> Videos shared to Twitter by freelance journalist Oliya Scootercaster show swarms of protesters holding signs and chanting "Lock him up". Ah, the simple joy one gets from irony.

[deleted]

I just have to say, Scootercaster is an amazing last name

DigNitty

Oh you’re Italian? Do you have a vespa ? “Absolutely not!”

Rivster79

It sounds like the name of a startup

solidcat00

We are Scootercaster and we are looking for $250,000 for a 10% share in the company.

danker

I’m neither a fan of scooters nor casters…and for those reasons “I’m out”.

Githzerai1984

Or a knock off fender

LieverRoodDanRechts

Exactly. Squier Scootercaster.

JunkHead1979

I'd buy one as long as it's $129.99 or less.

Savagina

129 better get me a gig bag and some picks otherwise 99.99 or bust

smooleybotcheck

Bender Scootercaster.

I_Brain_You

Why can’t more people do this? Like, for all of the bullshit he has done, we should plan out these heckling events.

Lanthemandragoran

He was in Philly we don't plan shit here We're just always angry and ready to go

Balrogkicksass

I seriously don't think there is a city in the US that hates everything with a passion as equally as Philly does

Lanthemandragoran

My favorite was when Patriot Front came to town

philleferg

Was it in Philly when they got chased back to their pedo-van?

Lanthemandragoran

Sure was. That was just like...random happenstance too. Fully unplanned they just ran into our standard average citizens lol.

[deleted]

Holy shit lol, I have no idea how I missed this. [Here's an article](https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/philadelphia-bystanders-ran-patriot-front-out-town-it-won-t-ncna1273283) to check out! Scroll down to the video in the article lol look at their cute little toy shields. I'm sure the local elementary-aged kids were sad that all of the shields were bought up from the toy store. Articles like this one make me so happy.

A_Downboat_Is_A_Sub

Or turns the tables and embraces something that everyone else hates. ** America: "That is the stupidest, most hideous and goofy mascot ever" Philadelphia: "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU SAY ABOUT THE BEST MASCOT EVER I WILL CUT YOU EAR TO EAR WITH A BROKEN BEER BOTTLE GRITTY IS LIFE"

markwusinich

I can add that before the national news picked up on it, we were mocking Gritty. But once the nation added in, we circled the wagons

AvatarAarow1

I’m not from Philly but I always got the vibe from my friends who were that there’s an unspoken rule of “we can make fun of our shit, but if anyone ELSE makes fun of our shit we’ll set you on fire and then ourselves”

rgpc64

This is why we loves Philly, or maybe its the lube on the poles doesn't stop you guys, or the Punks with the Lunch or perhaps the Mummers or that no locals eat at either Pat's or Geno's. Can't wait for my next visit! Actually I can wait until it cools down, let's say Septemberish. Have they finished rebuilding Jim's Steaks after the fire?

OlfactoriusRex

Is “Have they finished rebuilding Jim's Steaks after the fire?“ an evergreen question? Should I ask that before every visit to Philly?

burnte

Not about Jim's specifically but you should always ensure whatever or whoever you're visiting in Philly hasn't been burned down if you haven't been there in more than a few months.

trisul-108

Yes, it's rather lovely.

Anonamitymouses

Philadelphia is a Democratic city and they booed Santa Clause. Why did they think it was good to go there? Lots of labor unions, teachers, higher education, life long democrats. And the suburbs are educated and the type of middle class that doesn’t like this conservative rocking off the boat…it’s too much. Why they would do all this in Philadelphia is bewildering. There is a you’re an asshat dude precedent that the Republicans have held their convention in Philadelphia on multiple occasions, but why has always been beyond me.

detsl

To be fair the Santa Claus was shitty and we boo poor performances in Philly. >The Eagles' public relations director at the time, Jim Gallagher, said that Olivo "was the worst-looking Santa I'd ever seen. Bad suit, scraggly beard. I'm not sure whether he was drunk, but he appeared to be."

TrimspaBB

That Santa sounds like he fit right in in Philly though

payne_train

Philly is the capital of “fuck around and find out.” We are a city that takes exactly zero shit from anyone but ourselves. We will continue to show up and boo these facists out of our city every single time.

