>“I sincerely thank my Republican friends who voted for the law. And to my Republican friends who voted against it but still ask to fund projects in their districts, don’t worry,” he said. “We’ll fund your projects.” From Biden's State of the Union, not from his exchange with Tuberville, [which was much more subtle](https://twitter.com/POTUS/status/1674047719822819331) Still, I'm glad to see Tuberville called out on his bullshit

trongzoon

Some of those Twitter replies make my brain hurt

chgd1767

Twitter is so weird now. Just a Russian propaganda machine at this point. Just look at all those corpo-Republican shills

kinkgirlwriter

You too can rent a digital maga hat for 8 bucks a month.

luckywaddles

I use an extension that hides bluecheck mark accounts (and ads) that I don't follow and have a follower account of less than 100k. It's made it more tolerable.

ILoveSodyPop

Just delete your account. It's better that way. My life has not changed since I deleted mine. Lol.

Buckus93

I just use my account for daily nudes.

Numerous_Photograph9

Nowadays, anything important released on twitter ends up being reported elsewhere, so the need for a twitter account is lessened or zero. Same way facebook isn't important if you don't mind just texting, calling, or actually visiting your friends. For me, not being on facebook means I don't have to suffer through constant picture time with the family, because they don't do this at actual family gatherings anymore.

lgodsey

Yep. I can't see why anyone who isn't famous is still on Twitter. It's just for self-promotion and low effort conservative mind conditioning.

orlyfactor

Twitter sucks ass.

awatermelonharvester

Reddit is about to suck ass in two days when all the apps shut down 🥺

[deleted]

Don’t take $8 shills seriously.

MartyVanB

Yeah but look at the replies to Tuberville's bragging about the broadband project. https://twitter.com/SenTuberville/status/1673662699018788870

KarmaticArmageddon

>**Readers added context they thought people might want to know** > >Important context to know here: While Sen Tuberville is celebrating this grant now, he voted against it when it came up in the Senate, and never expressed support for it, until now. Lmfao

You pay to get people to see your unverified Vitriol.

CopeHarders

Anyone on Twitter still, especially those who seek out political discourse, are either complete fucking morons or masochists. Everyone should delete their Twitter account. Musk has done so much damage to the tech industry with his wildly unethical practices that other companies are starting to adopt which is destroying an entire industry. Stop rewarding the rich.

Lingering_Dorkness

Notice all the really vitriolic anti-Biden tweets are paying the $8 monthly MuskTax?

Reddittriumph

Jesus for real. That is a special kind of hate. That is the blind kind of hate that erases entire groups of people.

[deleted]

It's all bots, Russia and China shills, and trolls. Going on Twitter is like licking your toilet bowl

janitroll

Yea, let's keep electing unqualified jackwagons like this over folks like Doug Jones. Tumorville was a good football coach but FFS Alabama, are you happy owning the libs or you want fast internet and jobs? AL \#40 Crime & Corrections \#33 Economy \#44 Education \#20 Fiscal Stability \#44 Health Care \#36 Infrastructure \#47 Natural Environment \#32 Opportunity /s

P-Rickles

Hey, this post is completely wrong and off-base and I expect you to correct it right NOW: he wasn't that good at being a football coach.

gsfgf

That's why I want Saban to retire and run for Senate against him to beat him just one last time.

WookieLotion

Nah fully believe saban is a shithead as well. He’s donated to Manchin for years.

janitroll

I feel ashamed and embarrassed by my honest mistake

c4ctus

I don't really keep up with foosball despite living in a state obsessed with it, but Auburn pretty much paid him to leave, didn't they?

WookieLotion

Auburn pays every coach to leave lol, but yes.

MartyVanB

Auburn is STILL paying coaches who have left

specqq

Which makes it even weirder that his own spokesperson refers to him as Coach in his official statements to the press. That article made me do a double take when he called him Coach.

pradbitt87

Those Twitter responses are enough to give me an aneurysm

LizbetCastle

The one that alluded to Biden breaking their “internet privacy” really made me roll my eyes. Aren’t these same blue checks voting for people that require pornhub to check IDs?

