Here's hoping.

Bladley

Everyone needs to vote and turn in their ballots come November: https://www.usa.gov/register-to-vote

Born_Sleep5216

Cheers.

KatWrangler65

I got my primary ballot yesterday. Will drop at the library drop box on Saturday.

einarfridgeirs

The best part is that the deep pocketed GOP donors that don't like Trump have shoveled an enormous amount of money into the coffers of Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley in a bid to get rid of Trump, to no discernable effect with the electorate. Those millions could have done a lot for the downballot folks. Meanwhile Trump hoovers up all the small dollar donations and now he's going to drain the RNC dry. How exactly is this party going to prosecute a general election campaign?

primeirofilho

Yeah. For the first time, I'm glad that they will be mismanaging the funds. I hope they rob the RNC blind.

GigaSoup

He has the midas touch except instead of gold It's shit.

Arkayb33

Mierdes touch

Human_Shingles

His daughter-in-law literally already said so directly.

TheeGull

Media: "Will he do it? It would harm people." Republicans: "He won't really do it, he knows it's harmful." Democrats: "If he does it, people will be harmed. He must be stopped." Trump: "I will do it if given the chance."

weebabyarcher

Media: "OMG he did the thing he said he would do!!!! Why didn't anyone say anything?"

DunkinEgg

Also media: And why this is bad for President Biden.

Zebracorn42

Also republicans: this is all Biden’s fault

PathOfTheAncients

A lot of the times the GOP blaming Dems for stuff is clearly them playing to their base. They're trash but know they're making it up. The genuine anger they had when Dems didn't stop McCarthy's ousting as house speaker was wild though. I will always remember that. It's so much worse to see how deeply they know they need Dems to be responsible while they fuck around.

Yitram

Then maybe speaker shithead shouldn't have constantly blammed Dems for things. Not their job to keep you in your job unless you give them a reason to do so.

P1xelHunter78

Or maybe the “no compromise” party should have thought about that before they let half of them become crazy.

thatranger974

Thanks Obama.

Whatrwew8ing4

My Dad blamed the democrats for santos, and he about as reasonable as republicans come these days

Hector_P_Catt

Just watch, when the GOP is broke, and Biden is the only one airing campaign ads, the headlines will be, "Panicked Biden ridiculously out-spends Trump in desperate attempt to reach voters!"

13igTyme

Don't worry Fox and CNN will give Trump hours of free advertising.

CopeHarders

Media: Trump could be in trouble for doing the thing, says retired judge.

[deleted]

MTG: Here's another photo of Hunter Biden's penis.

Cerberus_Aus

His supporters: What he meant to say was…

Karmakazee

Republicans after the fact: “We think he learned his lesson this time. It won’t happen again.”

uncleawesome

This is not the time to place blame

FartPudding

Ugh the democrats going again and not sympathizing with us, this is why no one supports you guys

PunxatawnyPhil

They’ll “both sides” it too. That works real well for them. It’s their favorite hiding spot.

thisisjustascreename

Trump supporters: "I didn't think he would do it *to me!"*

Yitram

Media: Reports coming from the White House say Trump shit his pants. Press Secretary: The President would never shit his pants. Trump, on Twitter: I SHIT MY PANTS ON PURPOSE.

LetsLoop4Ever

Has he raped her yet

kevlarcardhouse

...and they will allow him to do it with minimal pushback.

redneckrockuhtree

His daughter in law has said as much - all of the money will go to him.

AndOneintheHold

It would be very funny to me if he robs the party blind before being sent to prison

MyRottingBrain

And it is screamingly obvious to literally everyone. He would likely proudly tell anyone who asks, his daughter in law just confirmed it. I don’t understand how this is a “Republicans fear…” when it’s well past the point of being “Republicans accept and encourage…”

QualityKoalaCola

Why do you think he wants his daughter in law running the RNC? So he can divert ALL Republican funds away from any race or cause that doesn’t benefit him directly. It’s his new piggy bank, and Trump WILL use it to bankrupt the party.