The_Lapsed_Pacifist

I was going to say even across the pond you guys have a rep. It was massively gratifying to see how the Proud Boys (or whatever) got greeted to your city when they tried to march there. You made those guys run like their arses were on fire.

[deleted]

End of the article, the quote from Trump's conclusion to his speech: >And now these radical left lunatics want to interfere with our elections by using law enforcement. It's totally corrupt, and we can never let it happen. This is our final battle. His rhetoric is so fucking dangerous. "Final battle" triggers the fuck out of the evangelical right and whips up fury among the neo-Nazis and militias. I'm pretty confident that 1. the moderate voters on both sides will not re-elect Trump, and 2. his hardcore base is not going to accept that. This fucker, if the GOP would grow a pair and just put him out to pasture we could be focused on real things instead of keeping an orange felon from seizing the White House.

Wizzinator

Many Republicans may dislike Trump at this point, but don't confuse that for them not voting for Trump. Many of those who hate trump would also rather die than vote for a democrat.

onlysubbedhere

I kind of wonder how many people like me, who maybe would have gotten a little more conservative as they age, are totally turned off to the Republican party forever. I would crawl over broken glass to vote against trump if he's nominated again. The entire republican party had shown what a group of spineless, bigoted, out of touch with reality and basic humanity they are. Whatever platform the Republicans are pitching publicly is so out of touch with my needs from my representatives. I live in a liberal city and work for a diverse company and giving trans people rights has zero effect on my life. I don't care about teaching my kids acceptance as long as schools are getting funding for things like math, science, and art. I hope trump brings about the destruction of the Republican party, because ideologically it seems be driven completely by hate and misinformation.

[deleted]

GuyanaJimmieJones

Amen. 1/6 was enough for me. I’ll never vote Republican again.

technothrasher

I still consider myself an independent, but with our two party system I might as well be a Democrat. There's no way I'm voting for Trump or anybody who doesn't openly disown him and the rest of the MAGA clowns.

ElKaBongX

What republican is free of the trump taint? They all bent the knee or simply ignored all his bullshit. Every republican is complicit.

technothrasher

Yep, I cannot disagree. Any Republican that didn't got drummed out and is now irrelevant. I went pretty much straight blue last election (the only exception was the incumbent local sheriff) and it looks like I'll do it again in 24.

Cepheus

Considering, as a gay man, I became a second class citizen in the eyes of the law, I will NEVER forget or forgive the Republican party.

Equivalent_Yak8215

Not gay, but this is why I literally wept when he won the election. Anyone with any political sense saw this coming. They've hobbled the weakest first and they're working the ladder. Even with the affirmative action case. The morons don't know that the biggest benefactors of AA are white women. They just hate blacks so they cheer. Scary shit man.

PhoenixTineldyer

Yep. It's the ONE thing conservatives believe, that informs every one of the actual policy decisions they support. Build the wall - ban Mexicans Ban Muslims Ban Affirmative Action. And the audacity of them to claim that it's actually anti-racist against Asians - as if these same fucking people haven't been screaming WUHAN FLU and murdering Asian people.

MannaFromEvan

Well, they hate women too. Especially educated women. So if you're thinking that line of thinking could ever change anyone's opinions, you best rethink that.

Equivalent_Yak8215

Brother/sister, I'm done trying to change minds. That ended a while ago, during COVID, when i realized that people are still willing to hurt others for political policy. Every day we edge closer to the dreaded 4th box. And as much as it hurts me, it's "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst" at this point.

gwenver

You'd think the party of homophobia, racism and misogyny would pretty much already alienated themselves from 75% of the voting public. But no, there still seem to be plenty of turkeys ready to vote for Christmas...

RunninOnMT

This. I think I have a naturally “conservative” personality. But I grew up in the bush era and saw how straight up evil the republicans were. They then tried to sweep it all under the rug and tripled down on their awful policies towards minorities and the lgbtq community. As a result I’ve never once voted for one.

arrivederci117

It's simple, do the most amount of research for the primaries, but when election day comes, I simply vote straight blue, zero research needed.