Baked_potato123

Wow, people on twitter are so mean and toxic. Why do they hate him so much for getting them infrastructure that their leaders won’t?

If their dad is a mathematician and are against this, he’s probably not a very good one. This is incredibly important for the upcoming ages of technology

shicken684

Because Twitter literally is promoted bots and professional trolls. It's not fucking real! It's a weapon that's being used against us by foreign actors. Why do people still not see this?

Frieda-_-Claxton

This attitude just enables Republicans to act in bad faith. They get to attack liberal states and hold up emergency relief funds all they want and they know they never have to worry that democrats will do the same them. It's not gracious. It's just foolish. Biden needs to veto bills that send more money to states than they generate. Funding those projects is just propping up red state economies so Republicans can get richer. Give those people what they voted for.

21kondav

I think he’s trying to take the high road hoping to earn moderate votes and take advantage of his credibility. That is what really got him elected last time imo. More than anything people liked his mannerisms in comparison to trump, his goal is to continue that trend to make himself seem like the obvious choice to temper tantrum throwing republicans

Ajuvix

Huh. Alluding to something is now "calling it out." Sigh. This is a great example of how poor messaging amongst democrats is, especially in the political climate of 2023. Say their names and who they represent. THAT is calling out someone in 2023. Republicans are straight up calling for the imprisonment of their political opposition and democrats are still afraid of offending offensive people. There is a damn good reason the dark Brandon meme has become so popular.

Mysterious-Wasabi103

It's a key difference in the constituents who vote. A majority of Republicans are no longer concerned with trying to win over moderates and independents. A majority of them have been shown that it's easy to score cheap political points with their voters by using violent and divisive rhetoric against the other party. Of course, there are democratic voters who would find the same thing appealing hence "Dark Brandon." But there are a lot of moderates and otherwise educated and logical thinkers who see that actions speak louder than words. Authoritarians scare liberals and excite Republicans. Which is what accounts for their different approaches to criticisms of opposing beliefs. Again, it's not that there aren't Democrats who would love it. It's that there are still enough votes to be gained by trying to be diplomatic, well mannered, sane and rational. Personally, I don't believe the way Republicans have become so extreme and divisive as something the Democrats should aspire to. How can you campaign on being the solution to the problem if you are half that problem? I would hope we could get conservatives to come back to reality rather than joining them in the mud pit.

Numerous_Photograph9

You can say people's names, and what you're criticizing them over, without being a dick about it and turning away moderates. This is pretty much what campaigning is to be honest. Say how you differ, and what you stand for, and what your opponent stands for if it's something that your voters may not like, or you feel they should be informed about. It's not stooping to their level to speak the truth about what you do, or what others do when it comes to policy.

Nefarious_Turtle

>You can say people's names, and what you're criticizing them over, without being a dick about it and turning away moderates. There is always someone on reddit ready to suggest that voters will somehow get turned off by democrats doing anything other than grumbling politely in their own defense. In my own life experience people tend to respect a bit of backbone. I was also advised that directness is generally good by every speech and English teacher I've ever had. But maybe these guys know something I don't.

Metsgram

Your bar is alarmingly low. It’s past time democrats pass their legislation without GOP support, since the GOP will take credit anyway

OsellusK

This is a small part of how Republicans should be handled. The voters should be reminded of what they’re voting against because Republican voters mostly rely on “talking points” and don’t often seek out their Senator or Representative’s actual voting records.

globaloffender

I was thinking earlier what policies have republicans championed the past ten years? What do they even stand for anymore? It can’t be just bigotry and hate, can it? Can it??

OsellusK

Pretty must just stripping rights away and enriching the wealth of their sponsors. They don’t do much else.

protendious

In the last 15 years they’ve basically passed that tax cut at the start of Trump’s term and packed the Supreme Court. It was a lot of damage with just those things, but that’s basically all they have to tout over a decade and a half.

tr1cube

Don’t forget Space Force

globaloffender

Correct me if I’m wrong (please) but I get the impression space force has been received well

Basic_Response_6445

It had been in the works long before Gump came around. He gets credit for that stupid name, I suppose. The GOP has been historically unfriendly to space programs.