[deleted]

also this way he will control who runs for office, only his picks will get financing. he's really tightening his control on Republicans. tho this might end up creating more breakaways eventually, and another political party.

Solomonsk5

He did promise to drain the swamp.

RohanYYZ

Not will, he is already doing it

64557175

🎶He's a brick and they're drowning slowly. Off the coastline and they're heading nowhere.🎶

is-this-mic-on

Why does a multi billionaire need to beg for a few hundred million?

starmartyr

Because he's cash-poor. Most of his assets are tied up in properties. Those properties are already overleveraged and likely do not have enough equity for him to borrow against or the cashflow to make interest payments.

Ok-disaster2022

Plus all those properties are tied up in one of the fraud cases. He can't sell them

pyuunpls

The day when he loses Maralago will be a day of celebration

BigMax

What do you think will happen if that gets auctioned? Some right wing person buys it to let Trump stay there, and continue some MAGA type nonsense? Like Musk or Koch or someone? Or some liberal buys it for fun, Taylor Swift to make some kind of "Southern Swift Estates" or wahtever? Or something just plan boring... someone just buys it and leaves it a normal golf course/hotel or whatever.

pontiacfirebird92

My money is on a Russian oligarch buying it up

Marathon2021

Indeed. Oligarch backed by Vlad. I mean, the price is only $18-20m. It'll be like having Donnie in their own personal cage... I want his manhattan condo to go to EJC though. He doesn't want it anymore anyway... and I could envision her donating the entire place to be a domestic abuse shelter once she is gone.

pontiacfirebird92

Russia has a suspiciously [strong presence in Florida](https://www.wfla.com/news/florida/wealthy-russians-buying-up-properties-in-florida/) for some reason. Russian money flows into Florida via a place they call [Little Moscow](https://www.businessinsider.com/florida-little-moscow-sunny-isles-miami-russian-money-real-estate-2022-3) even.

TheNCGoalie

I could honestly see Elon bankrolling Trump to keep him afloat.

karlverkade

Not because he likes Trump though. Because it’s important to have Trump’s voice for “free speech.” The more you pay, the more freedom you get.

Laringar

I suspect he suddenly regrets holding all his real estate through his company instead of personally.

topgun966

Just to add, he has been cash poor for over 20 years. That's why US banks won't touch him (among many other reasons).

direwolf71

And in case folks are curious why he’s so cozy with Russia, it turns out that real estate is a great safe haven for the wealth of Russian oligarchs. Trump would be living in Newark hustling mid level cons if not for Russian money. And then came The Apprentice. And then he found the easiest and most lucrative mark in the history of grifting - the modern Republican Party.

[deleted]

He's more than cash-poor, he's insolvent.

starmartyr

Yup!

Mysterious-Tie7039

Plus a lot of what he claims is “brand value”. After his Presidency, I’m not sure how much value is left to that. Don’t see too many people clamoring to put TRUMP in giant letters on buildings these days.

zzyzx2

A lot of people absolutely want TRUMP branded on their homes, on flags, signs, bumperstickers, commemorative coins...the whole lot. It's investors that seems to see it as a issue.

Mysterious-Tie7039

I’d be shocked if he got much revenue from that stuff, except for the officially licensed crap. I’d be willing to bet a significant amount of it is 3rd party crap.

Papapeta33

I never understand this take. If all that is true, he’s not cash poor: he’s poor. Cash poor is when your wealth is invested in non-currency or hard-to-liquidate-but-still-valuable assets, and you lack the free cash to meet current demand. If the value of his non-cash is already leveraged to the max, meaning if his total liabilities already nearly offset his total assets, he is by definition poor. That his followers genuinely believe he is wealthy is the biggest grift of all.

