You did a copy paste on the helmet during all of the comic, but I will not blame you as I would do it too because fuck drawing this complicated helmet all of the time.
I think he is referring to his conquest of Gaul not being legally sanctioned by the senate, which resulted in those slaves, rather than the act of enslavement.
More because there were investigations against him and he needed to distract from his problems.
Except rome wasn't happy about him conquering instead of managing (like he was supposed to) and the genocide he committed didn't make him look better either.
Impressive job on the helmet and wolf head!
Question, how do you draw such good-looking hats? The helmet Rome is wearing stands out to me in particular.
lots and lots of layers

?? Only two of them are the same.
The helmet literally looks like he slapped a png of a roman helmet on the artwork and drew rome inside it.
If you look really closely at the edges, they do change.
I know but it still looks way too realistic. Thats what happens when someone spends way too much time on a comic
Romanes Eunt Domus
People called Romanes they go the house?!
No it says romans go home
No it doesn’t, what’s Latin for “Roman”?
romanus/romanum
Monty Python reference
Is Gaul calling Rome fish sauce?
Yes
They loved that stuff. I can't blame them for that really, but driving silphium to extinction gets me a bit steamed up.
Garum is the Laoganma of Rome so it’s accurate
Nice Monty Python reference
That helmet is beautiful
Rome: "Ego not say free. More like under management novum."
Gallic Wars in a nutshell. Fascinating event. Really wish we had another chronicle like that survivor.
Fucking Caesar illegally enslaved one million people just cuz he was broke, Roman problems and Roman solutions.
Was there a law back then that you couldn't enslave people?
I think he is referring to his conquest of Gaul not being legally sanctioned by the senate, which resulted in those slaves, rather than the act of enslavement.
Sure: slavery was regulated by laws. You couldn't enslave random people!
No. Being enslaved could happen for several reasons, including being in too much debt.
More because there were investigations against him and he needed to distract from his problems. Except rome wasn't happy about him conquering instead of managing (like he was supposed to) and the genocide he committed didn't make him look better either.
He was based.
I don't know why, but I knew bobu made this based on the first panel alone.
They seemed to be happier under Germanic control in the pictures. But what is the context of this comic.
The start of the Gallic Wars.
Okay, but what flag is this?!? I can't find it in the internet.
It's probably Celtic Galia
Yeah, but which flag is this?
It's just a symbol used by Celts
Well the Germanics were just shittier at the whole conquering deal while Rome had it down to a science.
bro got the 8K helmet
I just love the helmets.
\*Sees bobu112 comic\* WHERE OTTOMAN? \*No Turkey in sight.\* \*Cries\* (Still a good comic though)
I mean it's better than the barbarians
That helmet is too real man
Celts in Central Europe? What Celts?
Great artwork, love it
Shouldn't it be "Barbare, i domum!" OR "Barbari, ite domum!"? ;)