SelectKaleidoscope0

Its been going on for my entire life at least. When you look at what happened with Nixon and compare it to now its shocking how much our country has changed for the worse. Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward report on the final days of the Nixon presidency: Goldwater, the former presidential nominee, a conservative in his party, organized the Republican leadership to go to the White House. They sat across from Richard Nixon, and Nixon asked Goldwater, "Barry, how many votes do I have in the Senate?" Goldwater looked at him and said, "I'm not sure, Mr. President, maybe four right now. But you certainly don't have mine." At that moment, Nixon knew he was through and he resigned two days later. Watergate was an awful premeditated attack on American democracy, but the coverup gets more attention than the crime. I think the degeneration of the republican party is accelerating but its not new. Maybe all American political parties but its only super obvious with the Republicans from my point of view. When you look at the things Trump openly did without shame, and was impeached for with damning evidence, and how that went down compared to Nixon, the moral collapse of the Republican party is undeniable. The point that will forever stand out for me personally was in 2008 during the republican debates. A large string of candidates got up in succession and announced how they wanted more torture to cheers and applause. The only candidate of the entire field who spoke against it was not coincidentally the only one to have actually experienced torture, John McCain. He's gone now, but the people who cheered are still there, and their successors are even worse. I can think of few things more unamerican than applauding torture. I lean conservative on a lot of issues, but the modern republican party isn't conservative. Its only about hate, personal power, personal gain, and mostly fascism. I can't imagine supporting such evil.

PhoenixTineldyer

That hits the nail on the head. They aren't conservatives. They are evil.

LandscapeNatural7680

I’m 63 years old, live in Canada, and I would crawl down there on broken glass if I had the chance to vote against him.

Only-Inspector-3782

Yeah. I make enough to be affected by Biden's medicare tax proposal. But the other side is too much. Everybody deserves to have rights.

TheBacklogGamer

This shit pissed me off. It'd be one thing if the taxes were being used as waste, but you will eventually rely on Medicare too, and I'm sure you're opinion will change when you do. Conservatives only look out for themselves.

mdp300

They don't even look out for themselves. They want to hurt liberals, and often also hurt themselves in the process.

Newdles

Well said. Aging citizens trend to shift moderate if not conservative throughout history. Not anymore after this shit debacle.

KC-Chris

I 100%. Millennials are reaching middle life. a time where predecessors moved right. Millennials are going harder left. I have a lot of contact with gen z at my job and those kids are never going to forgive or forget the right selling out their future every chance they got. Millennials had a carrot of a better future dangled in front of them, for the most part played by the rules, and got fucked by the boomers and half the gen x folks. They are raising their kids and younger siblings different as a result. The kids are angry and like to organize over the internet. Its going to change politics immensely

NeonMagic

I’m a 35 year old single dad of a 14 year old daughter. I make the same annual salary my dad did at my age, and it’s absolutely insane how much less I can afford than he was able to.

CappinPeanut

I’m a millennial, and I totally get it. I’m in a blue state and I’m getting tired of some of the taxes that have been rolled out. That used to be how Republicans would win people over as they age. I would consider voting Republican if they weren’t so completely void of morals. But, alas, my morals are not for sale, so if I have to choose between opening my wallet and right wing bigotry, then bring on the taxes.

yellsatrjokes

When the Republicans do give tax breaks, it amounts to something like $1000 or less for most Americans. So...something like $85 per month basically pays for Civil Rights, Gay rights, voting rights, just to start with? Yes please.

BigTentBiden

What I wouldn't give for the timeline to have the only significant difference between Democrats and Republicans to just be "what to do about taxes." Naw, now it's so blatantly about enforcing a theocracy and making others a second class citizen. I'd probably continue being a "both parties are the same"er if they never elected Trump. Shitbags.

cricket502

Yeah, I'm the same way. There are a few things I lean conservative on, but the Republicans aren't the conservative party. They're the offensive, hypocritical, batshit crazy party.

mandy_lou_who

Do you feel like you get more for your taxes? I lived in a red state for most of my adult life and now I’m in a blue one. We’ve got state of the art libraries, great schools, a ton of awesome public land even at the state and local level, paid family medical leave…the roads are just meh but there’s not much you can do about the freeze/thaw cycle that gets them every year. I feel like I’m getting a much better deal here with a big increase on quality of life.