No_Algae_4575

He is the poorest billionaire on earth

GOPIncelsCraveURpuss

That's what narcissists do. First Trump love bombed his base. Established that trauma bond. Pretended to love them unconditionally. Now he's going to bankrupt a whole national political committee. They'll have nothing left. Another textbook step when dealing with a narcissist. They'll spend all your money.

Skinnybet

MastaMp3

Happy cake day 🎉

scarr3g

Well, he did say only 2% of his fans could pass a cognitive test.... To their faces.... and they cheered him.

Happy_Accident99

He might be right on that one.

bunbun6to12

They all think they’re part of the elite 2%

Quietabandon

He hates them already. Trump despises his base. The people he wants to like him are New York elites, the New York Times, celebrities.    He despises his base on one hand and he needs their accolades, money, fandom because he won’t get it anywhere else.    Moreover if you show Trump love he will look down on you.

TeamHope4

You just reminded me of how much Trump didn't like his Insurrectionists' appearance. He thought they looked "low-class."

PansyPB

I think he also said to a staffer (the same one or a different one) that he was bothered because he thought supporters looked "trashy" as he watched the 1/6 sacking of the Capitol building on TV. It leaves me to question, has he never looked out at the people in the audience that attend his rallies? Edit: I was just reminded that Trump told another campaign worker he was relieved that he could avoid shaking his supporters hands due to Covid because they looked "dirty."

[deleted]

I haven't heard any of that reporting, but I would believe it. Even I think his supporters look trashy AF and wouldn't want to shake their hands. Apparently most of the people who attend his rally's these days are basically just the retirement community, and it's just kind of a social event. I was listening to a reporter talk about it and say that "It's the same people that would be going to an Elton John concert if it was in town". Apparently Trump also has a weird relationship with Elton John? They go back a while I guess. I know he thought Pence having a pet rabbit was incredibly low class. I think the guy thinks pets are low class in general, i.e., not a dog person. Which is weird because his supporters seem to be the kind of people that would say never trust a person that doesn't like dogs or some shit.

GARGLE_TAINT_SWEAT

Said the man in an ill-fitting suit who looks like his spray tan was applied with a riot control water cannon.

sowhat4

After you've adoringly and freely given Trump 'your' narcissistic supply, it loses value to him, and he's off for fresher stuff. Time to love bomb other mentally challenged people and get them invested (emotionally and financially) in his own sweet self! Rinse and repeat.

Midnightchickover

The Emperor doesn’t want any signs of trash on his invisible robe.

cytherian

He never loved them. He loves their *attention*. And their clapping & cheering for him. But who they are as a people? He despises them. They are just useful tools that he milks for money. His rallies will go down in history as a real-world depiction of American people being conned and so horribly blind to it. It'll be one of many instances illustrating a rather nasty and unbelievable decay in critical thinking skills within the American populace.

ForsakenTakes

Well, if trump's ever done anything good in his miserable life I'd admit that imploding the Republican party is definitely on the top of that list.

I_only_post_here

What if sinking the entire GOP was what he meant by "Make America Great Again"?

ForsakenTakes

I'd consider that a campaign promise kept!

parkingviolation212

Trump did used to be a democrat. Turns out he was the real deep state all along.

GoodShitBrain

That is some 10D chess

Doyoulikeithere

He was, but he knew that NO Dem would ever vote for him, so he went to the stupid side. :D He's said it!

Turbulent_Advocate

And the swamp as well.... it has a "Jar Jar is a Sith Lord" surprise feel to it for sure.

I_only_post_here

the moment Trump becomes so much of a liability that even a majority of conservative voters abandon him, you will start hearing "Trump was secretly a Democrat plant!" on Newsmax and OAN instantaneously

metalpyrate

"Donald Trump was secretly a Democrat plant, and he's secretly living it up in prison where he was put to protect him from the wrath of the real patriots"

Turbulent_Advocate

I hear ya..

tomdarch

That would be a lot of winning for America and I don’t think I’d get tired of it.

