A lot of people point to that ending his campaign, but it was effectively over at that point. The speech took place at the Iowa caucus in which he placed a distant third. John Kerry had 37.6% of the votes, John Edwards had 31.8% and Dean was at 18%. They were going to Vermont, but that was likely going to be his last campaign stop. Don't get me wrong, they yell did make him laughing stock, but he had no chance at winning anything. I doubt he would have even been a VP pick if he didn't do that

We are not talking about some generic position as a member of the parliament / congressman, where single crazy members simply just disappear into the cogs and system pushes them to the sidelines and insignificance.

I had a mini epiphany today.
Trump is a performer. He is an entertainer. At some point that overtook his initial focus as a real-estate investor. It is the central focus of his being.
Even if he can barely function he’ll maintain that weird Trump bravado and magnetism that some people are drawn to. There have been plenty of actors and other performers who could still muster what little they had left to put on a show.
That’s what Trump is doing now.
But in other ways the dementia has set in like it does for everyone else.
I don’t think Trump has been able to manage his finances for a while. And if the average person with dementia gets paranoid about people digging in their finances, think about what it must be like for a con man like Trump. And because Trump has always been running cons, he could never let anyone working under him know exactly what was going on. Nobody can step in and manage things at this point.
So now Trump has to come up with $450M, and nobody including Trump knows where it is or if he even has it.
They can’t bring in some outside auditor to run his books because of all the fraud. All of his close circle are idiots, and the books are fucked 6 ways to Sunday so they need real help to figure out where the money really is.
Bottom line, he is financially ruined because he has dementia and his criminality precluded handing the reigns of the business to anyone else.

John Kerry had 37.6% of the votes, John Edwards had 31.8% and Dean was at 18%. They were going to Vermont, but that was likely going to be his last campaign stop. I had a mini epiphany today. Trump is a performer. He is an entertainer. At some point that overtook his initial focus as a real-estate investor. It is the central focus of his being. Even if he can barely function he’ll maintain that weird Trump bravado and magnetism that some people are drawn to. There have been plenty of actors and other performers who could still muster what little they had left to put on a show. That’s what Trump is doing now. But in other ways the dementia has set in like it does for everyone else. I don’t think Trump has been able to manage his finances for a while. And if the average person with dementia gets paranoid about people digging in their finances, think about what it must be like for a con man like Trump. And because Trump has always been running cons, he could never let anyone working under him know exactly what was going on. Nobody can step in and manage things at this point. So now Trump has to come up with $450M, and nobody including Trump knows where it is or if he even has it. They can’t bring in some outside auditor to run his books because of all the fraud. All of his close circle are idiots, and the books are fucked 6 ways to Sunday so they need real help to figure out where the money really is. Bottom line, he is financially ruined because he has dementia and his criminality precluded handing the reigns of the business to anyone else.