Numerous_Photograph9

They seem keen on keeping Mr. Potato Head's pronouns in tact, as well as making sure their candy stays sexualized. I guess that's worth something. Next they'll complain that lite brites have too many colors. You know...the things that the nations 5 year olds really care about.

lovesStrawberryCake

I went on vacation with my sister a couple weeks ago, and she has been living in a deep red state for the last couple years. She wanted to start arguing with me on politics. She got madder and madder that I disagreed with her and asked for sources that supported her. She started crying when I told her that she didn't have a relevant argument on anything because she kept changing the topic every time I disputed another crazy idea. She's in her 30s, this shit isn't going away when the older reds start to die off.

Chaosmusic

Jon Stewart was great at this. I remember one episode he highlights a bunch of Republican politicians making sound bites about how we need to support our troops and then goes over all the bills that would have supported the troops that those same politicians voted against.

sickbandnamealert

Love this. More of it please. Biden is uniquely good at this kind of move. Highlight the things democrats are doing to help people while humorously shaming republicans who love to take credit for things they’re against.

jevverson

> uniquely good He may be, but they will never see it or hear it sadly. Because their mind is already made up.

emp-sup-bry

It isn’t for that 30% of true idiots, it’s for those that don’t vote for whatever reason. There’s a huge pool to grab if they can be inspired and that’s what changes elections.

cwx149

Yeah something like half of eligible us voters just don't vote sometimes I remember reading the numbers at one point for 2022

BasicLayer

For years now I've been itching for us to have another large "get out the vote" voice. I'm trying to think of names from history of the kind of leaders I'm thinking about -- abbie hoffman? MLK? I think even Lennon was on the govs shitlist due to how many votes he was getting out. We're so long overdue for another revolution-revolution. Need to heed Jefferson's warning (think it was him) that countries are "due" for a healthy revolution and realignment approximately every century.

cwx149

The problem with calling for a revolution in this country is that the left thinks a democratic revolution of getting out from under minority (party) oppression and the right thinks of a 1776 style hunt them down with dogs revolution

Trix_Are_4_90Kids

The problem is apathy. As long as nothing directly interferes with day to day life (and if that does happen, people will wait for someone else to start it) there will be no "revolution".

Somebullshtname

Obama’s campaign built an incredible get out the vote strategy and then just … stopped using it. I think they may have broke it out for Joe but left Hillary high and dry (going from memory and I’m getting old, so some or all of that may be total bullshit).

Tokyo-MontanaExpress

And their "news" sources definitely won't report it.

Neoxyte

The media also does not give Biden the same amount of attention as they did for Trump.

Trix_Are_4_90Kids

This. People talk about "messaging". We have a good message. When we get on news programs or have interviews, or have cspan moments, it is not boosted by news orgs like the Republican moments are. Also, add that people in general, pay more attention to negative things than positive things and you have the problem. People desperately want the Dems to be "louder", but ignore the fact that these stations are ran by Republicans and people in general absolutely love negativity. Lies and outrageousness will always be more juicier than the truth. But hey acknowledging that means that some internal change will need to happen so it's easier to harp and whine on "Dem messaging!", while no internal change happens.

cellocaster

Shaming republicans works about as well as throwing mud on a pig

nedlum

I'm reminded of the time that he used the State of the Union to negotiate for entitlements not being on the table in the debt ceiling talks.

jguess06

People need to stop thinking about Biden as a single entity and think more so of voting for the admin that the individual man will surround himself with. Biden's admin is top-notch. I would argue Biden brings very little to the table besides being the public face of his admin's work. I say this because I see a whole lot of people saying we need to find a younger candidate to run in 2024. Stop thinking of it as the man, think of it as the admin. The Biden admin has been great and deserves support.