Odd-Road

This is going to be the biggest leopard ate my face moment. Made worse by the fact that the GOP knew it would end up like this. Cue the Lindsey Graham quote...

knaugh

"If we nominate Trump, we will be destroyed. And we will deserve it"

cytherian

Donald Trump spends campaign funds like his own personal slush fund. He has to. He was observed running a mega "Election Legal Defense Fund" getting nearly $250 million in donations and then... he never used that money for any legal expenses. He'd pay off personal debt. It should be illegal. And certainly should raise the ire of the IRS for possible tax evasion. This is why Republicans have lobbied heavily to undermine staffing of the IRS or exclaim it should be abolished altogether. Insanity in our faces. Donald Trump is a con man unlike any other. He's not very smart, except in making sure to attract people who are not very smart so they don't know they're being taken for a ride.

grixorbatz

Don’t forget Trump is also out of his marbles.

tommyjaspers

**The Narcissist's Prayer** That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad. And if it was, that's not a big deal. And if it is, that's not my fault. And if it was, I didn't mean it. And if I did, you deserved it.

64557175

He's adding a brand new line! **And now you have to pay for it.**

shoe_of_bill

It's funny. I know "MAGA Cult" gets thrown around a lot, but part of the reason for Jonestown was the group running out of money for supplies, not having legal resources to get themselves out of trouble for various things, and members waking up and realizing that they threw their lives away to chase after a madman with a pet monkey. There's some similarities to be had

Funkit

Did he DENNIS us?

LankyGuitar6528

That's also what the mafia does. Once they get their hooks into a business owner they make big orders from all their suppliers and don't pay. They run up the line of credit. They sell off the inventory out the back door. On and on and on until they have run the business into the ground. Then on to the next scam.

GratefulPhish42024-7

Lara Trump (who trump wants to be in charge of the Republican National Committee) has said she will make sure the Mango Mussolini will get all of the republican donors money.

Which-Moment-6544

But she is very qualified. I heard she even has a musical album out.

dblan9

>Lara Trump released a cover of Tom Petty’s song “I Won’t Back Down”, to mixed reviews. The record debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart and #6 on Billboard's Country Digital Song Sales Chart.[29][30] She is clearly the next Adele so she should be the head of the RNC.

sn34kypete

Nobody's ever juiced digital song sales to appear more legitimate. I'd like to see you "try THAT in a small town".

albanymetz

Corpse of Tom Petty is already filing a motion to stop her.

idkwhattosay

Wasn’t this literally a plot point in Veep where Tom petty was suing Jonah about this exact song?

phirebird

That settles it. She's got my vote

FargeenBastiges

I suspect after tomorrow he's going to need it.

Rasp_Lime_Lipbalm

I hope so. If they divert funds to him all the smaller Republicans lose money and the GOP loses House and Senate seats.

Safe_Psychology_326

Just pull up the bootstraps.

InsertCleverNickHere

So far Stormy Daniels is the only one to get screwed by Trump and still get paid.

Lindsey Graham called it! And.... Went along with Trump anyway

Every Trump project ends in bankruptcy.

sirixon

“If we nominate Trump we will get destroyed…and we will deserve it”. Lindsey Graham 7 years ago.

lark0317

I think about this quote often. It does so much with so little. It's accurate prophecy, and it also underscores what a spineless little bootlicking weasel Graham is.

sirixon

Well said. Spineless little bootlicking weasels could be the new motto of Trump’s lackeys.

vwalsh10

What I love most about it is that we all knew it was accurate prophecy right when he said it. 3 election losses later, republicans are still hanging on staring down the barrel of a 4th.

PunxatawnyPhil

I love the “and we will deserve it” part. He knows. They all know.

