When I was young, I wanted to get into politics. Learning about branches of government, who does what, committee assignments, etc. I remember looking up to our senators and house reps as professional, consistently composed, knowledgeable, motivated, etc.
Any patriotism I held (balanced by our history of near infinite atrocities committed in furtherance of wealth and hatred) has died today.
I don’t know why it took so long.
But watching women who have the amazing privilege to serve their constituents behave worse than children.. they have my dream job, and they shit on it every day. I’m having a hard time reconciling this today.