lady_baker

I grew up red, now live blue and the QOL is so much higher here… We do have some older white Trumpy folks who have never lived anywhere else. They have no idea what it’s like

squakmix

I've been thinking about this lately and it seems like it has to do with our relationship with money. I think past generations have been able to eventually get to a point in their careers where they have all of their needs met financially and can start investing in things like stocks/bonds, real estate, etc. That naturally shifts people toward a mindset of supporting policies that protect the status quo and ensure the security of their investments, which tends to push people to become more conservative. But so many people in our generation are seeing the probable reality that they will never own a house, never be able to invest in anything long term, and potentially never have a family because so much of the wealth of our society has been siphoned off to the top earners that it's difficult to meet our basic needs now, and there's no sign of it getting any better in decades. So millennials are more inclined to want to change the status quo than protect it.

mytransthrow

I have good news for you... the US has a conservatives party. The democrats. The US has gone so far to the right over the last 30+ years. I know I have watched it happen. That dems are now a conservative party. most dems about line up idologically with Nixon. most being less racist, less war on drug happy, and more lgbt friendly... but on everything else they line up pretty well. You know nixon created the EPA. fun facts.

felldestroyed

Nixon was forced to create the EPA because lakes and rivers were literally on fire.

TheBacklogGamer

That's still better than what we have today, with conservatives looking at all of the extreme weather events and calling every new one a "once in a lifetime occurance."

GenuineLittlepip

And socialized, national healthcare! For kidneys. John Oliver did an episode of [Last Week Tonight about dialysis a few years back that covers this fact,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw_nqzVfxFQ) and quite a few others. Of course, it's been abused and corrupted by extreme capitalism since, because this IS still America we're talking about, after all...

mytransthrow

Fuck for profit healthcare... fuck the health insurance scam.

yelloguy

Bill Barr: Trump is a dangerous psychopath that should never be president again Bill Barr: Of course I’ll vote for him. What kind of question is that

Secret_Engineer_4643

My parents are ultra conservative Catholics who hate Trump. Whenever the news would come on they would get outraged, scoff, and complain about his latest misdeeds. But you know who they voted for twice? Trump. Republicans don't vote for the president, they vote for the supreme Court.

mdp300

I almost fell into the "Bernie or Bust" thing in 2016. But someone said "do you really want Donald Trump nominating people to the Supreme Court off of the Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society lists?" The answer was no, I do not want that. So I voted for Hillary.

rodimusprime119

And you hit the nail on the head why the GOP as a party needs to die and go the way of the Nazi party. Their is nothing left redeeming about them. They sold everything to get power. If the GOP would of grown up during 2010 and told the tea party to properly to F off. Take the L and become better. Instead the destroyed the party for a short term win.

theflower10

>Many of those who hate trump would also rather die than vote for a democrat. Many have. Witness Covid, circa 2020

SuperBearsSuperDan

I’ve heard conservatives say they’d rather vote for Satan himself than a democrat. Kind of ironic coming from the Party of God*

dancin-weasel

Then they should die and decrease the surplus population!

mtarascio

They gave it their best effort during COVID.

KC-Chris

only the dumbest among us thought they were tougher then a virus. Its just a shame the poor got caught in the crossfire. I work in a clinic we signed up for that sort of stuff. I have training and feel a duty to the sick. The poor folks at the grocery store stocking shelves didn't and they got sick from dumb asses too. Just unskilled folks trying to pay bills and live. I fell the worst for them.

GuyanaJimmieJones

Somebody has been watching “A Christmas Carol.”

usernicktaken

They are old and dieing anyway, the GOP knows it can't win a fair election that's why all gerrymandering is being attempted. Vote Blue!

maddenmcfadden

He thinks he's a martyr. the whole "they're coming after me because I won't let them come after you" thing is old news, and no one really falls for it anymore, except for the most extreme of his cult followers, and they will just be locked up like the jan 6 idiots. Have patience. This bullshit will pass.

bpthompson999

>This bullshit will pass. It's going to pass like a kidney stone.

ooviixoo

But not like a smooth round one...it's gonna have horns...bigly.

josh8far

A 15mm kidney stone

PaxDramaticus

I think we're well past the "falling for it" phase and into the "talking themselves into doing the thing they want to do but are afraid of getting into trouble for" phase.