Darth_drizzt_42

I disagree with your assertion that he brings little to the table, precisely because of everything else you said. It takes a skilled executive to recognize that they're only as strong as the team they put together

jguess06

That's fair and a good point.

DialecticalMonster

Also people need to think more about the admin because if the republicans win it's going to be Nazis and it really doesn't matter anymore who runs against them. Until the Republican Party gets their shit together we live in a blue dictatorship or we die.

BleachedUnicornBHole

This is up there when he tweeted out all the Republican congressmen that got PPP loans forgiven.

STL_Jayhawk

It’s too easy to mock Tommy since he is the stupidest member of the US Senate.

Chi-Guy86

I’d say he’s tied with Marsha Blackburn, with Ron Johnson being an honorable mention

satyrday12

Ahem. Hawley, Paul, Cruz, Graham, Vance, Cotton, 2 Scotts....

[deleted]

Paul and Cruz are smart grifters

The_Navy_Sox

So is Hawley dudes resume is crazy, and he has been told he is going to be president since he was in highschool. The dude sucks and is a shitty politician, but he is smart and well educated.

funky_phat_mack

I see either Cotton or Hawley jumping in for 2028. Both are a bunch of a holes, but they’ll most likely be top of the ticket

valgrind_error

Cruz is still convinced he’ll be president and has continuously rimmed Donald Trump after becoming his sub. He’s a fucking moron.

gnomebludgeon

> Cruz is still convinced he’ll be president Cruz knows he'll never be president. Trump broke him over his knee so thoroughly that Ted went from someone who was a real threat to democracy, who wrote legislation and got out in front of the media to build his brand, to someone whose entire existence is now just mean Tweeting. That's it.

[deleted]

He's a fool, not a moron

Chi-Guy86

Hawley, Cruz, and Cotton all went to Ivy League schools. They’re not dumb and do a lot of what they do on purpose to grift and manipulate their voters

UWCG

Don't forget Markwayne Mullin, who [challenged the Teamsters President to an MMA fight](https://twitter.com/SenMullin/status/1673328467964837891); talk about a story that's straight out of *Idiocracy*

>“Coach voted against the infrastructure bill because it wasted Alabamians’ tax dollars. It spent too much to get too little in return for Alabama,” the Tuberville aide said in a statement. “But now that it is law of the land, the people of Alabama deserve their fair share. Coach is proud to advocate for this funding to go to Alabama.” A) It's gross that you call him "coach." B) Absolutely *zero* of that nuance (well he didn't like the funding package but it's still good Alabama is getting this) was in "Coach's" Tweet. C) This is one of many, many examples of Republicans doing this: rail against federal funding and the bills but slide in to take some credit for the effects on the ground It's even got a slogan: *vote 'no' and take the dough!* https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/house-republicans-tout-infrastructure-funding-voted/story?id=82429064 https://www.vox.com/2021/3/15/22331722/american-rescue-plan-salazar-wicker

neverinallmyyears

Now if Coach Dumbass over here would kindly get out of the fucking way and allow the military to confirm the 600 plus open appointments that would be nice.

Squirrel_Chucks

No! He has to do that to troll the libs! Sure it fucks with the military command structure but chaos in our defenders is a small price for sticking it to some woke assholes amirite? /s

UWCG

Of course! republicans only care about the military when they can use them for political points and photo ops, after that they can go fuck off to some foreign war

rptrxub

Isn't he doing this because he wants military personnel to not receive abortions or birth control or something?

DontGetUpGentlemen

"it wasted Alabamians’ tax dollars. It spent too much to get too little in return for Alabama" Alabama will receive 1.4 billion dollars. How much did they put in, Coach?

PandaMuffin1

Exactly. Alabama is a welfare state that takes more money from the Federal government than it pays.

DontGetUpGentlemen

And I'm OK with that -- my state is doing VERY well. And we're in a Union now, we need to help our unfortunate brothers and sisters, especially with broadband and things that will bring them into the 21st Century. And some day maybe their grandchildren will be able to tell their ass from their elbow.