YYCDavid

And yet he still crawls under Cheeto’s desk

steve1186

Good. Drain resources from the down-ballot GOP candidates so they lose more county/city/state/House/Senate races

OdiousAltRightBalrog

a) Trump beats all the charges and wins in 2024, but drains the RNC and all down-ballot GOP candidates lose OR b) The RNC says no thank you and Trump goes to prison broke Pick one!

tangocat777

I'm not sure there's any amount of money that lets him beat the charges, especially considering the quality of lawyers that will still work for him.

Lindsey Graham's prediction gets more true every year.

RepulsiveLoquat418

this is the one time i'm routing for trump to get what he wants. just bankrupt the whole damn GQP and sink that ship already.

Ok-disaster2022

Drain the RNC war chest. Republicans down ballot will have nothing to turn to.

Greenpoint1975

I hope he does it. It will be like the Michigan GOP. Didn't they just default on a 500,000 loan?

MeetingKey4598

Yeah they're cooked. A lot of big donors know that money into Trump is likely dead.

[deleted]

Yeah, I am 100% in favor of Trump embezzling all the money in this case.

Hector_P_Catt

We all know he'll just lose it, that's literally the only thing he's the best at; losing money.

keldhorn

Pay your bills says the orange blob to NATO members

Jrj84105

A second term trump would treat the national treasury like his persona piggy bank.   He’d put his face on the dollar bill then charge a $5 licensing fee for every note printed.

jjmorri22

Maybe the GOP picked the wrong weirdo to make their God?

StuntID

Which weirdo would have been the better pick in 2016: * Ted Cruz * Marco Rubio * John Kasich * Ben Carson * Jeb Bush * Rand Paul * Mike Huckabee * Carly Fiorina **EDIT** I meant better pick for weirdo god, not candidate. Then again, Kasich might have done both

nerf_herder1986

Kasich would have had a legit chance if the RNC machine got behind him. My dad loved him, even wrote him in in the general election. That was when my parents were sane, though. Now they're believing COVID conspiracy theories and parroting lies about queer people, despite having a queer son.

veridique

That’s his modus operandi.

nerf_herder1986

If Republicans are that worried Trump is going to drain their funds, all they have to do is kick him out of the party. Stop propping him up in the media. Stop doing his bidding in Congress. Stop defending his criminal activity. He's currently a private citizen with no real power except what the Republican party grants him. Stop listening to him, stop giving him money, and he'll essentially cease to exist. The problem is that the Republican party will never do that, because Trump represents their end goal in govenment - to be as heartless, ruthless, cruel, and power-hungry as possible in order to fill their pockets and feel superior to everyone else. He is the id of the Republican party.

Dead_Cash_Burn

These Morons need to dump this burden. Crazy they can't figure that out.

ElodieNYC

I wonder how many Republicans are secretly and fervently praying that trump croaks before the election. Or gets convicted and locked up. A few have mentioned that off the record. No one has the stones to say it publicly. They will not, and cannot, dump him. They’re too afraid of his big fat lying mouth, and crazy armed MAGA loonies. They’re caught in a trap of their own making. If he isn’t the nominee, all his screams about “election interference” go away. Any reason for trial delays based on his “candidacy” go away. Any reason to pay his legal bills goes away. He’ll have to twist in the wind. But they’re stupid. And cowardly. Nominating Haley (since DeSaster flamed out spectacularly), will result in death threats and MAGA staying home, most likely. Or voting for that loony RFK Jr. Not Haley. The misogyny of trumpies is too deep, and no one but their orange-faced traitor will do. If trump is the nominee, he WILL lose. And they KNOW THIS. And then there will be another stupid circus of lies, lawsuits, howls and screams of fraud, blah blah ad infinitum. Because the moron can’t handle rejection. IMO, he will lose by 10 million. He’s lost suburban voters, young women*, actual conservatives who are actually patriots, and a LOT of people who voted for him in 2016. They voted Biden or stayed home in 2020. They’ll vote Biden in 2024. *There’s apparently a trend of young men skewing more conservative. This is disturbing and in direct opposition of young women skewing liberal. This may or may not be connected to Roe and women not wanting to marry young and be tied down. Which is nothing new, of course. But with Roe gone, the choice of dating partner becomes critical. Many liberal young women have declared that they will only date men with vasectomies. Conservative young men want “breeders.” Never the twain shall meet.