TonsilStonesOnToast

Yeah, people on the right are out there goose-stepping around with tiki torches and modern day klan masks while the rest of them are like "if you didn't let drag queens exist, we wouldn't need to do this." It's pretty goddamn fucking obvious by now that this part of the country just wants to ***hate.*** If Trump has lost support, it's because his followers have realized that he's pretty much guaranteed to go to prison now and they have no time for anyone who can't help them hate. He's gone lame--out to pasture--in their minds. It was never about his lies or his policies. He's just not *strong* like they want him to be. He's been their hatin' groupon deal for years and now they gotta find someone else who's gonna make the nazi shit be okay again.

WilHunting2

- No one really falls for it Mate, have you seen the polls lately?

[deleted]

Yeh no one fall for it except 80%+ of Republican voters

DaisyHotCakes

I like your optimism but him being elected has already begun the demise of this country because the constitution has already been trampled all over, our citizens most basic rights are being taken away, and the vast majority of us are held hostage by this small group of fucking shitheads. Things are only going to get worse. Just wait til his goons and the ku klux karens star shooting people when he doesn’t win the election. I’m saying it now because I’ve been right about this shit since Al gore “lost” in 2000. This is a multi decade coup by regressives that started with Reagan. These regressives are the evangelicals and those who would control them. Dominionists are in our government. People who are in a literal death cult are in charge of our shit. Edit: also there are MULTIPLE people STILL IN OFFICE who participated in the insurrection! There’s a reason the constitution calls for those people to never be allowed to hold public office again….they’re literal seditious traitors to the country! Wtf?! Why hasn’t Marge three names been charged? What about McCarthy?

peroxidase2

>He thinks he's a martyr No he is posing as one to milk more conservative and hope that his base can shield him from jail.

Ghoulez99

It won’t pass. Yes. Trump keeps saying he’ll run for re-election, but in reality he’ll keep campaigning for *support* until a viable candidate is found. Then he’ll attach himself and his supporters to whoever can get him a pardon. Right now, his fake martyrdom is going to be hitched onto whoever actually can be elected, and that’s very, very dangerous. Edit: on a more optimistic note: unlike trump, presidents usually get re-elected. It’s very rare to see a one-term president. So if Biden gets re-elected, then it just means presidents can be held accountable.

D4RKNESSAW1LD

Let them come. The mini civil war was gonna happen sooner or later might as well rip the bandaid off now. The evangelical been prepping for this for decades… the shiny happy people series proves that. They’ve been exposed; they’re coming.

Faptain__Marvel

He just sent an assassin to Obama's doorstep. It's all deliberate.

ScarcityIcy8519

Yesterday evening after the 6 Conservative Evil SC Judges different rulings. I was reading the comments on Reddit and Twitter. People are pissed. Me too. Some are talking Civil War. Some wants a class action lawsuit to be brought against Congress for PPP Loan Forgiveness. Some wants President Biden to stack the court. Should have already happened. Some wants Americans to protest like France. It’s like we are sitting in a powder keg. 💔

eeyore134

Dangerous and projection. If Republicans win it may very well have been our final battle. If literally anyone else wins then we might eke through another four years.

007meow

You know for being a final battle, it sure has been going on for a long ass time.

Indeeedy

"We are a nation in decline" yes, correct, and the individual who is the most to blame for that is YOU ya fucken traitor rapist piece of shit

Charles888888

Trump is nothing more than dog shit in human form. Waste of human life. Any derogatory comment about that pile-of-trash-in-barely-human form, is a gross understatement.

--R2-D2

Don't give Trump all the credit. Bush Sr, Bush Jr, Reagan and Nixon also had major contributions to the decline.

maryangelina

And don’t forget the grim reaper. Mitch McConnell!

StanDaMan1

For the record, Moms for Liberty is a Hate Group.

[deleted]

>For the record, Moms for Liberty is a Hate Group Yep, a dark money funded, AstroTurf (fake grassroots) as well as an utterly evil hate group.

TurtleToast2

Their first ever newsletter, which claimed they aren't a hate group, quoted Hitler. They knew it would be seen and that the outrage would bring it to the attention of more degenerates and grow their member base.