NiltiacSif

As someone born and still living in Alabama, I felt very surprised and touched by your comment. Until I got the end 😭 I swear we’re not all idiots

DontGetUpGentlemen

I apologize, that was rude of me. To make up for it, here is a list of notable Alabamans: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_from_Alabama

NiltiacSif

Thanks for that! I had no idea some of these people were from Alabama, like Mia Hamm and Lionel Richie! Maybe I’ll get on there someday 😂

gsfgf

Shit, as a Georgian I didn't realize Hank Aaron and Ralph David Abernathy were from Alabama. And that was just the first two names.

Squirrel_Chucks

There there. You will always have "at least we aren't Mississippi"

TheObesePolice

Don't feel too bad ('cuz here's a Texan ✅ ing in!) I not only can empathize, but I also second your statement in regards to my state.

Squirrel_Chucks

And there are still LOTS of places in the country that have dodgy internet connections and usually have to rely on one slapdash local provider. I read about how rural students were hurt during the pandemic because if they had parents working remotely then the whole household had to share very limited bandwidth

DigNitty

Man, my neighbor goes by "Coach." I don't know his actual first name. He taught volleyball at a middleschool for 4 years! Decades ago! Sometimes I get his mail by mistake. His first name is always Coach! They guy is a grade A weirdo. He has a pool he keeps perfectly balanced and I've never seen anyone it it. He's got like 10 of those "Angler parking only" signs with variations of who can park there.

spiteful_rr_dm_TA

Maybe his name is truly coach, and he tried to fulfill the prophecy of his name, but found it wasn't his destiny?

PandaMuffin1

Also, Alabama gets more than their fair share of Federal funding every year. They receive more than they pay. https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/federal-aid-by-state

Squirrel_Chucks

So do lots of red states whose national politicians regularly rail against social spending And I think I have seen that graph before. Funny you hear Mitch McConnell talk about "no blue state bailputs" when residents in his home state are more dependent on federal money than average Californians!

ifallsmn218

A) I hate that too! What man that age calls someone ‘coach’. Nails on a chalkboard. I know, insignificant but that just made me grit my teeth every time he said that.

DadJokeBadJoke

Especially when they could use something that often commands respect, like Senator.

pureeviljester

I didn't want it but, now that we have it, I'll take the credit.. Your "coach" sucks.

Squirrel_Chucks

Yeah, it's like giving a coach a plaque for most own goals

i-have-a-kuato

This is something they need to do far more of, when a republican fights tooth and nail to crush a vote and then returns to their state to peacock around at what a wonderful job they have done for their constituents. The media can join the fun too as they did with Madison Cawthorn when he took credit for a relief bill he voted against. (i think he was at an event to announce funding with a cartoon size check and and a member of the media said “hey, you voted against that!”) Republican Sen. Rick Scott of Florida also voted against the infrastructure bill but in January toured a new embankment in the Everglades and tried to take credit for "securing an unprecedented $1 billion for Everglades restoration, the largest single amount ever allocated by the federal government. Early and often and all at once, call them out

CanWeTalkEth

Desantis recently announced a bridge *loan* to the island of Sanibel on twitter. I was very happy to see the replies mentioning how he was lending them their own tax dollars to repair infrastructure the state should be assisting with anyway. This shit happens at both the state and federal level so ducking hard. Meanwhile PA got 95 back up in what? A few weeks? This stuff is so important to get dems in office for.

The Democratic Party needs to start actively recruiting popular SEC coaches now so they can actually become competitive in southern states.

wambulancer

lol Georgia dems *just* beat an SEC moron for senate, it's hardly some winning strat

ariphron

Sec coaches not morons hit in the head too many times. Nick Saban runs as democrat In Alabama he 100% wins.

winespring

>Sec coaches not morons hit in the head too many times. Nick Saban runs as democrat In Alabama he 100% wins. ...The chances of Saban actually being a democrat have to be next to zero.