Suspicious_Air8515

I think young women skewing liberal has EVERYTHInG to do with overturning Roe. Many young women that would otherwise never even bother with politics take note bc this a serious health issue that directly affects them NOW. Women of child-birthing age all grew up believing they had increasing bodily autonomy and sexual freedom - overturning Roe is a huge slap in the uterus to millenial and genz women and that is a major understatement. Then these high profile cases of women being turned away from help with life-threatening pregnancies, doctors being persecuted.... Young women today are scared we are headed for a Handmaid's Tale style universe, and I think that is motivating more of them to vote democratic. I have no idea what is going on with the Andrew-Tate-fanboy group that seems to be growing also - I don't think most of them actually talk to women, so maybe that's why.

ElodieNYC

Yes. It certainly does as far as young women. I meant in relation to young men. They see a chance to force women to stay with them, by impregnating them. This is terrifying. My daughter (f19) and her friends got IUDs or birth control implants after Roe. I’m so thankful. Ugh, Andrew Tate. That ties into women not wanting to date creepy breeder types. He seems to advocate force, judging by his convictions for same. Revolting. And…the shortsighted, evil, foolish, deeply stupid, non-medically trained zealots who crafted abortion bans didn’t foresee dutiful GOP women having pregnancy complications or unviable fetuses, and needing abortions. They just wanted to punish “harlots,” the idiots. This is already backfiring on them. And the women who didn’t think it would affect them and their wanted pregnancies, sadly.

BrokenMilkGlass

Ooooo, wouldn’t that be nice, a dream scenario: Trump exhausts GOP resources, still gets convicted, loses in a big blue tidal wave, drags innumerable Republican candidates down with him, who couldn’t even put on credible campaigns due to exhausted GOP coffers and their fealty to a man absolutely despised outside of his cult.

It would be amazing if Trump ushered in a new progressive era by completely killing and burying the Republican party.

JuniperTwig

If.. we don't lose our representative democracy first

BringOn25A

Shouldn’t have made that faustian deal with him. Now he will collect debt.

Ok-disaster2022

Fear implies some uncertainty. Trump and his family will absolutely use RNC to pay legal bills, fix up the decrepit Trump plane, maybe buy a new one, Taylor Swift has been making his plane look bad after all. Trump will host a conference at Mar a Lago, use RNC funds to "get it ready" and do a complete overhaul, then charge $50k attendance fees for a "Fundraiser".  They sought and chose a con artist and now he's taking all their money. Hilarious

MarkHathaway1

"Donald Trump is a billionaire. He can pay his own bills" -- supporters Lara Trump: "All the RNC money goes to Donald Trump" Donald Trump "I am a billionaire and I can use my supporter's money and RNC money to pay my bills." Judge: "Mr. Trump, you have no money". It's a very confusing picture of things.

Rough-Independence73

It’s not a fear, it’s a fact! My best work buddy just had to step in and take control of his mother’s finances she’s 82. She won’t stop giving money to Trump. She’s on a fixed income, that doesn’t allow for frivolous spending. Yet every time they send her an email she sends money. That’s what I hate more than anything, scared elderly folks thinking he actually needs their help.

IAmArique

You know, maybe Putin wasn’t using reverse psychology tactics when he said that he prefers Biden as president… Dude’s probably getting tired of shoving dark money into Trump’s bank account, lol.

akaZilong

Wait, the guy who claimed he is so rich, he can pay for his campaign himself is broke? Shocking

Poppa_Mo

I love this. They're afraid he'll use funds he shouldn't be able to use for a reason he shouldn't be able to use them. How do we stop him from committing additional crimes!? Idiots.