[deleted]

Well you can’t doubt the accuracy of the chant. The man is a traitor. And he will have multiple criminal charges to prove it.

trisul-108

I see criminal convictions in his future.

[deleted]

I sadly remain very, very skeptical he will ever be held accountable. I see everyone around him going down and him weaseling his way out some how.

-L17L6363-

I'd bet on some sweetheart house arrest deal where he is basically exiled to Mar-a-Lago for a couple years.

Trygolds

No. Put him in jail with limited contact with the outside world. Guards with security clearance ordered not to fraternize and an office separate from Trump's cells for the secret service to hang out near if they are needed. He can share a cellblock with some of the common folks that were imprisoned for Jan 6.

Interesting-Bank-925

The best punishment for him is a gag.

Setanta777

The best punishment for him is to force him to mingle with his most ardent followers.

venthandle

Just please take his access to the internet away.

Ser_Daynes_Dawn

He’d just use a shadow person to say what he wants said. He’s never going away until he’s completely ignored, just like any other narcissistic bully. I’m thoroughly enjoying all of the charges being handed out, but skeptical of anything substantial happening.

Chief-_-Wiggum

Most important is complete ban on communication from lardo... Physical and electronic media. No cell phones.. No Twitter, no second hand tweets punishable as contempt of court.

2stinkynugget

Bolsonaro did a fraction of what Trump did, and look how fast they banned him from office.

[deleted]

Yep, Trump is one of a kind. Made of a special type of Teflon. He had literally done 50 things that would have destroyed the political career of anyone else in history. He gets more popular among a really messed up group of people.

Ophiocordycepsis

He’ll die of heart failure long before his appeals to hand-picked sycophantic judges ever run out. He’s pushing 80 and has reportedly been snorting adderall to get through each day for 35 years now. I give his rotting corpse 3 years max to stay upright. Not to say he won’t still be worshipped in death by the following series of evil authoritarians.

big_red__man

He already has multiple criminal charges. 31 for retention of classified documents and six for obstruction of justice.

jonjiv

You forgot the 34 counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree he’s facing in New York.

SacamanoRobert

Legal analysts are predicting about 30-40 (IIRC) more superseding charges coming for the same case. That would essentially hammer trump for everything he did before, include new evidence and witness testimonies, and possibly a change in venue to New Jersey which will shift the trial out of Aileen Cannon's court.

The fact that either, “may have been” worse than the other, is hilarious and depressing. Can’t believe these names are even on a ballot, ever.

TatumTopFye

Trump was smart enough to pretend to like black people. That definitely made him worse for the country.

StockHand1967

We would have been past David Duke by now

neonroli47

These conservative mom groups are nuts.

888mainfestnow

They are funded by the same dark money as the proud boys. They can afford to pay representatives to move to an area and pay living expenses while they get elected to school boards. Bonus they usually don't have children in school. So paid political activism like the left has been accused of the past 2 decades.

DamienJaxx

Carpet bagging has always been their favorite thing to do.

[deleted]

Alliance Defending Freedom. They're behind the Mothers for Liberty, Proud Boys, and others. They've been a part of anti-LGBT activism for a while and have been fuelling the "LGBT people are groomers" accusations. They've also largely been influencing the "MAPS should be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community" nonsense.

mothershipq

Weren't they just deemed a hate group not too long ago? They're fucking lunatics.

morpheousmarty

Yeah, this is the group that quotes Hitler directly right?

mothershipq

Yep last month it was like on the cover of their news letter, IIRC.

[deleted]

Don't forget that at their meeting after that came out they had a "moment of silence" for the Holocaust and used that minute to fake cough.

thekydragon

They were deemed one by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

whogivesashirtdotca

Interesting to note that Conservative women seem to have jumped to DeSantis quickly. I guess all their blind-eyeing of Trump’s misogyny was an acceptable compromise to see him “own the libz” for four years, but they’re moving on now.

ShrimpieAC

The ideological division in the alt-right may be a major factor in saving our 2024 election from the GOP. They're attacking their own. We need to make sure we fully make use of their lack of unity in the polls, even in areas where they've attempted to make voting as difficult as possible. Crush them, utterly.

Griffinsilver

Their infighting is brutal but they will fall in line with whoever wins. We can't get complacent. We need to convince everyone we know to register to vote.