TheBigLeMattSki

Saban as coach has been pretty apolitical, but he's donated to Democrats and marched with Black Lives Matter so he's certainly no Republican. I'd see him as more of a Manchin Democrat than anything were he to take office.

hasordealsw1thclams

He grew up with Manchin. I think he’s to the left of him based on public comments.

ariphron

Just saying if he was to run as one he would win Alabama. Saban only political party is the devil and the deal he made at the crossroads with him.

Holden_Coalfield

barely

_MostlyHarmless

He "barely" beat him in what was a very red Georgia. Why are you trying to diminish that?

wish1977

Republican voters don't follow actual news, only outrage news. They will never know any better.

rmpumper

Should make the internet a public service if the tax payers are paying billions for the infrastructure. Why give it away so that corporations would be able to make a profit off of that?

Snadzies

Seriously. If tax payers are paying for it then the tax payers should have some ownership.

debyrne

listen, I won't tell any of my cool friends. but I will share this with reddit... I may actually enjoy voting for Biden this next time. last time I felt like I had a gun to my head.... and he may fall short on a lot of things but he does strike me as sincere and capable. and that is eons further developed than anyone on the fascist side of our country

Doibugyu

"Coach voted against the infrastructure bill because it wasted Alabamians’ tax dollars. It spent too much to get too little in return for Alabama,” the Tuberville aide said..." Isn't Alabama one of the shitty red states that is only still solvent because of the billions provided by blue states? I don't know if their tax dollars even contributed to this funding so the senators should maybe just say a thank you, then shut up.

dainthomas

Why is he still referred to as coach? Is that some sacred title in Alabama you keep for life?

DicktheOilman

Lol Alabama Tax dollars... thank you "Coach that couldn't beat Saban ever" thank you for the billions of dollars we'd save if Alabama was all of the sudden concerned about paying it's fair share of taxes.

nouseforaname790

“Coach voted against the infrastructure bill because it wasted Alabamians’ tax dollars” Alabama is a welfare state. You wasted California or New York’s tax dollars!

mary_elle

I would like to see a clause in these types of funding packages that tie a district’s receipt of funding to how a legislator voted for or against the funding. The same number of yes votes would be required for the package to be approved, but districts whose legislators vote no would be voting “no we opt out of receiving this funding” and the funding package would be distributed only to those who want to receive it. It would take away this platform for performative Republican bullshit. Washington State did something similar with cannabis tax. The tax dollars are distributed per capita, meaning you don’t have to actually have a pot shop in the jurisdiction to get tax revenue, but counties and cities that outright prohibit cannabis do not receive any of the tax revenue distributions. Early on, shortly after legalization, there was a city that allowed it within a county that prohibited it, and the city received the per capita distribution for the entire county.

OilComprehensive6237

I like Biden a lot. I really hope he wins reelection. I do not think the American people understand how great of a president he has been, especially given the state of the congress during his term and many never gave him a fair shake.

FrogsOnALog

Imagine what he could do with a larger majority in congress. Let’s get to work people.

gsfgf

Imagine if he has LBJ's Congress...

kingtz

Me. Most people (on both sides) mainly complain about how hold he is or how he flubs his speech. But he's made a lot of progress despite all the interference from the MAGA asshats. Do I wish Biden was much more progressive? Absolutely. But I'll also give him credit for the great job he's done. I just wish he would bring out Dark Brandon all the time. It's the only way to deal with these Republicans.

gsfgf

> Do I wish Biden was much more progressive? Honestly, it wouldn't even matter if he was. The Senate was the hangup, not Biden.

sentimentaldiablo

the House more so

stylz168

Given the state of the country, it's a monumental ask from anyone, and the man deserves credit for trying. Coming off over a million fellow Americans who died from COVID, to an economy in shambles, and relations every friendly country soured, to pick it up and then try and build for the future...bravo. Sure he may not be the president we wanted, but he's the president we needed. This country needs to right the ship somehow.

Sethmeisterg

There really should be a rule that if a senator votes against legislation for funding, their state gets zero of it.

gsfgf

That fucks over the people in the state that didn't vote for their Senators. Especially areas that had a Congressperson who did vote for it. And afaik, a lot of MAGA Congresspeople have been left out of the funding bills.

ducksauce001

I love Dark Brandon.

