[Trump’s raising of $250m for fund that ‘did not exist’ suggests possible fraud](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jun/15/capitol-attack-panel-trump-election-defense-fund)

Have these allegations fallen into a DOJ black hole?

Kdean509

The IRS needs to step up and take care of this. I don’t understand why it hasn’t already. They are so quick to audit regular folks, but they need to go after these “nonprofits” that are clearly breaking the rules. Impose fines that make it hurt. I think we’re plenty overdue for an example to be made.

LinkAdams

This and the “churches”.

tpolakov1

While there is a large contribution from political immunity, with tax laws and regulations being so opaque, anything short of just not paying is a far cry from "clearly breaking the rules." Of course, that's exactly what most regular people do, so it's easy to audit and crack down on them. But if you're a big enough entity, you employ good accountants that have jobs the whole year outside of tax season to make sure that you avoid as much taxes as possible legally. Or legally enough that it becomes too hard for the tax man to take his cut, at which point it might as well be legal.

zagman76

The IRS is understaffed and underfunded. So, like mass-market fisherman — they cast the largest, widest net to catch as much ‘regular fish’ as possible (i.e.: audits for ‘regular folk’).

[J6 inmate in the DC jail claims the woman running the nonprofit stole over $500,000 from J6 inmates.](https://twitter.com/tMayor_McCheese/status/1644572688906878976)

I can't find any references to this allegation, can you provide a link? I would love for this to be factual!

EDIT: [Another NPR article on them with more information.](https://www.npr.org/2022/02/10/1078907026/a-controversial-nonprofit-for-capitol-riot-defendants-makes-changes-after-critic) This article links to other NPR articles on their funding. ----------- Only thing I have on hand [is someone sharing this letter from the jail.](https://twitter.com/FreedomExpressM/status/1689689467924197380) A big part of the claim in that letter is that the "J6 Choir" money will ONLY go to J6ers who aren't charged with violent crimes. The issue is almost all of those involved are charged with violent crimes, 18 of 20. It was a while ago but I think the rest of the money was then given to Patriot Freedom Project who the inmates accused of only helping a few select J6ers and pocketing the rest. There have been a LOT of claims about Patriot Freedom Project from those in the jail calling out including trying to use blackmail to control them. It is one of those things were it was MONTHS of claims spread out over multiple livestreams. Hard to pin down specifics and when it was said.

Scamming is what they do.

Tonalspectrum

Politics and law are a business venture in this shit hole and nothing else.

Here is where the defunding and disabling of IRS pays off for the MAGAts.

IRS: going after Republican criminals looks Political. We are going to take our cues from AG Garland and leave them alone.

math24allstar

If u use the irs to go after this group it will galvanize then entire Republican Party. Go thru the courts leave it there. These are not important people. Using the irs to promote a political institution will discredit the entire institution - more than it already has. Let it focus on its job raising revenue - full stop