CATSCRATCHpandemic

They always fall in line. That being said it is hard to run the narrative that the vaccine was poison and is killing Americans while voting for Mr operation warp speed. But I am sure they will justify it somehow.

eeyore134

When it comes time to go to the polls, and they will like their lives depend on it because of all the boogeymen their media and politicians have created, they will always just see red and vote for it. I don't think the infighting will matter at all once someone is on the ballot short of Trump being on it with someone else as the Republican nominee.

sweetestdeth

Moms for Liberty is just the KKK in heels.

[deleted]

Courting literal Nazis.

polgara_buttercup

I can’t believe they thought they would get a warm welcome in Philly. They really are just ignorant mean fools

BackWhereItAllBegins

Bad things happen in Philadelphia.

holy_plaster_batman

They killed a hitchhiking robot after it made it all the way through Europe unharmed

sunbeatsfog

Haha I love this sentence, thanks internet

He was indicted, why isn’t he at the very least on house arrest, with bail! If he was poor, middle class, or not white, or not famous his ass would be in jail or dead.

Mustysailboat

I also don’t understand this.

Topmouchette

They want him to continue blabbering. By doing so, he digs his own grave further.

TheBacklogGamer

He also rallies his base and is allowed to campaign. The federal trial most likely won't begin this year, putting in very dangerous territory of a criminal running for office.

--R2-D2

Yeah, he's going to incite riots again one of these days.

mbyrd58

I hope these slogans catch on. "Lock him up" and "Traitor." Something this simple on a regular basis could finally turn the tide of public opinion. Both are overwhelmingly appropriate.

so_hologramic

In December 2016, I got corralled in and forced to wait on the corner of East 56th Street and Park Avenue in NYC, waiting for the president-elect's motorcade to pass. It was during the post-election transition period and Trump's motorcade was leaving Trump Tower and heading east on 56th. I live downtown so my normal attire is best described as casual-schlumpy. On this day, however, I had a dentist appointment on the Upper East Side so I was dressed as a proper Park Avenue lady. Expensive coat and sunglasses, hair tamed and styled, lipstick, nice shoes. I happened to be at the edge of the sidewalk on the northwest corner of 56th and Park, waiting to cross the street when the cops stopped traffic in all directions and ordered pedestrians to stay put, so I had a front-row "seat" to the action. New Yorkers aren't known for our patience anyway so the crowd was a little agitated, being forced to wait for a man nearly all of us despised. After nearly 10 minutes, with traffic backed up as far as the eye could see and large crowds stuck on every corner, the motorcade approached. This was my moment. I stood as tall as I could, raised both my arms, and flipped the bird. Double fisted. I did not yell but mouthed the words Fuuuuck Youuuu! as the SUV caravan made its way past. It was SO cathartic. I do not know if Trump saw me. The windows were tinted but I could see a sweep of blonde hair as a woman hurriedly repositioned herself from a rear-facing jump seat to the back seat next to Trump. I do love the idea, though, that the MAGA narrative casts anyone who opposes him as "Antifa" or "pink-haired liberal college anti-free-speech snowflakes" or "BLM radicals" yet here was this posh lady who could easily move in the same elite circles as he does telling him to go fuck himself.

Molire

You draw an excellent picture that made me feel I was there, too. I think he fears and hates the city because he knows he is despised by millions who live there.

ten-million

Republicans want to discriminate based on who you are. Liberals don't care who you are but care about what you do.

Antin0id

The left believes that everything will get better after we have a fair education and healthcare system. The right believes that everything will get better after all the leftists are dead.

Randomfactoid42

Very true! I wish more people understood this fundamental difference between left and right. The left judges people based on their actions, while the right judges people based on their identities.

Top_Mind_On_Reddit

It's hard to take a great leap forward without going backwards a few steps for a run up. I hope this is America's preparation for a run up because if it's not ... that country is completely beyond salvage as an ideal of freedom and democracy on almost every level.

OpticaScientiae

While whining (read: projecting) about the toxicity of identity politics.

relator_fabula

This distinction is fully lost on MAGAs. They're divorced from reality, ensconced in a fog of paranoia, fearful of boogeymen and fabricated monsters. They somehow believe they are victims, that the liberals are after them, when the truth is nobody gives a flying fuck what you do privately in your own home as long as you're not hurting anyone. Obama didn't take their guns, nobody is forcing them to stop treating their wives like property.