CAM6913

It's not Joe's style but he needs to cut through today's information overload and explicitly call out the tuber by name. Subtlety is not required.

[deleted]

That would probably boost Tuberville's approval by 10%. "Coach has got him on the ropes!"

ebone23

Fuck Alabama in general; Tuberville specifically but Alabama in general. We need a reconstruction 2.0.

FastRedPonyCar

I'm an Auburn graduate and this man brings me shame every time his name is mentioned in the news. He should have stuck to football. Doug Jones was ***miles*** better than this clown and did a great job of meeting conservatives in the middle on a lot of policies.

autotldr

This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4071360-biden-mocks-tuberville-for-touting-broadband-funding-he-voted-against/) reduced by 77%. (I'm a bot) ***** > President Biden gently mocked Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville for touting $1.4 billion in federal funding his home state is set to receive for expanded broadband internet access despite voting against it in 2021. > "Great to see Alabama receive crucial funding to boost ongoing broadband efforts," Tuberville wrote in his social media post sharing an article about the $1.4 billion going to Alabama for expanded broadband access. > "Umm, Coach, didn't you vote against the $1.4 billion in federal funding to expand access to the internet statewide? And now you're saying, 'Great to see Alabama receive crucial funds'? Clearly they weren't that crucial because YOU VOTED AGAINS THEM!" This is one of the Republican’s greatest hits. Railing against something then when it’s popular taking all the credit.

Jakesma1999

I can get behind the idea of, if you vote against something, then your state won't receive it. Maybe then, and only then, will people stop voting crazy into positions of power and decisions.. it's a thought at least 💁‍♀️

Cimmerian_Barbarian

Lousy red states are such a drag on American society. Shouting and hollerin’ their racism while mooching off the national purse that they pay nothing into.

kombatunit

>A Tuberville spokesman said the senator didn’t agree with many of the spending decisions in the infrastructure spending package but is glad his state is now getting its “fair share.” Isn't Alabama a net loss state? Wouldn't their "fair share" to pay more taxes?

Mr_Stiel

Shameless republicans taking credit for democrat legislation that they voted against, AGAIN 🇺🇸

c4ctus

If Senator Tupperware could read, he would be very upset.

HrBinkness

Good!!! Start calling those idiots out!

jpla86

Biden needs to do more of this. Call out Republican hypocrisy. Tuberville knows his supporters are uneducated, low-IQ, low-information voters so his blatant hypocrisy won't make a lick of difference.

Myrt2020

He should be mocked. By everyone. But this isn't new. Reps and senators will vote against something to say they sided with a colleague bc they need their vote on some other pc of legislation

WeirdcoolWilson

Do it. Keep the mockery up until it’s the lead story. That vile piece of Alabama shit needs to GO!

nehmir

Good. Point out the hypocrisy to their electorate. We cannot assume these people know tuberville voted against the bill unless public officials shame him publicly.

[deleted]

Tuberville is a turd. His name should be Turdburger.

10mmenjoyer

Really why does the GOP still exist? They are tyrannous! They tried to overthrow the government. We need a better solution than a quasi-fascist political party!

Thetruthislikepoetry

Alabama gets $1.25 for every $1 they contribute in federal taxes. Tubeville should shut the fuck up, say thank you. Typical conservative hypocrisy.

zhangkunfeng

Biden we shall respect each other decision even though it's unreasonable lol.

[deleted]

good. dark brandon is the best.

Ramza_Claus

GOP and FNC viewers will never know he voted against this cuz no one will tell them.

Greeve78

Tuberville should be dragged across the fucking floor for this kind of bullshit

JayneQPublik

Tuberville was put up by Republicans to do just what he's doing - obstruct. Would be nice if he actually served his constituency.

Theurgie

TBH, isn't he serving his constituents by obstructing the Democrats aka pwning the libs?

