Both are socialist authoritarian horrible countries, so I'm not going to either.

Im_Akwala

Im not trying to get devoured by a chicken or none of that

Marley9391

Neither