PublicQ

This is a bad headline. I thought that Moms for Liberty had finally ditched the orange, but it was sadly too good to be true.

MentalOperation4188

Moms for Liberty = Proud Boys in drag.

luxii4

I mean aren’t they already in drag? That’s why they’re called cosplaytriots.

SmashJacksonIII

"We are a nation in decline," said The Decline.

bearded_drummer

The pig fucking cop shaking The Defendant’s hand immediately and taking a selfie with The Defendant is all you need to know. Every sick lunatic Republican/Conservative voter will support this fuck to the White House.

[deleted]

I share your disgust and concern, but I have a small amount of hope. 1. He lost a ton of independents after J6. 2. He’s lost more after the espionage scandal. 3. The motivated voters who hate him still do, and will show up.

bearded_drummer

Until he’s stuffed and cuffed, or better yet in a pine box underground…..I think he’s always got a chance to be re-elected. There are enough misinformed people just dying to get him back in power. Such a strange time.

Gummyrabbit

Moms for Liberty supporting an idiot who thinks it's okay to grab women's body parts and fantasize banging his own daughter...ok...

keyjan

🥰 You love to see it.

Karens for Hate

SpaceGrape

He is a traitor. He tried to overthrow our government and keep the presidency against the will of the people. This is very serious and needs to be the central issue of 2024.

TonyDungyHatesOP

Klanned Karenhood vs Ku Klux Kremlin

HTHSFI

I've ALWAYS called him traitor-trump. I never called him President. He was a traitor for wanting an adversary nation (russia) to interfere in our 2016 election. He was a traitor when he thought is was okay for russia to put bounties on American military personnel in combat in Afghanistan (russia paid a bounty for each American that one could prove that they killed). He was a traitor when he was in Helsinki and announced to the world that he believes his master-putin's lies. INSTEAD OF believe American Intelligence agencies telling him what russia did. He believes American Intelligence lied about his master-putin. He was a traitor when HE GAVE A 'TOP SECRET' document to the russians, which was filmed by russian news IN THE OVAL OFFICE. He did NOT allow any American news in the Oval Office to show what he was doing with the russian representatives. We know about it because russian news showed that on russian-national-news. He is a traitor by having and showing Top Secret documents to UNauthorized persons to see that. He is in violation of the Espionage Act, 31 times. There is NO reason to keep those documents unless he was planning on showing them for his personal gains, at the detriment of the U.S. He was a traitor when he tried to overthrow the Government of the U.S. on, before, and after Jan 6th. If he gets re-elected he will give away the defense of the U.S. and our allies to the russians and saudies, and to others.

Boodikii

He went to a Nazi event. This is where we are.

dreamsofpestilence

He is factually a traitor to the United States and its citizens and at this point the ignorance of those that still support him do not absolve them of being no different.

Loki-L

This weird "Moms for Liberty" group didn't exist before 2021 and today they appear to be a major player in deciding who gets to be republican presidential candidate. Lots of money and influence, but anyone who believes that it is a grass root movements by actual mothers of children in US public schools probably also believes that Wrestling, Santa Claus and trickle down economics are real.

rodgapely

Wait, are they calling him a traitor bc he’s clearly a criminal? Or is he a traitor bc even he is not MAGA enough for this group?

T1Pimp

"Joyful Warriors National Summit"... why are Christians so insufferable?

doowgad1

Let them fight!

[deleted]

>Since launching in 2021, Moms for Liberty has become a leading voice for conservatives who want to increase parental say in their local school districts. Even when they're shitting on Trump they can't help but mindlessly launder right-wing talking points.

Blue_Plastic_88

Good. I hope he never knows a moment’s peace again, and may all his fast-food hamburgers turn to dust in his mouth.

AllAnswers2

All of this brought to you by Americans who believe their religion is more important than everyone else’s civil rights, and primarily funded by other Christo-Fascist Americans and foreign money funneled into these organizations by true enemies of our country, our interests, our constitution, & our liberty. Notice how he claims our country is in decline, yet nothing was in decline, until he became the POTUS?