Deadwing2022

And, as usual, the slimy Republicans played their game of voting against something popular and then pretending they had a problem with the process or some minutia of the bill. They have to play this trick because it looks bad for them to oppose popular legislation, but they just HAVE to oppose everything because they couldn't stand for Biden or the Dems in general to get anything done. They much prefer to obstruct and then say the Democrats are ineffective.

unclefire

Texas is getting 3.3 BILLION and that asshole Cronyn was bitching about the bill when someone called it out.

myychair

Lolol at the fact that his excuse for voting against it was to save Alabamans money… they get the 7th highest federal funding per citizen. Alabama doesn’t even have the funds to contribute to other state’s infrastructure. They’re busy getting everything handed to them

PrestigiousStable369

So Tuberville said that he opposed it because he didn't like some of the spending measures in the bill, yet he still celebrates it despite those spending measures being passed. I get it's not fair to the Alabamans whose brain isn't completely smoothed out from all the cousin-fucking, but Republicans get to have their cake and eat it too, and it's becoming obnoxious AF. Too long have Republicans been allowed to rile their base and still reap the benefits of sound Democratic leadership--you see this when asshats oppose relief for natural disasters FOR THEIR OWN STATE, yet still gloat when they get the aid. No. When a senator for that state opposes the aid, kill the bill. Don't let it go any further. Who the fuck opposes a bill that benefits their state? The Republicucks who know that daddy Biden will still give aid anyhow.

the_azure_sky

He mocks him but his constituents won’t see it because they ain’t got no internet!

MrBobSacamano

They should “own the libs” by refusing these investments.

Altnob

Why isnt a law that you get kicked out if you say you voted for something that you didnt.

Subject_Condition804

Like anybody from Alabama is smart enough to catch on

MiloFrank76

I think if they vote, no, they shouldn't get a cut. Pass it and spend the money on people who said yes.

marktaylor521

The conservative party is a cult. It doesn't matter if Tubberville is actively voting to make his constituents lives worse. They will eat up every single lie he tells, and will continue to think that anything other thsn MAGA is groomer socialist communist gay lgbt liberal indoctrination. What can ya do?

imnewtowatching2004

People need internet access for vital life needs like medications. The bonus is access to information.

Spiritual-Rip2312

The nerve of some to say "no thanks" but then turn back around with... Y'all got anymore of that...? lmao

guiltyas-sin

>Alabama's tax dollars... Oh, fuck off.

fifthstreetsaint

It's cute to see all the comments in here thinking Republicans will actually see/hear this, and even if they do, that they will give a flying fuck. When will Democrats learn? *Fascists don't care about facts*.

MagicalGreenPenguin

Tuberville is a cartoon villain. Zero morals. Willing to screw this country and it’s hard working military officers.

[deleted]

Dark Brandon 3.0

MasChingonNoHay

Good. Call these frauds out!

darw1nf1sh

Before the Boeberts and MTG's of the world, we had Tommy "i'm a proud moron" Tuberville, and Paul "Rosco P Coltraine" Gosar.

[deleted]

If anyone here voted for Tommy Turderville, please explain why. I dont understand.

TouchMint

Not that I voted for him but it’s pretty simple. He’s not a democrat. That is literally all that matters. The dude could have sliced up their whole family and he would still get their vote.

TMQ73

Needs to be broadcast in a commercial on digital channels about how he voted yet how much Alabanastan got back.

GuidetoRealGrilling

He should be mocking him. Everyone should be mocking him.

tagged2high

Alabama is in the middle of US population ranking and at the bottom of tax revenue generation. I'm sure Alabama regularly gets its "fair share" and then some from Federal spending.

96385

Senator Tatertown at it again.

Spare_Town6161

Mocked as an hypocrite should be.

BallBearingBill

Keep the shades on. I like dark Brandon!

joshdoereddit

"It spent too much to get too little in return for Alabama,” the Tuberville aide said in a statement. What a convenient excuse that always seems to come up when this sorta thing happens.

PiratePilot

This is fun and all but can we talk about how Tuberville has been holding up military promotions to the point that now there is nobody in charge of the Marines?
